Hi, Bronze 1 player here (and former s2 silver) with some words to say
A little backstory here. I bombed placements and yoloed ranked a little too hard near the end of s2 so I first ended up in Bronze 4 season 3 two weeks ago. As you can imagine I didn't receive this very well and I felt stuck in elo hell. Every match felt like a coinflip..
But you must believe that elo hell doesn't exist. I can't stress this enough.
After a few matches I decided to re-evaluate myself. Ok, I've fought against much higher level players than these losers before with good results. Why am I still stuck in Bronze? What am I doing wrong? What can I do to fix it and show these people how it's really done?
Shortly before I got placed, Indra used a smurf to get himself into Bronze 5, only to carry himself out and is now Silver 1 or something. He said it was very easy. Looking at his scores, he ended with hypercarry scores using Vayne, singlehandedly carrying his team through sheer force.
I realized that while I can easily win lane against these people, I am not talented enough to outright crush them to singlehandedly carry the feeders. However, I do know that games aren't always decided by immense scores. To give you an example - me and whistle duoed yesterday and he carried with 0/7 Singed. What does that say? (Nevermind the fact that Singed is a dumb champion LOL). It means that you can win by simply outwitting your opponent. Believe me, there's a LOT of room for that in Bronze.
With that said, I recommend practicing shotcalling (and it's something i'm trying to do atm..with rather mixed results, but I know that when mastered it becomes a very powerful tool in all elo, and so I shall continue to learn). Get used to finding opportunities to force objectives and direct your team to it AS CLEARLY AS POSSIBLE (don't lead them to their doom though). When you want to to baron, for instance, you'd ward everything around it, including the entrances to their jungle, to cover as much vision as possible, and start attacking it. Chances are, your team will follow.
Of course, it's important that as a shotcaller you don't feed and make your team angry. If you believe that you're not a Bronze player, at least show some validity in your score.
Shotcalling was mainly how I crawled out of Bronze 4 and into Bronze 1. Even though it is incredibly shaky at the moment, it was sufficient to help me out here.
The other thing I want to say is that being able to control emotions is also very important. I feel like I'm a victim to this issue a lot because when my team starts feeding I began to really lose control. Sometimes when I don't do well I lose a lot of control too. Then after the game I realize that I played it so stupidly and I know -I- could've played that much better.
If all else fails, find a duo queue partner. It'll help form synergies and give you an outlet to talk about the game with. Discuss what went wrong and right and this could eventually become a habit.
And speaking of duo queue, add me (ign: Jibaku) if you'd like a duo queue partner. Together, we can find ourselves out of bronze. Although I'm working on getting out ASAP already so....
Also, duoing with people on a much higher division than you can help you get a feel of how the game is played at your (in your interpretation) appropriate division. It's a nice breath of fresh air, but don't always expect everything to turn out nicely. Earlier in this thread I posted how mid-Silver people are still incredibly stupid.
Lastly, try to keep a positive attitude in game and stop blaming your teammates for everything that went wrong. I understand that they will inevitably make a lot of mistakes, but causing a toxic atmosphere doesn't solve anything.
TL; DR: Don't believe in elo hell, Practice shotcalling, find a duo queue partner. You'll find surviving easier.
