Unless you're going for a mixed attacker 6 IV is rather pointless, you're better off sticking with the tried and true 31/x/31/31/31/31 and 31/31/31/x/31/31 spreads. and to answer your question, no the breeding mechanic has not changed

IMO, though like you said - none are really perfect.
It is NOT ok to ask this repeatedly (an hour between posting) and on the same page. Doing so is open to infraction. In the time you spent waiting between posts, you could have easily found your own Metal Coat (Magnemite hold them) or Destiny Knot (given by a Young Couple)
If you're resetting the game after checking the IVs and picking u p the same egg from the daycare, then the egg will be exactly the same. This is where XY and BW differ. In BW you could save in front of the man and pick up the egg and hatch it, if it wasn't to your liking you could just reset and pick up the same egg. This was because the egg's contents were decided upon picking it up. In XY (and ORAS) the egg's contents are decided when that egg is generated. To get a new egg, you need to pick up the next egg that the daycare offers you, otherwise you'll just keep picking up the same egg over and over. This is the whole idea behind the 'Time Machine Breeding Method.'
If you aren't Time Machine breeding then you should just collect a party full of eggs ad hatch all 5 before checking. That's the most efficient way...
I'm trying to catch an Ultra Ball Kakuna in FS so I can get the HA but I'm not having any luck. Just want to confirm:
Because Kakuna doesn't have a HA, I need to evolve it into Beedrill and check if it has Sniper (HA) that way?

Yep, catch, evolve, SR (optional). I catch Pupitar this way.
In my experience, it's about 1/5. Don't know the official rates, though.

If I worked it out right (using http://mkwrs.com/destiny_knot/):
Breeding parents 31/31/31/31/31/31 and x/31/x/31/31/x, with a 0.0073% modifier,
will produce a 31/x/31/31/31/31 Pokemon 0.0002% of the time or 1 out of every 524288 eggs!
Well if the HP was 30, and so was Defence... I think that it would be HP Ice right? If so, you were so close :s
But afaik, calm Thundurus, in a VCG context for instance, doesn't necessarily need HP Ice... Its near flawless the way it is, I've seen people keep way worse ones :)
You can always tell yourself that 30=31 at lv50 if uninvested, if that makes you feel any better :P

Very simple, I have no real reason to back up my save. My other 3DS still makes use of the QR code (also for save file restoration), which is a lot faster. Plus, the Powersaves won't always connect (I heard it's a bug with the cable or something). Aside from SRing, nothing of interest happens in my aS lol.
I guess I'll just keep this Thundurus and back up my save file the next time I restart my game.

And yeah, I use that thread often to check for matches. I'm also on Reddit, so I basically have four chances for a match (Masuda and non-Masuda and on Smogon/Reddit). Just got back home, so imma check my TSVs lol.
(speaking of Reddit, I still have some eggs I need to get hatched now that I think about it...)

No, it really doesn't. Just save before engaging them. Fight them (with a strong team if you have too) and reset until you get it. I got it on the fifth try or something.
I think it's pretty standard that any item that's available in-game should be obtained in game. Like in my books, it's ok to ask for Master Balls for instance, since you might need those and you only get 1... But a Destiny Knot is standard.
Also, regarding your previous request on Metal Coat, it's super easy to get that too, have a Compoundeyes Yanma leading your party (increase chance of wild pokemon holding an item by 30% or something) and fight Magnemites. Yanma can learn Thief, so you can use that to take the metalcoat. If you don't steal anything, rinse, repeat. This is only one of many ways to harvest wild pokemon held items in ORAS
EDIT: well to be fair, I'd ask for a metalcoat since I play on Y and have no friend safari with metang in it... But that's a particular situation

So to clarify:
In older generations, you could keep saving in front of the daycare and hatching eggs until you got the PID (Nature, Gender, Ability) that you wanted. Once you found that egg, you could just keep resetting until you got your desired IV spread.
This is no longer the case in X/Y, as saving in front of the daycare and hatching the "same" egg will net you the same Nature, Gender, and Ability, but will also net you the same exact IV spread/inheritance?

Do anyone have a female Yanma with Frisk in a dusk ball? IVs and nature doesn't matter. I've been battling 10 hordes but no one appears (and now it rains on Route 10...) CMT or VM me so we can set on a trade :)
