Hi guys and girls! This is my first crack at a competitive online team. I feel as if I lack the idea of synergy and chemistry within my team due to being a beginner and lack of knowledge on how to build a successful team. I did my research on these forums on how to build a good overall team and I'm giving it a shot. All my pokemon have perfect IV's.
The Team:
1. Scizor- Adamant- Technician @ Choice band, EV's are 252 Atk, 252 HP, 6 Speed.
Move set: U- Turn, Bullet Punch, Pursuit, Quick Attack.
I feel Scizor is at his best with Choice Band, working as a revenge killer, and a good switcher. Play testing him online showed he is a very good answer for most fairy pokemon, except Mega Mawile. But I feel he is very viable and a huge threat to many teams .
2. Talonflame- Adamant- Gale Wings @ Life Orb, EV's are 252 Atk, 148 Speed, 110 HP.
Move Set: Sword Dance, Roost, Brave Bird, Flare Blitz.
This is my sweeper, he is a wrecking ball with priority, stab brave bird. Roost is for survival, and Flare Blitz is a nice stab coverage move. Im debating between him or a choice scarf Chandelure. I have been using both online and I really like Chandelures coverage with shadowball, and energy ball, but i believe priority brave bird is just too good.
3. Togekiss- Calm- Serene Grace @ Leftovers, EV's are 252 HP, 252 Special D, 6 SpAtk.
Move set: Thunderwave, Roost, Airslash, Dazzling Gleam.
Togekiss is my special defensive wall, with the annoyance of para- flinch. This pokemon has been an absolute beast for me with its ability to survive through roost and leftovers. And when para flinch is locked in hes almost impossible to touch. i felt as if nasty plot is useless because it would only benefit airslash, and dazzling gleam provides more coverage.
4. Ferrothorn- Relaxed- Iron Barbs @ Rocky Helm, EV's are 252 HP, 200 SpDef, 48 Def.
Move set: Toxic, Leach seed, stealth rock, protect.
I went with a more rounded defensive wall in Ferrothorn because I believe people typically avoid using physical attacks on him, and his D is very high as is. He is usually my lead to set up Rocks, and i believe gyro ball isnt all that strong and overall protect does more work when leach seed/ toxic is up and running. But the absence of gyro give him no attack so a taunt pokemon, or wall fight can cause a lot of trouble. But i typically use him to switch a lot regardless, so I dont really see Gyro ball being that viable. But please correct me if i am wrong, again im new to this lol.
5. Jellicent- Calm- Water Absorb- @ Lum Berry EV's are 252 HP, 252 SpDef, 6 Def
Move set: Recover, Confuse Ray, Taunt, Scald
My other wall pokemon, He is very good on the switch to cover Ferrothorn, and Talonflame, fearing a fire or water move, and he is also my taunter. Im not sure on his item though, I figured he would also want leftovers, but as i am already using it on Togekiss, i went with the Lum Berry for status repair.
6. Kangaskhan- Jolly- Scrappy @ Kangaskhanite, EV's are 252 Atk, 252 Speed, 6 Health.
Move Set- Power up Punch, Return, Fake- out, Sucker Punch.
This pokemon is just a monster, I know she is cheesy to use but I really dont know other viable megas that would compliment my team, please if you have any ideas share them. But as of now this is my mega and she is great.
I cannot load the Gen 6 Pokemon in the Marriland team builder so i just typed down my team, please voice your opinion on my team and any alternatives you may think are more viable or better items let me know. I'm new to this so every opinion matters to me!!! thank you so much ! and let me know what you think for my first crack at making a competitive team!
