Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl - Release 19th Nov 2021

I suppose I should be more specific. The primary thing I enjoy about Pokémon story is the characters, who I think are generally more complex than people say they are. The actual skeleton of your average Pokémon story isn't that great, but I enjoy the characters and arcs enough that it doesn't bug me much.
Ok, that's a lot more palatable. To be honest, what I think about that is...

This I can definitely agree with, and one people over look is Norman. Kinda getting off topic though so might want to change the conversation to something on topic :/
Shoot. Never mind.

Yung Dramps

awesome gaming
to the point even the Jubilife Tiles got reverted to DP.
Huh. Somehow never noticed that across my various rewatches of the trailer.

Aight then, after scanning some more I think it's time to bring back a classic from the post-dexit SWSH days. That's right, it's time to FIXATE ON TREES BABY. You thought my over-analysis ended at conveyer belts? PFFFT

What we got here are the two versions of Lake Verity: DP on the left, Platinum on the right. We've already mentioned the snow, but what version of the trees is BDSP basing its on? This applies for pretty much every map in the game with default trees btw, just using Acuity as the most convenient reference on hand.

Super pointed and distinct bright green tops and more ridges? Yup, those are definitely Platinum's trees.

Actually, y'know what, screw it! TIME TO KICK MY FIXATION INTO OVERDRIVE AND CHECK OUT THE GRASS TILES TOO

DP, Platinum, BDSP in that order. A bit harder to tell but those grass tiles are based on Platinum because they got extra leaves pointing out from the sides between the two northest/southeast-facing ones. After this look-at I'm buying more into Kurona's theory that anything that's a pretty much indisputable visual upgrade is gonna be lifted from Platinum while the more cosmetic stuff will be from DP.

I believe this belongs in the thread Unpopular Opinions cause I sure as hell liked megas, and I think they were interesting.
Plot twist, I don't like Megas too, so now you're outnumbered!!!

In all seriousness tho, legit going back to the topic of the games themselves, Union Rooms are confirmed to be back.

As you may have noticed... there was a ton of people in the Union Room on the trailer. Any interesting discussion y'all wanna raise based on that? :smogthink:

Whoa that's insane secret Platinum remakes confirmed.

. After this look-at I'm buying more into Kurona's tier that anything that's a pretty much indisputable visual upgrade is gonna be lifted from Platinum while the more cosmetic stuff will be from DP.
Makes sense though, use the updated graphics for the game.

Have at me and all of the 1v1 room.

I was tempted to call this overanalysis again, but honestly this level of dedication to details is pretty impressive. I didn't even know that the tree difference existed.

The Union Room always let you see everyone inside it at once, and that Bulbapedia picture is just listing the player limits for activities you can do with people. I made a post earlier about the Union Room and other possible multiplayer avenues, but nothing can be said for sure right now.

I really think people need to keep putting so much stock in those phrases like "faithful reproduction" from the press release and it's strange to see -- every single remake could have this said about it, and it's the same sort of vague meaningless buzzwords press releases always go for. They only tell you what to generally expect and even then nothing that you couldn't have gleaned from the trailer, precedence and common sense; taking them so extremely literally is... weird.

What if they have that WiFi room with the minigames and the starter floats? I never got to try it because I got into the mainline Pokemon games after it shut down.

That's pretty likely. Where's that again? All centers' basements?

I'm really curious about what's taking the GTS and Pal Park's places.

Speaking of the casino's, can we expect them to be like the Celadon one or not? In the remakes of course.
Not at all, due to laws preventing depicting gambling in games for all ages in certain regions of the world.

They have three options: turn it into Voltorb Flip as a reference to HGSS, just close it as in ORAS, or not let you play on them and you instead collect Coins from the floor as in LGPE.

All of them suck for Game Corner TMs.

They could do a non-gambling minigame instead, but... Let's just hope they have that idea. So there's yet another thing that'll need to be reworked.
At least you can use a calculator for Voltorb Flip. It's slow, but it's consistent.

Just to confirm as the Twitter post does not mention it and you'd need to click on the link to check: the pre-order is only physical for now.

The games have been added to the eShop but you can't pre-order there yet.
