Monotype Fairly strong???? [peak Rank 6 Fairy team]

Hey guys, this is an RMT built on a fairy team I used to ladder on the Monotype Ladder. I peaked at rank 6 with this team with my alt fairly laddering.

and yes i know there are 7 mons above.

magearna.gif

Magearna @ Assault Vest
Ability: Soul-Heart
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 4 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Flash Cannon
- Fleur Cannon
- Ice Beam
- Volt Switch

This is the standard assault vest mag set that i run. the 4 evs are to outspeed other mags with no speed investment. I initially had aura sphere to deal with steel types but I changed it to volt switch as momentum came more in handy.

klefki.gif

Klefki @ Light Clay
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Impish Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Reflect
- Light Screen
- Spikes
- Toxic

Klefki is max hp and max def to take more hits from the physical side. Not many people use toxic klefki this gen and all the klefki I found on the ladder had twave as a status move if any. I originally considered running twave on it but toxic helps more as it helps deal with stall and def mons and sometimes put mons that are setting up on timer.

azumarill.gif

Azumarill @ Choice Band
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 40 HP / 252 Atk / 216 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Aqua Jet
- Superpower
- Knock Off
- Play Rough

Instead of a belly drum or z-bellydrum set, i use a banded azu set for immediate power. The speed investment allows it to hit 190 with max attack and rest in hp for some bulk. I'm not running waterfall on this set as superpower helps deal with steel easier.

tapukoko.gif

Tapu Koko @ Choice Specs
Ability: Electric Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- U-turn
- Dazzling Gleam

This is the MVP of my team in most cases depending on the type. Specs + electric terrain is an offensive monster.

252 SpA Choice Specs Tapu Koko Thunderbolt vs. 252 HP / 16 SpD Assault Vest Muk-Alola in Electric Terrain: 175-207 (42.2 - 50%) -- 90.6% chance to 2HKO after 1 layer of Spikes

this mon helps me get a lot of momentum with both u-turn and volt switch. I put dazzling gleam here as stab gleam does a lot more damage. You can also run hp fire instead of u-turn as this team struggles with steel depending on your last mon.

tapubulu.gif

Tapu Bulu @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Grassy Surge
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Horn Leech
- Wood Hammer
- Superpower
- Zen Headbutt

This Tapu Bulu set is a monster. Although jolly is more common on scarf bulu, I went with adamant to increase my damage output.

252+ Atk Tapu Bulu Wood Hammer vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Zapdos in Grassy Terrain: 185-218 (48.1 - 56.7%) -- 36.3% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

Zapdos in electric was getting a little problematic if i m not able to set up toxic on it and this mon helps me clear it. Most people switch it in on a bulu but swith out as soon as it switches in in fear of KO. Horn leech is for recovery in case bulu gets low and super power and zen headbutt is for dealing with steel and poison respectively.
tapufini.gif

Tapu Fini @ Leftovers
Ability: Misty Surge
EVs: 252 HP / 212 Def / 44 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Taunt
- Moonblast
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Defog

I reached to the top 25 with this mon. This is the only mon in my team that can 1v1 a +2 bulky scizor due to hp fire [koko can take care of scizor with tbolt but it needs to be at full health to live a bulky scizor whereas the offensive one ko it]
+2 0 Atk Technician Scizor-Mega Bullet Punch vs. 252 HP / 212+ Def Tapu Fini: 124-147 (36 - 42.7%) -- 96% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

0 SpA Tapu Fini Hidden Power Fire vs. 248 HP / 128 SpD Scizor-Mega: 148-176 (43.1 - 51.3%) -- 95.3% chance to 2HKO after 1 layer of Spikes

the speed investment allows it to reach 217 just 1 speed higher to speed creep mons that have 216 speed.

gardevoir.gif

Gardevoir @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Trace
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psychic
- Moonblast
- Thunderbolt
- Focus Blast

now after reaching top 25 i was having problems dealing with poison and grass due to mega venusaur. Only way to defeat it was freeze or flinches or maybe parahax. Gardevoir helped to handle this mon. But with the addition of this in team, matches v steel and bug with m-scizor is most likely gonna be auto loose. Trace allows me to get swift swim, sand rush and surge surfer and ko these mons back. The addition of this mon instead of fini led me to reach rank 6. Do note that u no onger have defog.

P.s:- I'm trying out hp fire on my mag instead of volt switch. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

Any suggestions for this team are welcome.

Hey, nice team and congrats on the peak - I have a couple of suggestions though:

184.png
Normalium Z Belly Drum Azumarill > Choice Band Azumarill: Although I know are you aware that you are not using this I think it would be greatly beneficial to your team. Your team lacks a set-up sweeper which seems sort of counter-intuitive considering you are running Klefki. You still have fairly good power unboosted while being able to end games much easier. This also pairs nicely with Specs Koko considering it breaks bulky Waters for Azumarill to sweep.

787MS.png
Choice Band Tapu Bulu > Choice Scarf Tapu Bulu: Two scarf Pokemon (considering you're running the Gardevoir team) is a little excessive, which is why I suggest this change. This allows for better wallbreaking that also supports Azumarill by pressuring Water and Steel types, as well as having amazing power.

801MS.png
Aura Sphere > Ice Beam on Magearna: Ice Beam may hit Ground-types but I think Steel-types are much more important for your team to hit. You have Azumarill and Tapu Bulu to break Ground-types. This would be very beneficial in breaking Steel-teams which Azumarill has a hard time doing.

707MS.png
Foul Play > Toxic on Klefki: This is a fairly simple change. Foul Play makes it so you're not set-up bait, expecially to Mega Scizor, which is very threatening to your team and Fairy teams in general. HP Fire Tapu Fini doesn't deal with Mega Scizor that well because I do not think Mega Scizor would stay in against Tapu Fini, especially due to its STABs doing extremely little even at +2.

785MS.png
Hidden Power Fire / Ice > U-turn on Tapu Koko: Like I said before, your team is pretty weak to Mega Scizor and HP Fire would help with that, as well as hitting Ferrothorn for surprising damage and a clean 2HKO. Hidden Power Ice would hit Landorus (-T) much harder, which could be very annnoying for your team to face (especially Landorus, considering Earth Power + Sludge Wave is hard for your team to handle.)

282MS.png
Trick / Healing Wish > Thunderbolt on Gardevoir: Trick allows you to cripple defensive walls such as Ferrothorn. Thunderbolt is kind of redundant since you have Tapu Koko and Magearna for Electric coverage. Healing Wish allows you to give one of your Pokemon a chance to battlee again if they are at low health / statused, and this is especially beneficial to Azumarill as it gives it basically two chances to sweep.

Overall, nothing major. Hope you enjoy the rates!

I'll try the changes one at a time but te garde team is still weak to scizor and i still prefer toxic on klefki coz of cm mons etc or spatt or maybe stall

You have 2 scarf, so why do you use scarf bulu? Use and sd set with stone edge zen headbutt and superpower.

I think you should run hp fire in koko too.

Healling wish > Thunderbolt in gardevoir. You have koko and with healling wish you can heal your wallbreakers.

Sorry if this changes are not so good, but I am not an expert in monotype
