IDK if this violates a rule because I'm not posting a good team, I'm posting it because I need help. I have played with it for a decent amount of time, but I haven't gotten anywhere. I'm trying to figure out away to make this Screens HO team better, mostly looking for replacement Pokémon for synergy reasons since I have standard sets. For some reason, I struggle against the worst archetype, balance (nothing against balance players I just meant it is sorta bad this gen). I am a noob who hasn't played for very long, but be as harsh as you like about this, I know the team is bad. It is pretty good against the Ghold+Glimmora team so that's something positive I guess.
Dora the Explorer (Dragapult) @ Light Clay
Ability: Clear Body
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Light Screen
- Reflect
- U-turn
- Thunder Wave
I don't feel like there's anything really wrong with this set. I like how it OKHOs Meow with U-turn, so I want to keep that. I get set up on my Bulk Up Great Tusk, which tends to sweep my team if it sets up lategame and AA is dead. I try not to Tera this, because it's a support mon, but Steel is so I can paralyze Iron Valient. I might switch to bug incase it ends up being my last pokemon, but if it's my last pokemon I've already lost, so I'm probably keeping Steel. Would poison be better? Nickname is because it's called Dorapult in Japan (not relevant, I've just been asked about that before). I don't really want to switch it for Atails because Atails is sorta slow, and I'm probably not switching it for anything (I'm still willing to take suggestions).
AA (Latias) @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Levitate
Tera Type: Poison
EVs: 252 HP / 232 Def / 24 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Agility
- Stored Power
- Aura Sphere
The standard set (literally copypasted, but last time I tried to do something original it didn't go great.), I started using it after I got swept with it. Good wincoin, has issues against Ghold. It looks like it should be weak to kingambit, but in practice it's actually very good since sucker activates weakness policy and then Latias can OKHO with Aura. My only reliable way to beat Bulk Up great tusk. It never does enough damage against balance, and is really weak to Skarm and SpD Ting-lu because phasing removes its boosts. I'm not thinking of switching it for anything because nothing else really seems to fill the same role, but if there is anything else or if I just need another pokemon with a completely different role, I would swap it out. I have to burn tera to do it, but it does set up on Gliscor.
Stardust (Roaring Moon) @ Booster Energy
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 252 Atk / 140 Def / 116 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Knock Off
- Earthquake
- Roost
The bulky set that's currently being tested, also copypasted. It is good, but it only outspeeds Valient after 2 DDs. I don't want to swap EQ for Tera Blast because without burning Tera I only have three moves. I was going to invest in SpA before I switched to EQ, that's how bad it was (thankfully I never actually did that). Really weak to phasing. I don't feel like the synergy is the best because it's sorta redundant coverage, but it does a lot of damage, is really broken, and is brainless enough for me to use it. The nickname Stardust is because the Project Stardust from Star Wars.
Cybertruck (Iron Treads) @ Booster Energy
Ability: Quark Drive
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Steel Beam
- Earth Power
- Rapid Spin
Mostly there to Spin, and because it has two good attacking types. I don't actually ever Tera this, but Tera ghost is to spinblock and hypothetically beat Valiant. I feel like I don't click SR a lot even though it's really good and I have a spinblocker, but that's more of an issue with me playing the game. I just feel like it always gets cleared before it actually does anything worthwhile. It beats Iron Moth, which gives this team a lot of trouble. Especially the Sub version or Speed booster version. I would be willing to swap it for anything with rapid spin (except Delibird). Spinners will be good no matter what, I've tried Tatsugiri as a spinner on another team (that got higher than this one). I could use Tusk in this slot, but that is another thing that Valient beats which is already half the team (it shouldn't beat Valiant, but people tend to think I'm going to tera and click knock or shadow and then it OKHOs with Steel Beam). Maybe it would be worth it to change it to Mortal Spin Glimmora? That's probably the only thing I'm considering over it since it also beats Val and has Earth Power.
Shogun (Kingambit) @ Black Glasses
Ability: Supreme Overlord
Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Sucker Punch
- Swords Dance
- Low Kick
- Kowtow Cleave
The normal set. I can't decide if I want to switch Kowtow for Iron Head or not. Or switch to a Tera Flying bulky set with Iron Head to beat Great Tusk. Besides team ideas, I am also open to nickname ideas because this one is super uncreative.
Waifu (Iron Valiant) @ Booster Energy
Ability: Quark Drive
Tera Type: Poison
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Knock Off
- Encore
Never does anything, the main reason why I made this thread is to ask what to replace it with. I'd say what it's weak to, but that's everything. Mainly phasing taking the speed boost, but it dies to a slight breeze. I don't tera it except for encoring a wall into toxic and beating it because no one really wants to switch into +2 CC. All coverage is reduant, I have Knock on Stardust and physical Fighting coverage on Kingambit. I sorta wish it had a fairy move, but the mixed set never does enough damage. I used to have destiny bond, that was good. I might switch it to specs so Stardust doesn't take it's job. Mainly though, I'm looking to replace it. I send it out late enough game screens aren't up anymore, so it can't set up. I am considering Waterpon because it beats Dondozo, which counters Stardust.
I don't really save replays, here's one but this isn't exactly a standard OU team.

Dondozo and phasing are probably the biggest issues I have with this team.
Also, I am not the best at actually playing the game, so maybe the team is fine and it's just me.
