Beartic (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Snow Cloak
EVs: 172 HP / 84 Atk / 252 SDef
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Bulk Up
- Avalanche
- Brick Break
- Night Slash

What does avalanche have over icicle crash? Besides, you know, negetive priority? :P

What does avalanche have over icicle crash? Besides, you know, negetive priority? :P

''Avalanche deals damage and is a decreased priority move, causing the user to attack after other Pokémon that are using ordinary priority moves. If the user takes damage in the same turn, Avalanche's power is doubled to 120.''

(On non-attacking moves, such as toxic or stealth rocks for example, it still has base 60 power)

Icicle crash is base 85, 90% accuracy. The flinching chance is silly because base 50 speed is bad.

If I'm wrong, please correct me:)

but I think avalanche is a better option for a base 50 speed Pokemon.

Just had an idea:

Choice Band Samurott

Choice Band
Naughty (+Atk, -SpD)
252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe

-Razor Shell
-Aqua Jet
-Megahorn
-Ice Beam

It's one of those wrecking ball wallbreaker types that switches in, KOes something, and switches out again. I chose Razor Shell because the 50% chance of a Defense drop could make potential checks much easier to deal with (a la Seed Flare Skymin). Max Speed probably isn't needed, but it might come in handy for Zweilous, Ludicolo, and Torterra sometime. Ice Beam is for Tangela and Altaria, which are both outsped and 2HKOed on the switch in.

Mixed Attacker

Expertbelt
Naughty (+Atk, -SpD)
EVs: 112 HP / 132 Atk / 116 SAtk / 148 Spd

-Razor Shell/Waterfall
-Megahorn/HP Electric
-Encore/Toxic
-Ice Beam

a choice band would limit Sam's potential and make it bait for setting up, ect. I think you could do well with bluffing a choice item.

Using razor shell isn't exactly a safe option but I do like the idea of the defence drop. 95% it worth a gamble.

Icebeam is for coverage against the threats you stated above.
Encore/Toxic is to pretty much fill the move slot. It could double as an antilead with encore or you could run toxic - Both to cripple things. Encore can also help against persky things that like to set up, it's unexpected.

I also put Megahorn/HP Electric these moves are either for the Boltbeam coverage or the massive amount that megahorn to grass/psychic types.

with this EV spread you're able to outspeed Adamant Torterra and Modest Exeggutor

*just an idea*

Hone Claws Hypnosis
Purugly @ Life Orb / Focus Sash
Trait: Thick Fat
EVs: 4 Hp / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature (+Spe, -SAtk)
- Return
- Hone Claws
- Hypnosis
- Iron Tail
Just a cool set that I've swept some people with. How to use this set is pretty self-explanatory. The Life Orb can be used for extra power but the Focus Sash can be used to take a hit from a scarfer and OHKO it with a Return if you have a few Hone Claws' up. I recommend leading with this set so you can possibly get up a Hone Claws against a Stealth Rocker and put something to sleep with the boosted accuracy Hypnosis. Set up one or two more Hone Claws' and you're ready to sweep (with a Purugly)!

Ok, I know a lot of people think other exeggutor sets outclass this one, but I think it plays an entirely different role. This set fits in well with a more stall oriented team rather than an offensive one, and from my experience using it, it does a very good job in catching opponents off guard while stalling out majority of things it comes up against. I would normally switch this into something that it resists, and preferably out speeds/can force it out. proceeds to set up sub and away we go.

Offensive Subseed.

103.png

Exeggutor (F) @ Sitrus Berry Trait: Harvest
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Psychic
- Giga Drain
- Leech Seed
- Substitute

Being an offensive subseeder means its able to kill stuff on the switch that may counter this set (see emboar, swellow)

Now you might say grass types wall this like most subseeders, while some do, both Tangela and Amoonguss, are 2hko'd and 1hko'd respectively by psychic. The main thing that counters it is CM serperior which ive seen a couple of times on the ladder (which now i think about it may have been the same person) cacturne is also a bit of a problem, though gigadrain does break its sub, so you can beat it 1v1 if you make the right moves. Other than fast revenge killers, not much can destroy this set.

Gardevoir @ Life Orb
Trait: Trace
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature (+Spe, -Atk)
- Psychic
- Focus Blast
- Shadow Ball
- Healing Wish

This thing is legitimately the sex. It hits hard as fuck with a Life Orb attached, and with its already good speed can act as a great wall breaker. With Trace, Gardevoir can just Trace Swift Swim or Chlorophyll or something and sweep an opposing team under the corresponding weather. And with Healing Wish, when Life Orb recoil / passive damage takes its toll, just heal something else the fuck up.

It's honestly amazing.

Another one:

Lickilicky (M) @ Life Orb Trait: Cloud Nine
EVs: 152 HP / 148 Atk / 40 SAtk / 40 SDef / 128 Spd
Lonely Nature (+Atk, -Def)
- Work Up
- Power Whip
- Fire Blast
- Frustration

I have this baby on my hax team, and it's kind of a monster. Pretty much Raseri and I went...hmm...we need a good weather check and a cool Pokemon that beats Tangela / Alomomola and other various threats to the team. Bam Work Up Lickilicky was born! We abuse Paralysis on this team a fuck ton, and that's kind of greatly influential to Lickilicky's success, but that's okay. The evs are pretty specific. The attack investment will OHKO Charizard with a +1 Frustration and 2HKO Alomomola with Power Whip. The Special Attack guarantees the OHKO on either Amoonguss or Vileplume with a +1 Fire Blast (I don't remember, sorry). The HP evs give it 399 HP, which rounds down with Life Orb. Rest goes in special defense, so it can still act as a bit of a tank if necessary. What's cool about it is Cloud Nine--fuck Solar Power Charizard and such. It lets it tank a hit if necessary and kick some ass when it has to. Plus it still hits hard as fuck even if you can't set up. A+++++++, but loves paralysis so so so much.

Top 10 Leads in NU

| 1 | Golem | 4291 | 8.883% |
| 2 | Regirock | 2195 | 4.544% |
| 3 | Armaldo | 1619 | 3.352% |
| 4 | Gigalith | 1210 | 2.505% |
| 5 | Probopass | 1179 | 2.441% |
| 6 | Electrode | 1159 | 2.399% |
| 7 | Bastiodon | 1005 | 2.080% |
| 8 | Ninjask | 956 | 1.979% |
| 9 | Miltank | 953 | 1.973% |
| 10 | Garbodor | 916 | 1.896% |

Notice that 7 out of the top 10 leads have access to stealth rocks and 6 out of those 7 are weak to fighting.

Although the easiest method of preventing stealth rocks being set up is having a lead taunt user that most player s can see from a mile away.

Lead Machoke puts many opponents is tough position. stay in and set up rocks? or switch in something else to take a hit delaying those rocks being set up.

even pokemon with Sturdy such as Golem can potentially have their sturdy broken purely because of bad luck from confusion.

If you're really good you can predict the ghost switch in and give them a super effective hit from payback. Although most Misdreavus sets carrying taunt and Will-o-wisp beat Machoke one on one because she can burn Machoke and prevent him from Using rest or sleep talk with taunt

67.png

[SET]
name: Anti- Lead
move 1: Dynamic Punch
move 2: Ice Punch / Payback
move 3: Rest
move 4: Sleep Talk
item: Evolite
ability: No Guard
nature: Adamant
evs: 208 HP / 252 Att / 48 Spe

The 48 Speed EVs are to beat all those rock types on the list above, particularly Regirock with 4 Evs invested in Speed. The rest goes into bulk and attack.

Dynamic Punch is the main stab option to confuse all your opponents not ghost type. I personally prefer Ice punch in the second slot to hit flying types and Tangela on the switch although all of them won't like dynamic punch either but you generally want to save as Dynamic punch's pp especially in prolonged matches. Payback is also a good option to hit ghost switching in, although Misdreavus stills walls you but Payback will still hurt. I've gotten lucky a couple of times with ice punch freezing Misdreavus but probably isn't worth considering with it's very low chance.

Rest & Sleep Talk Completes this move set allowing Machoke a way to recover health and status while still taking part in the battle. It also makes a decent sleep absorber especially to Tangela who awaits a nasty surprise from sleep talk.

Lead Torterra

Leftovers
Adamant
252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def

-Bullet Seed
-Earthquake
-Stealth Rock
-Synthesis

The main idea that led me to this set is using Bullet Seed to take out Golem before it can set up Stealth Rock. The set itself has a good mix of power and bulk, can set up its own rocks, and has recovery. Bullet Seed is actually pretty useful for Substitute users. Looking at the top 10 leads list up there, Torterra is actually a pretty good matchup for almost all of them.

I ran that Torterra a while ago when I got really annoyed with Golem leads, and can confirm its legit. Its a shame it becomes Charizard / Sawsbuck bait, but it does so well against common leads it kind of makes up for it.
