Swords Dance
########
Name: Swords Dance
Move 1: Swords Dance
Move 2: Spore
Move 3: Mach Punch
Move 4: Seed Bomb / Bullet Seed
Ability: Technician
Item: Life Orb
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Nature: Adamant

Moves
========

This is the main setup set you would want to use for Breloom. It already has a great Attack stat and it will only be further boosted with Swords Dance. Spore is used for utility and will help guarantee a Swords Dance will come off. Even though Grass-types are no longer affected by Spore, there are not common Grass-type leads except occasionally Ferrothorn and is therefore still worth using. Mach Punch is a strong priority move that will help take out weakened opponents. Bullet Seed is the STAB move of choice as with Technician it is stronger than Seed Bomb when hit three or more times.

Set Details
========

The EV spread listed is normal for a physical sweeper as you want to hit as hard as possible before fainting. Life Orb helps with this by only making its offensive power only more powerful. Downside to this is the health after each attack. Adamant nature makes sure that Breloom hits as strong as possible. Jolly is an option but does not really grant the benefits that would make it the preferred nature.

Usage Tips
========

Breloom faces more competition than last generation but still functions as a great revenge killer having Mach Punch on par with Scizor and Bullet Punch. In addition to being a revenge killer, Breloom is also a great physical sweeper and after a Swords Dance or two can break through powerful walls. Another upside to this set is that Breloom can ohko the common sets for threats like Mega Lucario and Excadrill.

Team Options
========

Considering this set is Swords Dance, once you have set up you will not be switching much. Therefore, you want pokemon that can take out the counters before. Rotom-W is a great fit to really any team and in this case, it synergizes well with Breloom and can take out its threats. Also, pokemon that can set hazards like Stealth Rocks and Spikes are beneficial. They will help cripple pokemon that think they can switch in to Breloom. Also, if Breloom has already had a Swords Dance, it may be able to ko them with Mach Punch after hazard damage.

  • Mega Charizard Y Destroys Breloom
  • So Does Talonflame

This has to be in bullet points or QC won't check it :(

Also, Seed Bomb shouldn't be an option at all over Bullet Seed with Technician. Technician Bullet Seed does 37.5 per hit, so the minimum damage you'll be doing is 75 with two hits (just a tad bit less than Seed Bomb). Whenever you get anything more than 2 hits, Bullet Seed will far outdamage Seed Bomb, so don't even include it. Keep in mind this is just for the Technician sets, since with Poison Heal, Seed Bomb will usually do more damage.

Ok thanks. Wait? The entire thing needs to be in bullet points. Team options and everything?

I don't think Choice Scarf warrants a slash on the main set. There are plenty of better scarfers right now, and with so many common pokemon resisting Breloom's STABs it is just too weak. I also think that, despite the nerf, Spore should get a slash, probably with Force Palm. It's still very useful as a 100% accurate sleep move. Focus Sash definitely needs to be in there
I think the first set should look like this:

Physically Offensive
########
Name: Physically Offensive
Move 1: Mach Punch
Move 2: Spore / Force Palm
Move 3: Bullet Seed
Move 4: Stone Edge / Rock Tomb
Ability: Technician
Item: Life Orb / Focus Sash
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Nature: Adamant / Jolly

Choice Scarf and Choice Band are probably better in OO, imo.

In the checks and counters you really need to add grass-types immune to Spore and resist Fighting, eg Celebi, Mega Venu etc.

Also i doubt the effectiveness of the Sub PuP set, but QC can comment on that in more detail

I'm sorry, and I don't mean to be blunt, but this is clearly not going anywhere good. I understand that this is your first analysis, but I would suggest that you familiarize yourself more with the OU metagame, our process, and our grammatical standards before you attempt another analysis.

This analysis is being returned to the unreserved pool.
