OU Weakness Policy Zygarde

approved by P Squared

Zygarde @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Aura Break
EVs: 16 HP / 200 Atk / 112 SpD / 180 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Thousand Arrows
- Iron Tail
- Extreme Speed
- Dragon Dance

This Zygarde set takes advantage of common switch-ins such as Landorus-T and Clefable by making it so their ways to hit Zygarde actually give it the equivalent of a Swords Dance boost. By using Dragon Dance as they come in, Zygarde can beat both of them one-on-one and proceed to potentially sweep. The prevalence of Landorus-T and Clefable on a wide array of archetypes ranging from offense to balance gave birth to this set. For those curious, Zygarde's EV spread lets it avoid a 2HKO from Impish Landorus-T's Hidden Power Ice and outrun Mega Lopunny at +1. This set can't overcome all of Zygarde's usual checks, but it easily takes on the two most common ones. Just try to ensure walls such as Hippowdon and Ice Beam Mega Latias as well as revenge killers such as Hawlucha and Choice Scarf Tapu Lele are taken down before attempting to sweep, a feat most teams Zygarde finds itself on can easily achieve.

Here's a replay from SPL 9 (z0mOG vs BKC) showcasing Weakness Policy Zygarde capitalizing on Landorus-T and sweeping:

Thanks to the countless threatening attackers in USM OU, most teams get pressed into using the likes of Landorus-T and Clefable as a Zygarde switch-in, thus, this set was born to capitalize on that.
I'm not completely sold on this tbh, it sounds as if they were suboptimal pokemon/suboptimal zyagrde counters otherwise when in fact theyre some of the best mons in the tier and can usually answer most zyg sets. Reword this to something like "the prevalence of x and y on all sorts of teams/different archetypes/whatever ranging from offense to balance teams allows zygarde to tailor its item choice in order to defeat them" or just something that gives that idea Im bad at rewording. Rest looks pretty good 1/1
