Project National Dex OU: Break This Core (Week 34: Mega Latias + Kartana + Victini)

Congratulations to Spud4You for winning Week 3!

Our next core will be Tapu Lele + Kartana.

How will you deal with these devastating offensive threats? Post your submissions by Friday, December 24th at 11:59 PM GMT. Good Luck!

Victini @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Victory Star
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- V-create
- U-turn
- Trick
- Final Gambit

Not my favorite Victini set but outruns and nukes both with V-create while also switching into Lele once or twice thanks to Scarf Lele’a relative lack of power.

Oh shit wassup, I'm pullin up wit bulk up corv:

METAL KNIGHT (Corviknight) @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Bulk Up
- Brave Bird
- Body Press
- Roost

We eatin kart pretty good ngl:
+2 252 Atk Kartana All-Out Pummeling (175 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Corviknight: 340-401 (85 - 100.2%) -- 6.3% chance to OHKO

On the flip side:
+2 252+ Def Corviknight Body Press vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Kartana: 260-308 (100.3 - 118.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Lele? Oh damn this one has tbolt:
252 SpA Tapu Lele Thunderbolt vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Corviknight: 226-266 (56.5 - 66.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

Either we go the pressure stall route (would not advise but certainly possible), or need to switch out if it comes in and tbolts. Otherwise, corv sits comfortably on lele's STABs.

Once again, on the flip side:
+2 0 Atk Corviknight Brave Bird vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Tapu Lele: 291-343 (103.5 - 122%) -- guaranteed OHKO

So long story short, 2 bulk ups and corv is in a position to counter effectively against this core. Thanks for coming to my TEDtalk.

Soft UwUs (Jirachi) @ Normalium Z
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 56 Atk / 200 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Happy Hour
- Iron Head
- Stored Power
- Drain Punch

If Kart Starts:
Turn 1: You click Z-Happy Hour, kart either sd's or knocks (or may Z itself)
252 Atk Kartana Knock Off vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Jirachi: 182-216 (53.3 - 63.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 Atk Kartana All-Out Pummeling (175 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Jirachi: 245-289 (71.8 - 84.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
You live either one, from Z-Happy, you get omniboost and now you outspeed kart, so click Stored Power
+1 200 SpA Jirachi Stored Power (120 BP) vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Kartana: 279-328 (107.7 - 126.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO
Kart dies, Lele comes out, you outspeed it too, click Iron Head
+1 56 Atk Jirachi Iron Head vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Tapu Lele: 348-410 (123.8 - 145.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO

If Lele Starts:
Turn 1: You click Z-Happy Hour, lele either focus blasts or tbolts (or may switch out to kart)
If it switches out to kart, repeat above, if it fblasts or tbolts
252 SpA Tapu Lele Focus Blast vs. 0 HP / 0- SpD Jirachi: 146-172 (42.8 - 50.4%) -- 1.2% chance to 2HKO
252 SpA Tapu Lele Thunderbolt vs. 0 HP / 0- SpD Jirachi: 110-130 (32.2 - 38.1%) -- 96.6% chance to 3HKO
You don't die, from Z-Happy, you get omniboost and now you outspeed scarf lele, so click Iron Head
+1 56 Atk Jirachi Iron Head vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Tapu Lele: 348-410 (123.8 - 145.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO
Lele dies, Kart comes out, you outspeed it too, click Stored Power
+1 200 SpA Jirachi Stored Power (120 BP) vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Kartana: 279-328 (107.7 - 126.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO

And those are the calcs, as you see, after an omniboost, Rachi Literally guarantees OHKO's and even if it gets down to 20-30%, it can heal itself later in the game with drain punch. Rachi is good answer to this core cuz it resists all 4 of lele and kart and uh Omniboost+Stored Power is kinda just broken. (Btw all credits to fish sticks cat for Rachi's name cuz she likes her uwus)

:SS/Aegislash: :SS/Aegislash-Blade:
Aegislash @ Colbur Berry
Ability: Stance Change
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Autotomize
- Close Combat
- Iron Head/Flash Cannon/Hidden Power Ice

Aegislash switch in and set up on both of these Pokémon, only fearing Kartana’s knock off on the way in. Colbur allows Aegi to eat +2 knock off and setup autotomize safely (barring a crit). +2 speed lands it at 480 spe which blitzes past lele’s 475 spe which allows Aegislash to smash both mons with shadow ball.

Lele’s strongest move vs Aegislash
252 SpA Tapu Lele Thunderbolt vs. 0 HP / 0- SpD Aegislash-Shield: 82-97 (31.4 - 37.1%) -- 83.4% chance to 3HKO

Kart after a dance
+2 252 Atk Kartana Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Colbur Berry Aegislash-Shield: 203-239 (77.7 - 91.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+2 252 Atk Kartana Leaf Blade vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Aegislash-Shield on a critical hit: 212-249 (81.2 - 95.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Aegislash in return
252 SpA Aegislash-Blade Shadow Ball vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Kartana: 330-388 (127.4 - 149.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 SpA Aegislash-Blade Shadow Ball vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Tapu Lele: 246-290 (87.5 - 103.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock

i’ll use choice band aegi

Kartana

Kartana @ Choice Band
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Leaf Blade
- Sacred Sword
- Smart Strike
- Knock Off

Outspeed +1 tar and ohko with leaf blade, cleanly 2hko reun with leaf blade. You will probably need a magnezone for their steel in an actual game tho.

Weavile @ Choice Band
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- Punishment / Beat Up
- Ice Shard
- Low Kick

Hard to fit all this on one set, but this is the best version without sacrificing too much.
Punishment will almost always get the OHKO on Reuni if it has +1 +1 (min 98%, max 116%)
Beat Up is less consistent, but will OHKO if you have 6 healthy users (barring stuff like 5 special attackers, and sometimes semi-stall)

Nvm, Chomp misses a range by 2%, reserving m-sciz

Prower (Scizor-Mega) @ Scizorite
Ability: Technician
EVs: 200 HP / 252 Atk / 56 Def
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Bug Bite/Knock Off
- Bullet Punch
- Roost
If Ttar starts:
Turn 1: It stone edges (or maybe ddances), you click sd
252+ Atk Tyranitar-Mega Stone Edge vs. 200 HP / 56 Def Scizor-Mega: 153-181 (46.2 - 54.6%) -- 61.3% chance to 2HKO
Turn 2: Click Bullet Punch
+2 252+ Atk Technician Scizor-Mega Bullet Punch vs. 132 HP / 0 Def Tyranitar-Mega: 338-398 (90.3 - 106.4%) -- 43.8% chance to OHKO
Turn 3: Reuni comes out, you Bug Bite/Knock Off
+2 252+ Atk Technician Scizor-Mega Bug Bite vs. 252 HP / 212+ Def Reuniclus: 644-762 (151.8 - 179.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+2 252+ Atk Scizor-Mega Knock Off vs. 252 HP / 212+ Def Reuniclus: 312-368 (73.5 - 86.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
If you run Knock Off set, Reuni either Focus Blasts or Calm Minds
0 SpA Reuniclus Focus Blast vs. 200 HP / 0 SpD Scizor-Mega: 105-124 (31.7 - 37.4%) -- 88.5% chance to 3HKO
Alt Turn 4: Use BP, Knock, Bug Bite, it just dies

If Reuni starts:
Turn 1: It either Focus Blasts, or Switches out, you click sd
0 SpA Reuniclus Focus Blast vs. 200 HP / 0 SpD Scizor-Mega: 105-124 (31.7 - 37.4%) -- 88.5% chance to 3HKO
Turn 2: If it switched, Ttar comes out, click Bullet Punch and/or Bug Bite (if u run it)
+2 252+ Atk Technician Scizor-Mega Bullet Punch vs. 132 HP / 0 Def Tyranitar-Mega: 338-398 (90.3 - 106.4%) -- 43.8% chance to OHKO
+2 252+ Atk Technician Scizor-Mega Bug Bite vs. 132 HP / 0 Def Tyranitar-Mega: 506-596 (135.2 - 159.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO
Alt Turn 2: If, it didn't switch, just Bug Bite/Knock, it dies, then Ttar comes out, repeat what's above

So ye, after Msciz Sets up, it's ready to sweep and a good counter to this core and also the ttar range becomes an OHKO if it's paired with rocks and or spikes support.
