Also, does anyone else think that Munna/Musharna will evolve into Ganesh or some other creature/god from Hindu folklore. It has the naming style and to a degree the design and coloration similar to art from that source.

I think Munna has around 90 Base HP so I can't see it getting more than one evolution without it going crazy. I think a design like that could work but I don't think they would base a Pokemon off of a god unless it was legendary.

I sure hope Isshu isn't based off the United States of America because it is pretty boring. There aren't even many indigenous populations anymore, the majority of the "animals" are imported, domestic livestock species like horse, cow, chicken, and pig. Of course, we already have a deer Pokemon (Stantler) and now this eagle, but really the only other interesting possibilities are moose and black bear. The landscape itself is pretty dreadful; big cities in the epi-centers with suburbs surrounding them and then farm land. Not much land to explore.

i think you're pretty off base here. the biodiversity of the americas is pretty high. the animals might not be as "exotic" as the animals that live elsewhere in the world, because colder climes and temperate regions produce less absurd evolutionary adaptations than the jungles that are present in much of the rest of the world. american biodiversity, even now, when it's driven into the remaining wilderness is pretty high. spend some time in texas, or florida or even stretches of upstate new york and you'll (if you're lucky and watchful) catch some surprising creatures. yes, they might be bear and deer and cats and wolves, but that's still a lot. not to mention the fossil record from even 5,000 years before human inhabitance...20 foot lions? mammoths? giant beavers and sloths? large flightless birds with ARMS? some pretty crazy, bad ass stuff lived here.

Pokebeach has updated:

In 3v3, the position of a given Pokemon in the group matters.
Video chat confirmed as well.

Yeah, more info has been posted on PokéBeach. Maybe Surf/RockSlide stuff like that won't be ridiculously OP because maybe it can only hit two adjacent opponents?

Sounds to me like they're trying to introduce battling mechanics from Battrio, which is pretty cool.

EDIT: Man, Uber-Ninja'd. This thread moves fast. @_@

Every reigion so far has been based off Japan, I don't see why this would change.

They're gonna run out of places eventually, and since I think Orre is right above Kanto and the Ranger games would take up a lot of the space, they really don't have much more room to work with. That said, I really don't see why they didn't base Isshu off of the area between Johto and Hoenn.

Exactly. Japan has all those thunder mice, fire birds and time gods. All America has is deer.

Like I said a few posts back, apparently Isshu is supposed to be far away from the other regions. Also, all of the regions so far have borrowed their shape from parts of the world (though the actual content of the regions were flourished with things like deserts and such that aren't actually there in the real-world counterparts to make them more diverse), but no part of Japan has the shape of Isshu. Therefore, it seems to be based on a different part of the world, with the most popular theories being New York City and Shanghai right now.

If it isn't New York then Gamefreak is officially racist there I said it

how is it if its new york then gamefreaks racist?

some of the new pokemon looks a bit digimonish to me, which isnt a problem, since i like digimon... and new york would kinda make sense.... with isshu being very far away... and america being on the other side of the world from japan...

N kinda looks like that other guy with the mask or that glowing red eye. They kinda have similar hair color/long hair I think. Maybe hes Bi-Polar?
Dont start this again,we had a huge debate over this like 50 pages back,to svae some time, they are totaly diffrent people, but they are related in someway. And the evil guy is the kind of guy who is destroying the world for a higher justice to make a new better world. So evil, but for reasons he thinks are good, like Cyrus but minus being a wicked jerk.

Okay just a short list:
Buffalo, Bison, Deer, Cougars, Foxes, Wolves, Moose, Elk, Mountain Goats,
Squirrels, Rabbits, Ducks, Geese, Alligators, Crocodiles, Wolverines, Badgers, Beavers, GroundHogs, Pythons.

Now that I think about how many of these "New Pokemon" Fit into one of those molds already?...

Wild Hog's were once really prevalent in the midwest during pioneer times.

They could use some fauna from central and south america as well, just to widen their options. Isshu seems to have it all when it comes to weathers.

aahhh the beautiful New York Desert. I spent many a summer there. such an amazing view of the mountain ranges.

EDIT: I thought of something that may or may not have been brought up yet. Free Fall stops the action of the opponent, right (or at least we assume it does)? well, they would need to put some sort of limit to how much this could be used/how effective it is, like low accuracy/PP total/Base Power, or else it could be abused if the user was faster then the opponent. blocking opponents actions while taking down their HP bit by bit? that's no good.

I think most of the world has snakes, wild boars, and otters so the starters atleast aren't exactly exclusive to America. Japan has plenty of Foxes and Squirrels as well so those wouldn't really prove anything either.

I just remembered that I had a dream on Friday night about a Pokemon that had an ability where it would hug an opposite gender Pokemon when it switches in and deal 10% damage to it. While hurting a Pokemon with a hug is kind of crazy, it did remind me that there's an ability on a modded Shoddy server called Quills that deals a set amount of damage to the opponent when the Pokemon switches in (I think it might have been 30%). Something like this could be used on Stall Teams to increase the amount of residual damage.

Seemed to me that the downfall is that you are also unable to do anything.
