Can You Play An Instrument?

I can play three instruments actually, though not as well as I would like.

I started playing drums about 6 years ago. I took a few lessons from a Spanish guy at an old church; after a few lessons he was too busy to really teach me anymore so I started teaching myself. I started out as a scrawny little kid trying to keep a beat for my dad's band, and I learned fast because I was playing with (relatively) experienced musicians.

I took up guitar and bass guitar at about the same time -- a little more than a year ago. I'm not that good at either of them yet, but I can play more than just tabs; I learned a bit of basic music theory from my dad, which helps a lot. Just like I did when I was learning to play drums, I try to play with people who are much better than me; even though it's stressful sometimes, it really forces you to improve fast.

That's it: drums, guitar, and bass guitar. I've been in plenty of bands, though none of them were really successful. In fact, most of them kind of sucked.

So, what do you play?

i go to school partially on a trumpet scholarship

also play or have played: french horn, bass, guitar, piano, drums

I played piano for a while when I was younger and quit playing it about 2 years ago. I'm rusty beyond belief now, but in the future I probably wouldn't like to relearn the piano again. I've said this before, but I want to someday learn the guitar or bass guitar. I know I would be MUCH more interested in that than in piano.

I've been playing Piano for something like ten years, so I'm pretty good at it. I'm taking music theory classes in school this year for it, and perform every once in a while. I've been playing guitar for about four years. I taught myself for about a year and got pretty damn far, then got a teacher to learn the more advanced stuff. I really like it alot. and played in a band for about a year. I got a bass about a year ago and I'm competant at it, and i can keep a simple beat on the drums if i need to, but i don't really play either. I'm considering picking up a sax, because I'm getting really into jazz.

So that's my musical history, not bad if you ask me, considering I'm only 15, but whatever

well well chaos i didn't know you were such a talented tim

And Groudon it shouldn't be hard at all for you to pick up guitar since you have a background in music already. Bass guitar is even easier, because all you really have to play are root notes when you're backing up a song.

I've played clarinet for seven years and taken private lessons during that entire span. I also play bass clarinet and sopranissimo clarinet, but those aren't much different from the standard soprano clarinet.

I enjoy playing around on the piano whenever I'm in the mood, but I'm not seriously into it.

Yep..

I totally suck at trumpet though.. Trombone, Flute & Guitar I am a little more proficient at.. Though, in the case of Guitar, only a little more..

Have a nice day.

Two actually... Baritone horn/euphonium and tenor sax. By extension, I am moderately good at trombone, trumpet, and alto sax.

I've played a couple of instruments over the years. Clarinet for about seven years, then stopped taking lessons after getting immensely bored with it. Bass for almost two years now and started playing double bass two months ago. I can also play saxaphone a bit.

That sucks, because looking back on my youth one of my greatest regrets was not taking advantage of the piano that was in my parents' house and learning how to play it. The piano, in my opinion, is the most beautiful instrument, bar none.

I myself have played guitar for going on about 8 years, I can never remember anymore. I also played french horn for 3 years in middle school.

I've been playing guitar for about three years, and I'm currently trying to learn how to play the piano. I should really study some more music theory though...

chaos is a band geek.

I play trumpet, but I'm last chair :P I'm only in it for the free admission to sporting events and the easy A. I also play piano, and I'm pretty decent at ad libbing percussion.

Pretty much any instrument you dont have to blow into i could manage to play based on experience with similar instruments...

Drums, guitar, mallet instruments (xylophone, marimba, etc), auxilary percussion ;) are the big ones, with me being able to somewhat play bass with guitar knowledge and piano with mallet knowledge.

I am a lead percussionist in a toronto based symphonic orchestra (basically a compilation of the best high school music students in Toronto) and have experience both in an orchestra and in a rock band (Me and KidA jam a lot, he is one of the best guitarists i know!).

So that is the musical history of jackal!

I've played piano for something like 4-5 years (i'm 13) and am pretty good. I've played in church for the offeratory several times now. I tried guitar but I never really got into it, so I think i'm going to stick with piano.

I've been playing Viola/Violin since I was like 5, and I've been at guitar for 2.5 years now. I'd say I'm pretty damn good at the former, and better than most of the people you know at the latter.

I'm learning how to play Piano, currently.

I used to take Tenor Saxophone lessons in middle school for 3 years, and played in the school band... I must say, I was fairly good. But I haven't taken a lesson or played in a year, so I'm kinda rusty at playing and don't really plain to start again. =\
