What role does Wicke play in this game? There was a lot of pre-game hype surrounding her, and now nothing... Can you even fight her?
 
So, about the Timeline destroyed by Ultra Beasts. This is more of a horrifying thought than an actual theory, but what if we doom timelines to Ultra Beast destruction by restart our games?

Edit: The Timeline destruction is probably a plot rumor.

Post game. Apparently the No MegaEvolution Timeline was destroyed by Ultra Beasts and Looker from that timeline ended up in the MegaEvolution Timeline.

i've heard a few people say that but it was mentioned earlier that a few people couldnt find that in the text dump

So the dex has entries for megas this time around whoop
Judging by what it says mega evolution is basically the event from gold/silver with red gyrados. good to know.

Yeah now we know why you need form a bond with your Pokemon to use it....because otherwise it turns them into soulless killing machines, ones that have a tendency to turn on you. Seems like it's just to control the immense flow of Power it brings and not make them run out of control.

This kind of heightened the Mary Sue traits of our protagonist characters since ingame we don't have those issues, we'll that and the fact that it is a game and turning Megas into a limiter would be bad for the gameplay.

Now in battle tree there are trainers with actual Megas so it's also nice to see it used by non plot based characters along to the z moves.

oh have there been randos with megas seen in the tree? I know Red uses a mega and I presume Wally does, but those are different from just Chef Jake

No randos from what I've seen/heard. It's probably meant to emphasise that only experienced trainers can utilise it unlike Z-moves.
