The "I Have no Idea What I'm Doing but I Love Mienshao" Team

This is my first Pokemon team ever and I don't have a clue what I'm doing. I like battling competitively with it, though, but its probably horribly flawed as it is now. I'd love to hear some more experienced players' opinions on it!

As it stands, Trevent (and most Pokemon that end up using Substitute -- so maybe it's not my team, but my inexperience) and Ferrothorn can completely tear my team to shreds, but I'm not sure if it would be worth it to switch out a team member or two just to counter them.

Now Presenting the Lovely 'I Have no Idea What I'm Doing but I Love Mienshao' Team!

Mamoswine @ Life Orb
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Ice Shard
- Stealth Rock
- Icicle Crash

I feel like Mamoswine isn't that effective as a lead Pokemon, but I'm not sure if I should replace him because of how insanely powerful he is. Ice Shard as a priority move is a life saver and Earthquake is a great move that do do some heavy damage to the other team, even if Mamoswine faints early. If I'm confident that I can OHKO the opposing team's lead Pokemon then I will forget about Stealth Rock and possibly use it later if Ice Shard would be a meaningless counter.

Dragonite @ Leftovers
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 252 SDef / 252 HP / 4 SAtk
Calm Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Flamethrower
- Thunder Wave
- Roost

Dragonite is probably my favorite Pokemon on the team. Thunder Wave proves to be effective if I'm in a situation where he can be killed in two hits and I'm hanging on with Roost. Once the other Pokemon is immobilized, Dragonite can either heal back to having Marvel Scale, or have a less risky attack. He's extremely bulky and the combination of Roost and Marvel Scale and save him from lethal ice attacks when necessary. However, he is my only real counter for Ferrothorn, who can shred through my team. Even so, Flamethrower isn't enough to take Ferrothorn out. I know Fire Blast would probably work better, but its accuracy is too low.

Magnezone @ Focus Sash
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 HP / 4 Spd
Modest Nature
- Volt Switch
- Protect
- Flash Cannon
- Thunderbolt

I don't like Magnezone on the team, but I can't find a viable replacement for him. The Electric STAB comes in handy and he's one of two special attackers on my team, but don't like how he can be OHKOed by almost everything. What Magnezone is especially good at that makes me think twice about replacing him is that he's the perfect counter to the usually threatening Aegislash. One Thunderbolt can destory it, and Magnet Pull traps it.

Chansey @ Eviolite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Bold Nature
- Toxic
- Soft-Boiled
- Protect
- Dazzling Gleam

Chansey has surprisingly saved my team many times. She can poison and stall her way through anything that's not immune to Toxic and has caused many a rage quits for teams without a counter to her. Since Dragonite is extremely effective with Leftovers, I decided to choose Chansey over Leftovers Blissey since Chansey can hold the Eviolite. Dazzling Gleam is pretty useless with her pathetic Attack stat, but I don't really need to use anything other than Toxic, Protect, and Soft-Boiled.

Mienshao @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Reckless
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Jolly Nature
- High Jump Kick
- Aerial Ace
- U-turn
- Stone Edge

I love Mienshao, despite how much of a gamble she is to use. I based my team around her, so her and Dragonite are the ones I know I want to keep on the team for sure. High Jump Kick seems to rarely miss, and if I suspect that the opposing team's Pokemon is going to counter her with Protect, than her other moves are okay as well. Her STAB High Jump Kick with the combination of Reckless, the Choice Scarf and her crazy high Attack make her a deadly revenge killer. Usually just one attack can take her down, but she usually can make at least one Pokemon faint. I've had times where she plows through half of the opposing team.

Scizor @ Scizorite
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 Spd
Impish Nature
- Swords Dance
- Bullet Punch
- Roost
- U-turn

Another Pokemon I'm not sure about. He looks fine on paper, but never seems to work well when I use him in battle. Things go fine I've I'm able to use Swords Dance and Bullet Punch, but I usually don't even get a chance to use any moves on Scizor since so many things can OHKO him like my Magnezone. Roost is particularly useful. I felt like I should have a Mega on my team since they're so powerful.

Mienshao should really have regenerator. This makes it a real threat that keeps on coming back. You also have 2 u-turn users and 1 volt switch user, so you have the beginnings of a volt-turn team. Regenerator is fantastic when toy switch in and out often.

I would switch mamoswine to a forretress with the standard lead moveset. It can set up hazards with ease, switch out with volt switch, and, more importantly, rapid spin. If your team switches a lot (which it looks like it does), then this will be invaluable.

Chansey doesn't seem to be doing a great job as a cleric, and your team doesn't look stally enough to want protect. I would switch protect to aromatherapy and dazzling gleam to seismic toss.

Magnezone can lose the protect for hp ice or fire, and switch from a sash to choice specs or scarf.

Someone to consider instead of chansey or magnezone is Jirachi. Jirachi gets u-turn, provides wish support, and can use paraflinch to tear through enemies.

Definitely go with Fire Blast on Dragonite. 85% accuracy isn't bad at all compared to stuff like Stone Edge or Focus Blast, and it allows you to OHKO Ferro after stealth rock damage.

Thanks for the suggestions guys! I switched out Mamoswine for Forretress which is definitely more effective, especially if people don't know how to to deal with him. I'm experimentally trying out Trevent in the place of Magenezone, but I realized that Magnezone was a good ghost killer so I might switch him back in.

Also, Mienshao with Regenerator is ruthless, wow.

My main threat seems to be Thunder Wave/Subsititute Klefki leads now. They're great Forretress counters.

Magnezone with hidden power fire and choice specs. can't be paralyzed so you only have to get lucky and land one or two hidden power fire's and the klefki will go down.
