NOC Lumiose Legends Mafia - GAME OVER (Mafia Win)

Agree to disagree on 71

I think 385 is the only one of the two with good conviction, but I don’t see how it’s based on established anything in order for that to be supporting them
Yeah fair enough I don’t really think skip has done enough in terms of explaining what his issue here really is

skippergamez wrt to #385 I’d like you to hear you expand on what kind of issues you have with vizh’s reads here, is it a gut thing or is there something like tellingly bad iyo?

Yeah I think skip is giving me the same sort of feeling as vizh where they’re posting content that looks solvy, but it seems forced and like some reads just fall flat or look TMIish, but skip also has had some decent posts and apparently he’s like this as town, I think vish is prob a better info lynch asw.

Vote vizh
Also to supplement this w/ how I tend to approach early days in general, my sort of philosophy for playing scum is that you absolutely have to (in order to play a good scumgame) be active, present and exerting thread control or else you’re just banking on a town self imploding, so naturally I’m more on the lookout for powerwolfy kinds of playstyles early on and more willing to give a pass to less active/LHF type slots because if they’re scum they aren’t really carrying weight for their team and become much easier to sort out as the game goes on and it becomes clear that town is just killing itself while scum sit back (in contrast to a more present scum which is actually leading town down that path, which is hard to discern from a townie being mislead)

Good morning

I forgot there wasn't mafia daytalk until.someone mentioned it. I actually think that makes D1 even worse since if they aren't coaching each other they can act more natural in thread which is disappointing.

Skip's acting weird but I think voting Vizh is something town skip does rather than mafia skip. It's ambitious, and so it feels genuine.

I have a problem with pulsar saying hopefully we get mech info in an earlier post. We should be sharing shit today. But that's something I expect from pulsar'a philosophy and I believe is NAI. I do expect that massclaim will happen around 3 and am much looking forward to being around when it makes sense to do it. (I consider myself to be a good mech solver) but we need to wait until then.

I think skip, AG, Vizh probably town

Sunny townlean

Others have left less of an impression.

I think this is a good mindset when you're profiling certain high ego types but lots of other scum will count on town self imploding and just coast in. It happens! Town isn't perfect by design.

This is an interesting perspective and one I don’t entirely share. Having lost to inactive scum slotting themselves in before I think it’s less about pulling weight in the traditional sense but more in terms of surviving (which doesn’t require thread presence)

How is my wagon ambitious in the slightest? If my (hasn’t checked) math is right then I’m the biggest wagon even without that vote

I read this second bit as you saying we should we should be sharing mechanical info today. Is that a correct interpretation or am I misreading?

You are misreading I want people to shut up about roles today but I expect it will come out in a few cycles.

I think it's ambitious because regardless of alignment you're an active player who can argue and is reading the thread meticulously. You're not easy to vote out when there are idlers.

I hadn't even counted all the votes up to this point, though. These votes are like testing what lynches are possible, but it's not until deadline that we see what people want to have happen for real.

okay im here for real now. Initial skim reads are

charlie/sb town(high confidence) went through all their posts and all of them have been progressing the game and progressing their solve

vizh/ck town (vizh medium high ck medium) their conversation reads super t/t to me in a way mafia can't coordinate, vizh has some townier things earlier which is whi i have them higher, ill pull it up if necessary but i want to look into others first

hh feels unusually uninvested, because im pretty sure they were way solvier in past games

blazade's post earlier this page feels slightly frustrated in a way that i feel only comes from town blazade, why would mafia be all that frustrated about bad townplay

sunny's town (low/med confidence) i don't like how fast they were to push votes, but theyve been general scumhunting, also see them following a line of reasoning on aligning that i think is pretty good

Yes mafia absolutely can sit back and watch town blow itself up, it happens and it wins for scum, but when town is actually on the ball it is much better play to actually be in the thread, planting ideas, planting wagons, etc. than sitting around hoping townies (who have adjusted themselves to scumread exactly that kind if behavior) don’t notice you. And if you do have a bad situation like that in a town, you can identify what’s happening and what slots seem to be coasting and recover if town gets itself back together.

Unfortunately town does just blow itself apart with coasty scum because they just aren’t playing well often, but scum will do much better much more consistently if they get in the fray and incite even more destruction, and it’s ironically also much harder to identify because of the type of things good townies are looking for and because you naturally blend in when you’re blowing town up while a majority of town is also blowing town up.
