5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

I'm trying to RNG Reshiram with a delay of 1649 and frame of ten. I am a little confused about seeds in Black and White, particularly how to hit them using Eontimer. What does "calibration" mean on the Eontimer exactly?

Is calbration the same here? By that I mean, starting the DS time as soon as a fresh minute appears and go through the intro as fast as possible, then soft reset at the next minute and skip the intro till I'm in the overworld. Do I still apply the results on the seed finder? If so do I choose the custom tab in the IVs tab to find out 5th gen seeds?

Did you "calibrate" in 4th gen by button-mashing A to get through the Continue screen, instead of using a two-stage timer?

Hi all,

Right I'm finally trying to RNG Reshiram:

My Seed is F893D041 Target Frame 7. I'm saved in front of Reshiram with 4 pokémon in my party.

I'm using Eon Timer and just wandered what I'm supposed to be doing exactly at the end of the two timers this gen. I assume at the end of the second timer I need to be pressing yes to activate the C-Gear. At the end of the first timer is that when I need to be clicking on my game save to load it up??? Then wait until the end of the second timer to activate the C Gear?

If you mean SRing when the first timer runs out, then yes, your correct.

Ok this makes sense as it's then the same as in gen IV but the timer doesn't give me enough time to set the ds game and load up the file and soft reset before the first timer runs out.

Maybe I need to go for a different time so I get more time on the first timer...

Is there a surefire way to verify my delay? I'm trying to callibrate my C-Gear seed by catching Zekrom, but whenever I plug in its IVs, it says there is no match.

By the way, does it matter (aside from different MAC addresses) the DS I use? I was using a DSi first, but then switched over to a DS Lite when it continually didn't find anything. But so far, aside from once, the DS Lite has been the same.

Another thing. Once the second timer ends and I turn on the C-Gear, do I immediately battle and catch Zekrom to get the IVs, or do I turn off the C-Gear first?

Doesn't matter. The only thing that leaving the C-gear on affects is your Nature/ability/gender. Since the last two don't apply to Zekrom, as long as you have a Syncher you have a 50/50 shot of getting your nature. Good luck!

wow this is annoying. You don't get a chance to check Reshiram's nature in Ns castle when you catch as after that you have two battles then the credits roll.

Alright well, there are still the other two questions. I can't verify what delay I hit after I turn on the the C-Gear, and I'm curious if it matters what DS you use.

You just have to lose the first battle.

Ah! sounds good, I'm assuming it doesn't autosave if you fight him and lose then?

Also in rng reporter what does it mean in the bit where it says 'c gear seed displayed'? Is this something you can check in game to see what seed you hit..??

The value given by the MTIVRNG Seed Check isn't your seed, but it's related to your seed. The RNG Reporter can correctly predict the value that will be given when you hit your seed if you enter it into "Seed to Time" and generate the adjacent results. Unfortunately you can't search through them by "C-Gear Seed Displayed," so it may be beneficial to output them to .csv so you have the benefit of control + f.

And be sure to convert the values you get from the code to hex before you stack them together.

How do I output them? And convert the values? Not sure if it helps my question but I'm using a retail cart.

Man it's a real pain knowing what seed you hit. Stat calculators like on serebii and psypokes generally give you results that say the IVs are 1-2, 3-4, 15-16, 14-15, 14-15, 28-29 etc so it's really hard to put that in to rng reporter to verify exactly what seed you hit because you just don't know which combinations of the choices of two to put in. I keep getting no results found =/

You can't verify your seed or delay no matter what you do, not without using an Action Replay, and that defeats the purpose of RNGing in the first place. The only way to verify your seed and delay is to actually catch your target Pokemon.

For C-Gear spreads, the DS you use does NOT matter.

Is there a different method to RNGing Volcarona? It seems that even if I "know" I'm hitting my delay, there's no result showing up for its IVs. I use an IV check and when I input those IVs in Search IVs, it says there's no match that's been found. While all of my previous RNGs for Black show IVs in the results. Has anyone had this trouble with Volcarona?

I figured....but it's a pain to do so. I use the Check IV feature in the Seed to Time option after I catch Zekrom, and only once has the result shown in the list of delay. Any reasoning for that?

(In other words, having the same problem that Rugajii and Tornado have.)

the rng reporter keeps telling me there are no matches for the iv's i put in it,does that mean am not even close to my delay
Increase the maximum frame, and increase your maximum delay.

To get a good list, you want your maximum frame around 30-50 and your delay range from 1500 to 10,000

Can someone confirm for me that this doesn't autosave if you get defeated by N? I am going to catch Resh, then use Metalkids IV calculator and record the stats for it at lv 50-51-52-53 and 54 as I have 4 rare candies, and see if I can figure out the exact iv spread I hit that way.....

Just want to make sure the game wont autosave if i lose to N!!

No, the game doesn't autosave.

Check its Hidden Power in the Mistralton City Pokémon center. Should narrow it down a lot at the very least.

I have a question about Calibration for C-Gear seeds: Do you have to calibrate every time you want to RNG, or just once? And, how many times should you catch a pokemon/check its IVs when you calibrate?
