You guys are trpping balls if you think Lanturn looks any more like a dolphin than any other fish.

Dolphins are mammals, not fish.

For example, a lot of people say that Magcargo resembles a snail. Ridiculous, since it lacks eye stalks, epithelial cilia, and a downward-facing respiratory pneumostome. I have even heard some people compare Tentacruel to a jellyfish, despite the fact that it doesn't have a rhopalial lappet, a gastrovacular cavity, or any statoliths! Thank you for finally pointing this out!

I don't think I've ever laughed as hard at something posted on a forum as I did with this. You have made my day with this!

But note: except for Arcanine, every relevant Fire-type is either a starter or a legendary, all the way down to NU, where the best Fire-type is still Charizard!

Nonononononono. MAGMORTAR is the best NU Fire, lack of a decent water hitting attack (Aside BD'd T-punch) makes Zard worse.

Doesn't really matter, Maggy has just about as much stats as a starter anyway.

i used magmortar for great sucess in UU has a life orb mixed sweeper, his wall breaking capabilitys are amazing and different from vire, his powerful STAB move is coming from the higher atacking stat(123 fire blast VS 95 t-bolt) and that is not saying too much, he get t-bolt too what pretty much kill those waters and focus blast is just amazing for...well coverage.

please, lets not take the accuracy into consideration in this one and remember its a fighting move with 120 power coming from base 125 special atack ok? i know how much that shit miss.

Farfetch'd should be made the middle of a new line 3 evo line like Roselia was in 4th gen. Final evo should be a ninja duck that has super luck, focus energy, and use of the stick. Heck, that could even be used in place of making a new random yardtrash flying pokemon like budew was in 4th gen.

There are two types of Pokemon that need evolutions, you have Pokemon that absolutely demand evolutions and are complete afterthoughts if they don't get one, and Pokemon that could use evolutions but don't need them as much as the first catergory.

Pokemon that demand evolutions, for example, are Farfetch'd, Girafarig, Stantler, Mawile, and I could go on

Pokemon that could use evolutions, for example, are Swalot, Sharpedo, Absol, Octillery, and I could go on

I could probably make a complete list later, perhaps with more catergories than just these 2. But fully evolved Pokemon on the NU tier should really get some help this gen IMO. What is the point of a Pokemon like Girafarig or Stantler, when they have no redeeming qualities?

They have the redeeming quality of being too strong for little cup.

I can see LC Ubers growing very large this gen, to the point that it may be its own Metagame :V

I see what you mean, and it's a reasonable assessment. However, it doesn't change my thesis that much, because in D/P Magmortar is still legendary-esque in that it can only be accessed via dongle, at the very end of the game. It's basically the same as Heatran.

On Stealth Rock, I think they should make it like a reverse spikes-have it only hurt Pokemon with Levitate/Flying types. any ways, some random bits I'd like to see:

-Encore, Baton Pass and Ingrain as TMs
-a reverse foil of the iron ball: a levitating ball, which can give the held pokemon levitate. of course to keep it from being broken, it could have a weight limit(like onlly 50 lbs and under, or something.)
-pre-evolutions of Skarmory, Lapras, and Kangaskhan
-new evolutions of Luvdisc, Sudowoodo, and Farfetch'd

just wanted to get that out.

Damn, I've just realized something

In none of the pictures nor on the video there is a pokemon following the main character

Do you think they for whatever reason decided to ditch the idea or they just didn't show it on video? IMHO the latter is much more possible, but there were a few quite original ideas which appeared in FR/LG but never made it to any other games

Hopefully you can withdraw or put them back in their balls as you please.

At anycase, I think it'd be interesting to see a Porygon3 or something like that. The way Porygon-Z looks, plus the fact it evolves via dubious disc could say that maybe Porygon-Z was a glitch, and Porygon3 could be the actual evo. Meh.

I agree. I am so tired of people comparing Pokemon to real-world animals with some characteristics they lack!

Seriously...besides the little anal nerdlets, who is really going to go through that much detail about Pokemon? All these words? These are definitely not common term. Even someone that takes biology won't even know these things. You have to either major in this stuff or spend your free time stuffing your nose in some old, 700 page textbook. Just chill out and don't get all literal and anal.

Ooh, looks like somebody cannot detect sarcasm

I assume R.I.L.'s post was sarcasm.

And that my post has been ninja'd.

ah...without the tone of voice, its hard to tell. When I saw all these terms and read what he said, my mind automatically jumped to "dorky literal kid."

Porygon-Z is a hacked version of Porygon2. Though never stated, the Dubious Disc was probably produced by Team Rocket.

I'm not sure about Team Rocket. Probably Team Galactic. Team Rocket people don't have the brain power. That's why they wanted the Silph Co. Team Galactic had all these crazy resources and their leader is freaking psycho.

Or, you could just search "jellyfish anatomy" on Google and see what comes up. Case in point: http://cronodon.com/BioTech/Jellyfish.html

It took me about thirty seconds to find, and I learned some cool stuff as a bonus. Did you know that some jellyfish are biologically immortal? Move over, Arceus...Tentacool's the PokeGod now! :nerd:

@Kalinnikov: Dude, when I read the first sentence of your post, I mixed up a few words and thought it said something waaaay different...

In any case, I hope you're right. The following Pokemon concept in HGSS was a cool little diversion, and most of the sprites themselves looked pretty good. I'm kinda pissed that it looks like GameFreak is getting rid of it...unless, of course, they're doing it to get the memory space for three hundred brand new Pokemon. Then, all is forgiven.

And, however inaccurate (Genes actually have to split in order for reproduction and messenger RNA production) he makes a comparison to genetics in a Pokemon game. Plus they have a base which requires a freaking sonic key to get hidden stuff in...(Eterna City Base, the Rotom-formes area.)

On the other hand, it COULD be the work of monkey ninja zombie pirate Sith lawyer hackers...but that probably isn't the case.

Anyways...when was the last time we got a Pokemon B/W update? The lack of info is probably going to our heads...

Team Rocket grunts are stupid, but Team Rocket employed craploads of scientists. You battle many of them in Silph Co in RBY/FRLG. And Sliph Co, which Team Rocket took over, developed Porygon. It would have been easy for some of the scientists to take away Silph's relevant research data and produce the Dubious Disk.

On the other hand, the Disk _is_ found in Team Galactic's HQ.

Considering Pokemon is a world all on its own, the organisms will, of coarse, differ from their real world counterparts in some way or another. That is a large basis of the game itself. People are naturally attracted to things that are familiar with them, especially in younger children. These children most likely do not know the specific features that the organisms which the Pokemon are based off of have, only their general shape and features.

With this knowledge, yes, we can assume that Tentacruel is akin to jellyfish. Magcargo is a snail. Lanturn, an angler fish. Just because they lack these specific features which the organisms in THIS world has, we must remember that this is a complete universe of fantasy created to please children. They make the connection to real life animals, as they should, as it attracts them to the Pokemon even more so than if they were completely alien. Of coarse, everyone's tastes are different, and there are a great deal of pokemon which have no real world comparison that is very clear (Blissey, Exploud, Wigglytuff, many of the legendarys, etc), as well as other pokemon which must have gotten inspiration from other places as well.

Anyways, keep it simple.
