[SET COMMENTS]
Armed with excellent Speed and STAB U-turn, Scyther is an elite pivot in NU. Aerial Ace targets opposing Scyther and the plethora of Grass- and Fighting-types found in the tier, such as Appletun, Lurantis, Toxicroak, and Paldean Tauros. Thief targets Rotom and Drifblim and can steal items should Scyther lose its Heavy-Duty Boots. Close Combat strikes Steel-types like Magneton and Perrserker as well as Normal-types like Blissey and Ursaring. While both Tera types turn Scyther’s double weakness to Stealth Rock into resistances and remove its weaknesses to Electric and Fire, Tera Ground prevents Volt Switch users like Rotom and Magneton from pivoting on it, while Tera Fighting boosts Close Combat’s power. Tera Dark boosts Thief's power and gives it an immunity to Sableye's Prankster moves.

Scyther is an excellent facilitator for VoltTurn teams, pairing well with specially offensive pivots like Eelektross, Articuno, and Magneton. These pivots can threaten physical walls like Sandaconda, Qwilfish formes, and Drifblim; Scyther can pressure special walls like Appletun, Blissey, and Muk. Clerics like Umbreon and Blissey can provide Scyther with extra longevity with Wish and cure it of status with Heal Bell, respectively. Entry hazard setters like Sandaconda, Cacturne, and Froslass can rack up residual damage against the aforementioned physical walls, making them easier to wear down over the course of a game.

tera type: Grass / Fighting

[SET COMMENTS]
Scyther is a terrific Swords Dance sweeper, courtesy to its fantastic Speed, good power, and variety of Technician-boosted moves. Aerial Ace scares off slower Grass- and Fighting-types, like Cacturne, Abomasnow, Toxicroak, and non-Choice Scarf Medicham. U-turn can allow it to pivot against physical walls like Sandaconda and Drifblim, as well as Pokemon that resist Aerial Ace like Rotom and Eelektross. Close Combat hits Steel-types like Magneton and Tera Steel Appletun for super effective damage while hitting Blissey harder than any of its other moves. Trailblaze allows Scyther to outspeed the entire unboosted metagame while also hitting Sandaconda harder. Tera Grass removes Scyther’s 4x weakness to Stealth Rock and allows Scyther to 2HKO Sandaconda at +2, while Tera Fighting strengthens its Close Combat to frightening levels and turns its Rock weakness into a resistance.

Swords Dance Scyther is best used mid- to late-game, where it has a better chance of picking off sufficiently weakened physical walls like Drifblim and Sandaconda. Scyther must be wary of the adverse contact effects like Aftermath and Rocky Helmet, respectively, from these two. If U-turn is selected, VoltTurn pivots like Rotom, Eelektross, and Mesprit once again make for excellent teammates, threatening out walls like Sandaconda and Blissey while providing additional utility or coverage. Revenge killers like Tauros and Choice Scarf Rotom can preemptively cause Scyther to Terastalize or stop its sweep altogether, so specific checks to them like Sandaconda and Camerupt respectively, can help preserve Scyther's longevity. Special wallbreakers like Clawitzer, Cacturne, and Pyroar can soften up physical walls like Sandaconda and Sableye so Scyther can find better chances to sweep late-game. Due to its 4x weakness to Stealth Rock, switch-ins to Knock Off like Sticky Hold Muk and Sandaconda can greatly help it.

Armed with excellent Speed and STAB U-turn, Scyther is an elite pivot in NU. Aerial Ace targets opposing Scyther and Fighting-types like Toxicroak and Paldean Tauros. Should Scyther lose its Heavy-Duty Boots, Thief can cripple the opposition by stealing items while also targeting Rotom and Drifblim. Close Combat strikes at Steel-types like Magneton and Perrserker as well as Normal-types like Blissey and Dudunsparce. Defog provides emergency hazard removal. Technician boosts Aerial Ace and Thief. Fluff Tera Ground provides Scyther with a Volt Switch immunity, preventing it from getting pivoted on. Tera Fighting boosts Close Combat’s power. Both Tera types, however, turn Scyther’s double weakness to Stealth Rock into resistances and remove its weaknesses to Electric and Fire. Personally I would find a way to fit the last sentence about both Tera types in both Tera sentences. Without it the statement "Tera Fighting boosts CC's power" isn't providing much on its own.

Entry hazard setters like Sandaconda, Cacturne, and Froslass can rack up residual damage against the aforementioned physical walls, making them easier to wear down over the course of a game and synergizing with Scyther wearing them down with U-turn. This is kind of just fluff, besides, Scyther doesn't like pivoting on Sandaconda or Qwilfish because of Rocky Helmet.

Scyther is a terrific Swords Dance sweeper, owing to its fantastic Speed, good power, and variety of Technician-boosted moves. U-turn can pivot against physical walls like Sandaconda and Drifblim, and Pokemon that resist Aerial Ace like Rotom and Eelektross. Close Combat hits Steel-types like Magneton and Tera Steel Appletun for super effective damage, while also giving high odds to OHKO Blissey when paired with Terastalized into Fighting Tera Fighting. Trailblaze allows Scyther to outspeed the entire unboosted metagame, while also providing a stronger hit to Sandaconda. Tera Grass turns Scyther’s weakness to Electric into a resist and boosts Trailblaze's power, while Tera Fighting strengthens its Close Combat to frightening levels and turns its Rock weakness into a resist.

Swords Dance Scyther is best used mid- to late-game, where it has a better chance of picking off sufficiently weakened physical walls like Drifblim and Sandaconda. I would mention that these Pokemon also threaten Scyther with adverse effects, like Aftermath and Rocky Helmet. If U-turn is selected, VoltTurn pivots like Rotom, Eelektross, and Mesprit once again make for excellent teammates, threatening out walls like Sandaconda and Blissey while providing additional utility or coverage. Revenge killers like Tauros and Choice Scarf Rotom can preemptively cause Scyther to Terastalize or stop its sweep altogether, so Ground-types Sandaconda and Camerupt can help preserve Scyther's longevity. Special wallbreakers like Clawitzer, Cacturne, and Pyroar can soften up the opposition physical walls like Sandaconda and Sableye so Scyther can find better chances to sweep late-game. Due to its 4x weakness to Stealth Rock, I would mention that Scyther doesn't like opposing Knock Off or Trick, so Pokemon that help with item displacement help it out a lot, such as Dudunsparce and Sandaconda.

Aerial Ace targets opposing Scyther and Fighting-types like Toxicroak and Paldean Tauros the plethora of Grass- and Fighting-types found in the tier, such as Appletun, Lurantis, Toxicroak, and Paldean Tauros. Grasses are worth mentioning asw imo. Should Scyther lose its Heavy-Duty Boots, Thief can cripple the opposition by stealing items while also targeting Rotom and Drifblim. reorder the structure of this sentence to focus on the main purpose of Thief, which ofc is to hit the Ghosts that resist U-turn. stealing back items isn't as important for Scyther as most Knock users beat it anyway, it's more of a niche fun fact type thing. Close Combat strikes at Steel-types like Magneton and Perrserker as well as Normal-types like Blissey and Ursaring. Defog provides emergency hazard removal. While both Tera types turn Scyther’s double weakness to Stealth Rock into resistances and remove its weaknesses to Electric and Fire, Tera Ground gives Scyther a Volt Switch immunity explain a bit why this is important, if you need to divide the two tera types into two sentences, that is fine as both are quite important., while Tera Fighting boosts Close Combat’s power. this is new and sorry to spring it onto you but Tera Dark is worth mentioning to boost Thief and also grant an immunity to Sableye's prankster moves.

Trailblaze allows Scyther to outspeed the entire unboosted metagame, while also providing a stronger hit to Sandaconda. Tera Grass turns Scyther’s weakness to Electric into a resist and boosts Trailblaze's power I would explain how this helps the Sandaconda MU by removing the 4x rock weakness and letting you 2HKO with TB at +2, while Tera Fighting strengthens its Close Combat to frightening levels and turns its Rock weakness into a resist.

Swords Dance Scyther is best used mid- to late-game, where it has a better chance of picking off sufficiently weakened physical walls like Drifblim and Sandaconda. Scyther must be wary of the adverse contact effects like These Pokemon can also stack up residual damage with Aftermath and Rocky Helmet, respectively from these two. If U-turn is selected, VoltTurn pivots like Rotom, Eelektross, and Mesprit once again make for excellent teammates, threatening out walls like Sandaconda and Blissey while providing additional utility or coverage. Revenge killers like Tauros and Choice Scarf Rotom can preemptively cause Scyther to Terastalize or stop its sweep altogether, so Ground-types Sandaconda and Camerupt can help preserve Scyther's longevity this kinda implies sanda checks rotom and camel checks camerupt, when the two are exclusive, maybe removing the specification of "Ground-types" and adding a "respectively" would help with this. Special wallbreakers like Clawitzer, Cacturne, and Pyroar can soften up physical walls like Sandaconda and Sableye so Scyther can find better chances to sweep late-game. Due to its 4x weakness to Stealth Rock, Knock Off absorbers like Umbreon and Qwilfish Sticky Hold Muk and Sandaconda can greatly help it.
