Monotype Double Dance Mew

Mew @ Mewnium Z
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Psychic
- Nasty Plot
- Focus Blast
- Rock Polish

Since USM, Mew has found itself as one of Psychic's best setup sweepers and wallbreakers in Monotype. Mewnium Z lets mew use Genesis Supernova, turning it into a powerhouse. Alongside this, Mew uses Nasty Plot to OHKO a lot of the walls in Monotype such as Mantine and Porygon2 with Genesis Supernova, as well as Rock Polish to outpace more offensive Pokemon that might want to revenge kill it. Focus Blast is used as Mew's coverage move over the likes of Flamethrower, as it beats down Dark- and Steel-types that resist Psychic-type attacks. As Mew is a late-game sweeper, it needs help chipping away at foes, so pairing it with the likes of Mega Gallade and Victini to break through Pokemon such as Alolan Muk and Chansey that may be able to take Mew on is amazing. Deoxys-S is also great for assisting Mew, as it can set up Stealth Rock, Spikes, and dual screens in order to help Mew set up and sweep.

Since USM Mew has found itself as one of Psychics best set up sweepers (It's also one of the best wallbreakers, so might want to add that) in Monotype, this is all thanks to its set right here. Mewnium Z has repackaged Mew from a stall breaker to a powerhouse allowing it to perform its amazing move Genesis Supernova. Alongside this, Mew uses both Nasty Plot and Rock Polish to outpace and OHKO a lot of the walls in Monotype such as Mantine and Porygon2. (Rock Polish does nothing for helping Mew beat walls. I think separating this into two thoughts is best: it uses Nasty Plot to be strong enough for Genesis Supernova to OHKO walls and Rock Polish to destroy offense by being faster, since Genesis Supernova OHKOes most offensive Pokemon that don't resist it anyway) Focus Blast is used as Mew's coverage move over the like of Flamethrower (Is this necessary to point out?) as it beats down Dark- and Steel-types that resist Psychic-type attacks. As Mew is a late game sweeper it needs help chipping away at opponents, so pairing it with the like of Mega Gallade and Victini to break through Pokemon such as Alolan Muk and Chansey that may be able to take Mew on is amazing. Other Pokemon such as Deoxys-S and Jirachi (I would honestly stick to just Deoxys-S here because it does both Stealth Rock and > dual screens < definitely must mention this! Jirachi might be too niche for a spotlight I think) are good for assisting Mew as they are able to get up hazards to further chip Pokemon.

(It being a stallbreaker in previous generations is not relevant to this set.) Alongside this, Mew uses both Nasty Plot to OHKO a lot of the walls in Monotype such as Mantine and Porygon2 with Genesis Supernova, as well as Rock Polish to outpace more offensive Pokemon that might want to come in afterwards to try and revenge kill Mew it.
