VGC The VGC team of Odd Pokemon

Hey guys, this is my first time on this site!

Bold to indicate changes!

I was wondering if anyone could take a look at my weird team, its a bit unconventional but Ive tested these pokes and they work well with their sets and i really want to use them.

Ive also included a "Side Board" this is just alternate pokemon i could use other than the ones you may suggest!

Anyway

THE TEAM

Behemoth (Mamoswine) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 104 HP / 252 Atk / 152 Def
Adamant Nature
- Ice Shard
- Knock Off
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide/Superpower

Okay so i run this set because it works well when put against fire types, it isn't my first option when against a fire type but it does help to know that I've got a Pokemon that wont get obliterated by fire and ice :)

So Ice shard really helps against Salamence, Lando, Garchomp and even Thundurus. it also works for a nice priority move.

Knock off works because i see my Mamoswine as a brutal attacker and tank, the knock off hits ghost and psychic types and helps when trying to disable Pokemon. Knock off 2HKO Mega Gengar and OHKO Gengar when holding a item.

Earthquake for stab and just major amounts of damage, helps against Heatran and will 2HKO if not OHKO it.

Rock slide for Charizard, Talonflame and spreading a bit of damage.

Assault vest helps Mamoswine take some Scalds and even the odd Hydropump.

Leviathan (Gyarados-Mega) @ Gyaradosite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 88 Atk / 168 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Earthquake
- Ice Fang

Okay so i wanted to focus on making a real tanky Gyarados and I've tested it and it works surprisingly well especially against its weaknesses.

Dragon Dance for setup of course :P

Waterfall for stab damage

Earthquake for taking advantage of mold breaker to hit Rotom which usually walls Gyarados fairly well.

Ice fang for Thundurus, Lando and a lot of dragon types.

Ductee (Aerodactyl) @ Life Orb
Ability: Unnerve
EVs: 80 HP / 252 Atk / 176 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Sky Drop
- Rock Slide
- Tailwind
- Ice Fang

OR

Ductee (Aerodactyl) @ Life Orb
Ability: Unnerve
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Sky Drop
- Rock Slide
- Tailwind
- Ice Fang

So i love using this Pokemon because its fast and quite brutal, the fast rock slide works for me and it just got even better when i found out about sky drop. the ability to arrange my attacks so i can sky drop Pokemon to avoid another Pokemon taking a hit is great

Jolly outspeeds Mega Salamence, Adamant deals more damage

Sky drop for stab, blocking attacks to Pokes and for stalling turns (Trust me it really helps)

Rock slide for stab and major damage

Tailwind for speeding up my Pokemon.

Ice fang for hitting dragons.

Bruce Lee (Hitmonlee) normal gem
Ability: Unburden
EVs: 252 Hp/ 252 Atk
Adamant Nature
- High Jump Kick
- Fake out
- Blaze Kick
- Rock Slide

I love using Hitmonlee because its a great fake out pokemon and a great sweeper all at the same time. the unburden helps

High jump kick is major stab and does loads even to resisting pokemon
Fake out works for stalling, extra damage and preventing moves.
Blaze kick helps for Scizor and Ferrothorn
Finally rock slide because i know i have a lot of rock slide on this team but it becomes brutal with a double rock slide in a turn.

LoL-Punny @Lopunnite
Ability: Limber
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 speed
Jolly Nature
- High Jump Kick/Low Kick
- Fake out
- Return
- Encore

Thanks to suggestions, i now have a better set for my Lopunny :D

High Jump Kick for stab
Fake out for awesomeness
Return for stab
Encore for shutdown

Wolf Of Helios (Arcanine) Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 hp / 128 atk / 128 Spdef
Adamant Nature
- Morning Sun/Protect
- Flare Blitz
- Will-o-Wisp
- Snarl

Side-Board

Darksun (Ninetales) Choice Specs
Ability: Drought
EVs: 252 spatk / 252 speed
Timid Nature
- Heat wave
- Overheat
- Solar beam
- Extrasensory

Ninetales is a great specs pokemon, drought boosts its fire moves making its heat wave insanely strong. Charizard Y may be better but Ninetales isnt a mega. Solarbeam hits water and rock while the Overheat hits anything you need knock out quickly.

Meteo2 (Noivern) @ White Herb
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 8 HP / 252 SpA / 248 Spe
Modest Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Hurricane
- Roost
- Tailwind

Mainly because it works as a tank buster and support. Noivern with Infiltrator works so well at preventing pokemon from protecting with sub, the white herb allows a double Draco before switching and the hurricane works as the other stab.

Slam-O-Dile (Krookodile) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Moxie
EVs: 56 HP / 252 Atk / 80 SpD / 120 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Knock Off
- Earthquake
- Dragon Claw
- Rock Slide

Lets face it, moxie is brutal... choice scarf knock off moxie. Is absolutely mean. With the right switch in this Pokemon is a lot like serperior in the fact that it only needs that one bit of set up to became a monster. knock off is already a great move but when used by Krookodile it becames a nightmare to your opponents.

Scarf helps it get unexpected outspeeds which works well for moxie.

DuckForce (Porygon2) @ Eviolite
Ability: Analytic
EVs: 148 Def / 252 SpA / 108 SpD
Quiet Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Recover
- Hyper Beam
- Tri Attack
- Blizzard

Okay so this is my odd Pokemon... But it works surprisingly well. Porygon2 still puts out a lot of damage and is absolute tank with eviolite. the hyper beam with Analytic is ultra powerful and can ensure K:Os on some Pokemon.

Thanks Guys :D

Cool team! It's very anti-meta. I have a few suggestions I hope will improve your team. (Btw, the first Aerodactyl set doesn't have a complete EV spread 0:)
Arcanine: Flamethrower is generally better than Flare Blitz on Arcanine. I would also suggest a Bold nature. You could also run Protect over Sunny Day, as this doesn't really look like a Sun team. Also, what does its EV spread help it hit harder or survive?
Ninetales: I wouldn't recommend having double mono Fire-types, and there are better Specs users this slot could fill. Choice Specs Sylveon could work well here, and gives your team more Fairy-type coverage. I also like your Porygon-2 set here.
Krookodile: I would replace Hitmonlee or Krookodile with Scrafty to have more utility on your team. Scrafty is also bulkier. With Krookodile you would have a triple Ice-type weakness on your team.
Wolf Of Helios (Arcanine) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 128 SpA / 128 SpD (?)
Adamant Nature
- Protect
- Flamethrower
- Will-o-Wisp
- Snarl

LoL-Punny @Lopunnite
Ability: Limber
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 speed
Jolly Nature
- High Jump Kick
- Fake out
- Cosmic Power
- Baton Pass

I have always wanted to use cosmic baton pass just because it gives you another way to win, it is risky running Mega Lopunny like this but it can work when combined with Hitmonlee's fake out or Aerodactyl's Sky drop.

High Jump Kick for stab
Fake out for awesomeness
Cosmic power for setup
Baton pass for last minute passing into other pokes

Wolf Of Helios (Arcanine) Leftovers

Um I'm not really sure what is going on here. But I'll give my advice I guess?
I'm not really gonna work on synergy but more getting more VGCish spreads, mons.
I've never used AV Mamoswine so I don't know how it works but a Life Orb or Focus Sash spread is an option with Icicicle Crash>Knock Off and Protect>Superpower.
Also Gyarados needs Protect so use that over Ice Fang. Next up is Aerodactly um I don't really know honestly but Isn't the best set Protect, tailwind, Sky Drop, Rock Slide (don't quote me on this) Also I'm pretty sure you have 0 speed control besides Bulldoze and I think becuase of Aerodactly's speed it is good for Tailwind. Also Focus Sash> Life Orb. Now Lopunny and Hitmonlee just aren't good as is. Hitmonlee isn't really viable and Lopunny really shouldn't use that set. For Lopunny best is Low Kick, Encore, Fake Out, Return imo. I'm not even going to do the rest cause they really aren't that great. Here is the viability rankings to check how viable your mons are/ http://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/vgc-2015-viability-rankings-mark-2.3530547/. Also thing your descriptions are very lacking and some just kinda stupid so you may want to fix them up. One last thing I don't even think Ninetails gets Psychic

Ok some constructive criticism.

I prefer Assault Vest Mamoswine for its ability to tank unexpected hits, you'd be surprised by what it can tank.

Gyarados needs protect? why? I was thinking of changing Ice fang but only to get a better coverage move.

I like the idea of tailwind on Aerodactyl.

Hitmonlee isnt viable? if you try Hitmonlee you will see how good it is, you just gotta be good with prediction.

I have thought of changing my Lopunny set and i like that one.

I meant Extrasensory on Ninetales sorry...

Viability? Dude its called the team of Odd Pokemon for a reason.

Kinda stupid? do you wanna explain?

Lastly

Dont mock my mons till you try them ;)

Thanks for the advice :D

Okay I guess I should say kinda outclassed. Like Hitmonlee is kinda outclassed by Mienshao or something. Also for stupid descriptions I meant like your Lopunny.

Omg thanks for replying, I wasnt sure people would :D

Ok yes looking back i realize that especially with my current team, a special Arcanine would be better. the Ev spread helps it survive special hits and deal a bit more damage but i may go 252spdef or 128def 128spdef. Morning sun for healing but ill try prot too.

Ninetales was for if i subbed out Arcanine, also it does more damage than Sylveon and has greater coverage in my opinion.

Im glad you like my Porygon2 set :D it works well!

I was thinking Scrafty but with AV Mamoswine i cant run AV Scrafty :(

Thankyou for your reply :D

Aaaah I read it as Sunny Day. I also didn't realize there was another section for possible mons. Whoops. :'D My mistake.

Okay I guess I should say kinda outclassed. Like Hitmonlee is kinda outclassed by Mienshao or something. Also for stupid descriptions I meant like your Lopunny.

Your saying its stupid to try something different?

I admitted its a risky set.

Also

Hitmonlee is tankier than Mienshao, surprisingly. Considering i can full hp and attack and still double my speed.

So i wouldn't say its outclassed.

Thats fine :)

Its a different thing to do, but i just wanted to be able to test a wide variety of Pokemon before i went down to the final six.

These Replies have been very helpful :D

Um just one question do you want to use this in tournaments or like high laddering or just games with friends?

Um just one question do you want to use this in tournaments or like high laddering or just games with friends?

Both probably XD

I mean i saw the 2015 final teams and personally I'd rather lose using a different team than win with the same old team as everyone.

But that's just me personally.

Um Ok then you may need a few changes. I would rather not rate this but you may be okay with your mamoswinre, gyarados core.

What specifically do you find wrong with my team?

And i mean in strategic terms.

I do need some more coverage in some ways, was thinking of adding Zapdos or Thundurus.
