Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
Hello, my name is Smoughon. I've been lurking here for a while, and finally decided to make an account. Today I will be playing through a little game called Pokemon Snakewood. I've only played this game twice. This is a rom hack of Pokemon Ruby. Despite being a rom of Ruby, this game is nothing like the original. For those who haven't seen this hack, get ready because this game can get ridiculous.
This is the title screen. Nothing here but a person standing. Maybe we'll find out who they are later. Very plain.
The game starts the same, with Birch on the staring screen. However, its very clear that he's not the one talking. It is infact, the player speaking. Yes, the character is not mute in this game. They also appear to have amnesia as well.
And here we get to one of the biggest changes in this game, the Fakemon. That is a zombie Bulbasaur. Both people and Pokemon in this hack are zombies.
These are our choices. The sprites aren't too bad, but tue names are kind of dumb. The best one in my opinion has to be JERICHO, which is apparently a city in Isreal.
I select the male character and go with WRAITH.
And right away we die by laser sharks, cool.
Oh, ok never mind.
For some reason the screen shakes and makes sounds like I'm in the truck, but the truck is obviously not there. Neither is the rest of Littleroot. Lets try tp figure out what happened here.
Guess its not this way like it is in Ruby.
Something is telling me it's not this way. Not sure what it is though.
Hello there, what do we have here? These are probably the starters. Lets see what we've got here.
Those are clearly not the normal starters, they're interesting to say the least. I select Paras because I've used the other two before. She also doesn't have a nickname because I took the first one I got. Whoops.
That will conclude part one. I'm a little further ahead in the game, but I need to write the script.
Hello everyone! After a lot of procrastinating, and some technical errors, I'm back with part 2. These should be easier to release, but there are no guarantees. Without further ado, lets get into some more Snakewood!
With Paras by our side, let's proceed. I go put the only exit to find Birch under attack just like in the original games.
Instead of being attacked by a Poochyeana or a Zigzagoon, its a zombie kid with a zombie Bulbasaur. A few Scratches take it out easily.
Zombies in this game crumble when defeated, and their sprite dispersal as well.
After defeating the zombie, Birch reveals that he knows me and tries to spark my memory. He asks me if I remember my brother or his daughter. He also asks if I remember how Littleroot was destroyed. I don't of course.
After thate go to the Pokemon Center in Oldale. The residents mention that this town is one of the last few places in Hoenn that hasn't been overwhelmed by zombies.
I go to the PC and withdraw the usual potion, which has been renamed to Light Potion. This is one of mamy items that have different names.
Since the path to Littleroot is blocked, I'll have to come back. Unfortunately, that is much later on. I'll add it to a to do list that will (hopefully) be at the end of every part after this one.
. . . there's literally a zombie standing right there. Talking to it does nothing, so I guess it's ok. There's also a vending machine in the corner.
It works too, so that's cool. I don't need to buy any right now, but this will help a lot later on. The same guy that blocks the exit in the original games is in this one too, so I guess I have to got north.
I find Birch in the spot where the rival usually is.
He gives me the egg he found, but not before talking with broken grammar. He explains that he has a plan, and he wants me to help. My mission is to find his daughter and my older brother, who beat the Elite Four and became the champion three years ago. This implies that this hack could take place in the same, or a similar dimension as Ruby and Sapphire.
The item he gives me here works similarly to the Pokenav in Emerald, where people can call you from random locations at any time. Before going anywhere, lets check out the egg he gave me.
First thing you'll probably notice is the type. Disease type is a new type in this game, only held by eggs and some zombie Pokemon. It replaces the ??? type. The second is that it was obtained by "amoral means". Probably not important. Before heading back to proceed towards route 102, I train Paras to level 7 so she can learn Stun Spore.
Before I can proceed, this girl stops us and we have to fight her.
Edgy.
Her only Pokemon is a Sneasel, and my Stun Spore is immediatly useless as she uses Taunt turn one. Outsid of that, she isn't a problem at all and goes down to a few scratches. Fun fact, Mawile was replaced with Sneasel in this hack, for some weird reason. After I defeat her, she says I got lucky and that her name is ALICIA.
Since I wasn't given any pokeballs from Birch, I go and buy 10 of them plus the free Premier Ball. I then go and catch a few Pokemon on 103.
I catch a Zigzagoon, Poochyena, and a Wingull. All with amazing nicknames. I keep Zigzagoon and Wingull and put Poochyena into the PC. Wingull's Water Gun is helpful because of Growl spam, and Zigzagoon has Pickup. Pickup is kind of overpowered in Ruby and Sapphire so it will help a lot. I then proceed towards 102
On 102 there is a trainer being attacked by a zombie, so I heroically step in to save him.
OH GOD WHAT IS THAT SPRITE.
Ignoring the incredibly weird sprite, she actually has some interesting fakemon. A couple of Scratches takes out Polihag, and Rotmander didn't stand a chance, two Water Guns is all I needed.
After defeating the ghost girl, the kid gives me the running shoes, and then there's a small fourth wall break.
I also caught and named a Seedot. I don't think I'm even going to use it ever.
This zombie literally saw me from what seemed like halfwasy across the map.
Heres another zombies I can't fight. Don't know why they're here if they don't even do anything.
The encounters for this route have been changed, and you can get Skitty here. Skitty is pretty ok early game, so the fact that it can be found earlier and contribute earlier is a good change, in my opinion. I name it Abby, the first thing that came to my mind.
Broken Hearts are one of this games sidequests, sort of. You're supposed to find and collect 50 of them and then give them to a character later in the game, The creator must have gotten lazy, because unless it was updated, there are only 10 in the game, and it still works all the same. I'll add it to the to-do list.
So I was stupid and didn't get a screenshot of the first zombie on my original file, and instead had to take one on a separate save where I selected the female character.
The ghost girl has a level nine Rotmander that absolutely destroyed me the first time I faced it. It one shot my underleveled Wingull with a crit. All of my other pokemon other thatn Paras were undeleved, so I stood no chance. Seeing this I did a small amount of grinding, training every pokemon while having five Pickup Zigzagoon on the team.
During grinding, I got Wingull and Skitty to level 9, and got a few items with changed names. Caramac is a PP Up, Reisen is Protein, and RageCandyBar is Rare Candy. Why they felt the need to change Rare Candy to an item that is in the original games is beyond me.
During this time, the egg from Birch also hatched. It hatched into . . .
. . . an egg. The egg hatched into an egg. It's really stupid, but this thing just happens to be one of the more unique fakemon in this game.
Its stats are: 70/35/50/30/45/20, so not too bad, but it sucks until it evolves, which isn't until level 30. Into the box it goes. I head back to the ghost girl that beat me the first time and easily beat her Rotmander with Protect the Wingull.
The zombie after her is way easier, only having a few low leveld zombie pokemon go down easily.
Inside Petalburg, theres a zombie with a zombie Squirtle that goes down easily.
Becqause some places don't have Pokecenter, what with the zombies and all, there are medical kits that serve a similar funtion.
Inside one of the houses is a dead lady whose corpse gives me the leftovers, which is really useful.
Unfortunately I can't get help from Norman because his gym is blocked. I'll need to come back later with a specific item, but that won't be for a while.
That will conclude part two. Part three hopefully won't be as difficult to get out, but procrastination sucks. Have a nice day!
Alright, here's part 3. Get ready, because today's part is filled with: weird item renames, glitches, text walls, and stupidly designed fights.
OM!: Me too ;)
We start right where it ended last time, right before living Petalburg, but before I leave, I run into someone.
Welp, rip. He did give me some important information about my brother and May, perhaps I'll find something out about them whe I go to Petalburg Woods. But before that, I'll head into Wally's house.
No one's here obviously, but there is a crate that has unlimited potions in it. Yep, you read that right, unlimited potions. It's kind of broken, because infinite healing is broken, but also means infinite money. Unfortunately 5 Zigzagoons with Pickup is even more overpowered, and is why I use them every time I grind. I grab enough to get me to 20 and then head east.
But first, a weird sprite glitch
That is the female character. For some reason, the female character's sprite will glitch out and become that. I think it might have something to do with the crates? Who knows this game is weird.
The encounters don't seem changed, so I go ahead and capture a Taillow and name it Jay, after Blue Jays. Taillow and its evolution are good early game, just like in the originals. I train it up to level 9 and proceed to the woods.
Guess I'll have to find another way to Dewford Town.
Just like the ghost girl in the last part, this guy saw me from halfway across the map. I always thought it was kind of weird how some trainers would have really long ranges of sights, and then others had really small ranges. But that's besides the point, Jay has no problems beating his Surskit.
Inside the forest, I find this guy. He's in a few places in this game, and acts as a replacement for marts.
He sells some good stuff. Unfortunately Super Potions are outclassed by the drinks in Oldale, and outside of medicine he doesn't really have anything important. I got right and exit the forest to the small out cove outside 104.
Instead of giving a speech about staling peoples' Pokemon, she gives me the Sharp Beak, which is of course renamed in classic Snakewood fashion. I give it to Jay.
Inside the forest, I find and catch Pikachu. This is cool because Pikachu is normally found really late in the originals, but being here fits really well. It's early in the game, and is sort of an homage to gen 1. I'm stupid and forget to nickname it.
I defeat this guy who gives me a very good warning about an enemy ahead.
He just happens to be talking about this guy. I don't feel ready for him and grind everyone up to level 11.
This trainer right hereis one of the first trainers where the game kind of spikes in difficulty a little. The frist was the ghost shirl with the level nine rotmaneder.
I forgot that it had two pokemon and led with Pikachu. I swap to Protect the Wingull and beat it with a couple Water Guns. It wastes a potion on the Houndsour, which was really lukcy.
Because its second Pokemon is this. This thing right here is a monster. It has the same stats as a regular Murkrow, as far as I know. It has Gust, Peck, Glare, and I'm pretty sure it has Pursuit. It didn't use it when I fought it. I take it down with Pikachu, but it did manage to put up a fight. Crits from even a resisted move like peck hurt.
I got the first badge from it, so I guess it was supposed to be a replacement for Roxanne, who is most likely dead. We also learn that my brothers name is Landon. That is pretty close to Brendan.
Before leaving the forest, there is another demon that I fight.
And he has this. This is what the egg evolves into at level 30, so I guess this guy learned from Lance. Also, yes the egg hatches into an egg that evolves into an egg. It is Normal type with these as its stats: 120/65/70/45/70/30, so it's pretty bulky. Its moves still suck, so it can't really do much.
To put into perspective how bulky it is, that's about how much a Quick Attack did with it having -6 defense. (Don't ask me why I didn't use Peck when it would have been stronger because of the Sharp Beak. )
There's also a medkit here, which does something interesting if used multiple times.
The screen will go black. I can still move, and opening the anything in the menu makes it go away. Weird glitch.
Bullet Seed would have been nice for Paras. Oh well. I head to Rustboro. There is no forced double battle on the bridge, only an optional fight against a fisherman.
Why are there kids stuck inside trees? Why am I asking these questions?
By the cut mans house, there's a familiar face by a bunch of trapped zombies.
The cutman's house was changed to be a Pokemon center, which is right next to a bunch of zombies. If they were these super zombies or something, they'd probably be able to break in.
This guy gives me something pretty important. The Mush Mask is apart of a sidequest, a trade one. I'm pretty sure it will be awhile before I can trade it for something, so I'll add it to the list. Also got to mention the fact that he disappeared, this game is filled with tons of fun bugs.
Before I fight Alicia I do some grinding and get everyone to level 13. The Magikarp pictured above belongs to the fisherman on the bridge. He has 3 of them. It reminds me of that trainer Kanto in Heartgold and Soulsilver that had a level 65 Magikarp for some reason.
I also fight the twin double battle, which was put before Rustboro. One guess on what those fakemon evolve from.
Nice fourth wall break.
Alicia has tree Pokemon this time. The first two go down easily, but Sneasel is actually a threat this time. It still has the same high stats for early game, and has Screech. It takes out Jay with a Quick Attack after using Screech. I eventually take it out, but it takes quite a few of my Pokemon to do so.. I'll just put this here, but I'll try to take more screenshots of the battles instead of just showing the Pokemon and saying what happened.
Guess Verdanturf is where I'm supposed to go next.
This is what the Quick claw was changed to.
When I try to go past the gym and the Devon Corporation, I over hear 2 characters talking. There's a lot of text, and this part already has a lot of screenshots, so I put it in a spoiler box.
That's what Fresh Water was renamed to.
Roxanne's gym has the TM for Rock Tomb in it, but everyone else is gone. Guess I was right.
Oh no. No more walls please.
It is I.
A Taoist huh.
THIS THING. THIS THING IS ACTUALLY A MONSTER. Forget about the Dirtkrow being an overpowered Pokemon for early game. This thing takes the cake. It is Disease/Poison type, with the following stats: 1/175/1/1/1/255 and the ability speed boost. This think is Deoxys-Attack on drugs. It only has two moves, Poison Fang and Confuse Ray. This thing is really frail, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's sweep many players before. There are a few ways to beat it. #1: Hope it misses Poison Fang, and you don't miss your move. #2: Use Koffing, because he doesn't get one shot by Poison Fang #3: Hope and pray it uses Confuse Ray and you aren't confused, or #4
Use Quick Attack to one shot it. I used the last method. This guy is definitely one of the worst designed fights in this game. It's most likely higher leveled than everything on your team. It's faster than pretty much everything available at the time. And it also very likely to one shot an entire team. If it didn't have no defense, it could be an almost impossible fight. It did give enough experience to get Jay to level 16 so that's cool.
After that fight, I'm going to end it here. In the next part we'll head towards Verdanturf? Part 4 will hopefully be out soon, but I can't make any promises. Have a good day.
Hello. It's been a while. I'm back for part 4. This episode is filled with lots of text walls, so get ready.
So in the last part I beat Gleis and his op Faceleech. Now I'm supposed to help him stop some demons in Rustrurf Tunnel.
That also happens to be the only way forward. I don't think you can enter Devon. If I can I'll come back later. If not, oh well.
The route does have decent leveled pokemon to fight at least.
There aren't any fights on the route because Gleis and Dantalion took care of the zombies on the route.
Whatever you say Snakewood.
For some reason they changed the cut tree to a rock. I don't remember what item is back there, if it was changed at all. I don't think it's important, but I'll add it to the list.
Perhaps.
Oh. Ok.
Sure?
That's just a re-colered Brock with Groudon claws. Lmao. I wonder if the pokemon they have will be a decent level.
And of course they're about the same level as Gleis. Pikachu isn't the best option for this, so I use Thunder Wave and swap.
I send out Protect and spam Water Gun.
He also has another one. The only reason I haven't taken damage is because they keep spamming Harden and Mud Sport. I'm not attacking him with physical moves so that does nothing lmao. Easy W.
?
The fight goes exactly the same as the last one. Level 16&17 Anorith that spam Harden and Mud Sport
them."
That Gleis guy is weird. He didn't seem to care about sacrificing that girl. Oh well. Off to Verdanturf. Before that, let's go back and enter the house where the snail demon thing was, and do a little bit of grinding to get our levels up.
There's a dead body with a renamed Amulet Coin. Nice.
The wild pokemon are also really high level. I've already made some progress in the next part, and I came back here and found a level 16 Taillow. Crazy. Only remember that one though.
I get everyone up to level 16. I feel like that's a good enough level. I head back into the tunnel.
The path here is blocked by a rock smash rock. I'll have to come back later.
You can say that again.
Guess we've got an idea of what happened before the game started. Doesn't really explain what happened to Littleroot.
Good going. You had to fall right next to the enemy.
That explains what happened to Littleroot.
Probably shouldn't be asking questions dude.
Hmm, maybe the Four Hoursmen are the ones that Gleis and Dantalion were talking about earlier.
If that's the case, then the Four Horsemen must be pretty formidable if even Gleis doesn't want to mess with them.
The levels haven't increased al that much since Gleis, but my team isn't all too powerful right now. A lot of my team have reached the point where they don't have enough fire power.
I paralyze the Moulder with Thunder Wave and swap to Jay, my strongest Pokemon.
I use Focus Energy for the crits, which very quickly comes in handy because I take it out with a crit after two Wing Attacks.
She has a second one at a level higher. I use Wing Attack as it brings me to half health with Acid.
I use an X Defend, renamed to Defend Plus.
I use a potion to heal back to full as it uses Acid again, lowering my defense making that Defend Plus basically useless.
Unfortunately I almost take it out, but it gets low enough for Pestilence to use a potion. Why she has Full Restores and not Super Potions is beyond me.
I swap to Abby and manage to land a Sing, and Swap to Protect. I use Water Gun and do minimal damage. He almost immediately wakes up, and he manages to take Jay out before I can finish him. Pikachu comes in and takes him out.
Her last pokemon is a Qwilfish, that Pikachu barely manages to defeat.
?
?????
Why is Alicia being nice all of a sudden?
And finally this late into the game we get the Pokedex. It's only the Hoenn version so it's not that useful.
The game also acts like I'm going to be going to a new area, but nothing happens when walking down. This game is weird.
to leave it alone."
Inside the cave is a weird place called the Endless Plains. For some reason Cut is in here, so I can progress past that cut tree from earlier. Larry is also here as well.
Before I get to route 114, I get a call from Birch.
Guess Dewford's next. But they wouldn't give me Surf this early would they?
Unlike in the original games, there isn't a ledge below Meteor Falls blocking the path, so I can access that area now instead of later.
For some reason, this dead guy has a Magikarp holding Surf. Ok then. Gyarados isn't all too good in gen 3, what with it's low special attack, and its only flying stab being Hidden Power. I would also have to train Magikarp to level 20. Yeah it's going in the box.
A zombie on the route has the evolved form of Rotmander.
I can't go to Meteor Falls because of another Rock Smash rock. There's also a Strength boulder blocking another path. I'll add both to the list.
you!"
So Laura is kind of threatening. She could easily sweep me with Swords Dance on her Zangoose, but instead she spams Fury Cutter. The AI in this game sometimes.
Her Delcatty was more of a threat than her Zangoose, taking most of my team to defeat it. Once again, Jay was the MVP. Taillow is really good early game.
Alright, that'll end this part. I think I'm going to make these a little shorter. That will hopefully make these easier to get out. Uploading so many screenshots is a pain to deal with. Unless someone knows a way to upload many pictures at once without them being out of order, otherwise I've got an idea of the progress I'll make up till part 12, but it could change. Any suggestions or advice would be helpful. Have a nice day.
Hello. I'm back for part 5. Shorter part this time. Today's part is filled with weird trainer design, and new team members? Before I start, if anybody has an idea on how to upload images without having them all attached at the bottom of the post, I would appreciate it.
Edit: For some reason only two attachments show up? I really don't understand.
Edit#2: Added stats for Fakemon.
In the last part I beat one of the Four Horsemen, and got the 5th gym badge from one of the last trainers from Norman's gym. In this part I'm supposed to go to Dewford because they have no zombies.
Look's like the only way to get to the top section of the route is via Strength. I can't go this way.
I also can't go through 103 because there's a waterfall here. With all paths blocked, Dewford really is the only option.
Surfing in route 103, and also in Dewford can lead to finding some high level Pokémon.
Since it's on the screen, I'm going to say this now. I HATE Qwilfish in this part of the game. Half the time they have Poison Point, which feels like it activates every time you touch it. They're pretty fast, so they outspeed you a lot. They have Minimize and Harden making them harder to kill. And they have Headbutt coming off their high attack for this portion of the game. Sorry for the mini rant, but I've fought so many of these things in the next few parts, I'm sick of it.
Somewhere before Dewford, I found this. This is the replacement for Heart Scales. I don't know if anything in the game can have them as held items in the wild, so I think there finite. I'll save them for later.
I head back to route 104 and surf south. Like many things in this hack, the surf text was changed as well.
On the route I find this swimmer who has a level 16 Sealeo. It is literally have the level it is legally able to be at. It almost took out Pikachu.
This isn't the pirate I fought, I didn't take a screenshot. As you'll notice, it's Drake's sprite, which is very weird because Drake is the final Elite Four member. Who knows maybe the Elite Four are different.
His first Pokémon is a Meowth, who I don't screenshot. Meowth and Persian are Normal/Dark in this game, which is pretty cool.
His second Pokémon is an illegal Persian. Meowth evolves at level 28. A Persian at level 19 knows: Scratch, Growl, and Bite.
This Persian has: Slash, Pay Day, Crunch, and maybe a fourth move I don't remember it using.
This is sort of another one of those surprise boss battles. Most players don't expect a random trainer to have a Pokémon this strong. Persian isn't an overpowered Pokémon, but at this point in the game, and with the powerful moves it has, I almost got swept. If I don't have a bunch of Revives form my Zigzagoons, I would have lost. Unfortunately I had to Revive spam to beat it. There are tons of fights in this game where a trainer or boss battle shows up out of nowhere and doesn't give you much of a notice. There have been quite a few already, and get ready for many more.
I eventually take it out with Jay, the MVP.
I also find another Broken Heart. That makes two.
I eventually make it to Dewford. You've probably noticed the dive spot right above me. You can actually go down there later in the game. I'll add it to the list.
Guess it really is zombie free here. That's cool. Before heading to Granite cave, I have a few people to talk to.
First is this guy, who gives me TM 31.
But just like Bullet Seed it was changed. Ice Punch is a good move, I might teach it to someone. I'll save it for now, because I don't have my team ironed out yet.
at the Petalburg gym."
And then this poor guy here gives us the Silk Scarf, which was renamed to + Band, which just sounds stupid. As far as I know, there is no way of telling him that Laura is alive, sad.
This guy here is a part of the Mush Mask quest. It will be awhile before I can talk to him. I believe the item back there is the TM for Sludge Bomb. It would be cool to have that now rather than later, but oh well.
Huh. More evidence this takes place after Ruby & Sapphire. Nice to know you don't need Flash. Flash is up there with other shitty HMs.
That's ominous. Guess I'll go see if Brawly is still around.
Looks like Brawly isn't dead, or so I don't think. Guess they've got a new leader.
Guess the new girl's name is Haruko. Wonder what type she uses.
Her gym seems similar to Brawly's but has a more maze-like structure to it. I skip as many trainers as possible getting to her, for reasons that will be obvious really soon.
This guy is right before the leader, so I can't skip him. He has interesting Pokémon.
He has the Shinx line. That's right, Shinx and it's evolutions are in this game. Shinx is still Electric, but it's evolutions are Electric/Dark. That's right they also got their typing changed. After defeating him, he sings the song he mentioned.
The song is. . . interesting to say the least. I go the the gym leader.
Looks like it's not Granite Cave anymore. I guess it makes sense, considering it's supposedly really bright. This is why I didn't fight all of the trainers, or do any grinding, because I don't fight here yet.
Solar Caverns isn't really changed all that much from the original, outside of the levels of the wild Pokémon, with one exception.
You can find this Fakemon in the cave. It's Rock/Ground and has the stats: 72/80/95/20/45/15. It's stats aren't that bad. It's Special Defence is low and it's slow, but it'll do for now. I catch it and reset until I find a good nature.
I catch one and name it RockKrabby, because that's what it looks like. This one has a Jolly nature. I stuck with that because it amused me. Even with a + Speed nature, it doesn't even have over 10 speed. All it has is Vicegrip and Bide. Not too much to work off of, but it has pretty good attack, so it's useable.
I also catch a Makuhita and name it Bruno. It has a pretty alright nature, and Guts. I would just like to mention that Bruno would have really come in handy against that dumb Persian. But oh well.
That will end part 5. I'll hopefully be able to get the next few parts out soon. The next two parts are a little more interesting than this one. Have a nice day.
I did some quick maffs, and assuming 15 IVs the minimum possible stats for that weird rock crab thing are 80 / 86 / 86 / 11 / 43 / 7. Figured I'd put this here since OP didn't edit that in to the new update.
Also the title did not lie, this game is on some shit. A Pokemon named Faceleech with those stats? 4 fucking Horsemen of the Apocalypse? If this was intended as satire (which I doubt) it's the greatest comedic Pokemon hack of all time
Hello. I'm back for part 6. Most likely another shorter part. This one should hopefully be more interesting than the last part.
Yung Dramps: Thanks for pointing out I forgot the stats. I've edited it in now. Also I don't know if you've seen the rest of this game, but if you or anyone else hasn't, this is only the beginning.
In the last part, I made it to Dewford, and got two new teammates. In this episode, I'll travel to end of Granite Cave, renamed to Solar Caverns.
If you remember, I was unable to enter the cave because I was scared of a roar.
Because I didn't want to enter, I visited the Gym Leader, who told me something was down here, and that the only way to fight her was to deal with the monster. Now I know what some of you may be thinking, "Can't you ignore this part of the game and go to Slateport instead?" To that I respond, I can. Technically.
The creator obviously thought that some people would just ignore the cave and the second leader, so he put barrier and an invisible wall to stop players from progressing. So I can go to Slateport, I just can't enter. So right now, Solar Caverns is the only way to progress in the game.
When he says he had a memory, he was referring to an image that pops up on screen. It goes by really fast, so I couldn't get it myself, however, it's and image of a Charizard. A Charizard with a different color. Before entering the room where the monster is, I do a little grinding.
While grinding, I go back to Rustboro to deal with some unfinished business.
This floating head is no joke.
It has a zombie Jynx. It has the exact same stats as a regular Jynx. I should mention that you can fight these the first time you Rustburo. So we can add this to the list of surprise battles that can easily sweep unprepared players. I'm able to defeat them easily with Bruno. If I didn't have him, then this thing would probably sweep me.
Inside the building to the left is a demon that I defeat easily and another head with two zombie Jynx.
During those fights Bruno learned Fake Out. It's not an amazing move, but it will be very nice to have.
At level 20, RockKrabby learned Faint Attack, which isn't amazing. I don't think the physical special split exists in this game, and Hombone has bad Special Attack, regardless of a -Sp. Attack nature. It's not that bad because at the same level I learned another move.
Which just so happens to be Rock Blast. Now this is much better. It's STAB, and has good damage if it lands enough times. Considering all he had was Vicegrip, he'll be much better now.
Leveling up Paras was a pain because he couldn't run from Pokémon many levels below him. I would also like to take this moment to say I HATE how running mechanics work. It makes it almost impossible to have slow Pokémon in the front.
Remember in the last part when I ranted about fighting Qwilfish? This is why. I eventually give up and level everyone except for Paras and the HM Zigzagoon to level 20 and return to Solar Caverns.
Well, guess there's no monster. Let's pack up shop and get out of. . .
. . . nevermind. Also, why does EVERYONE say that when they see me? I guess I must be popular.
Beautiful sprite work, I must say.
So now we're fighting dragons now, huh. I thought this was supposed to be the zombie apocolypse?
He only has one Pokémon, but it's this thing. As you can tell, that's not a regular Charizard. It's also just called Dragon, an original name to be sure. It may look like a Charizard, but it's a little different. It's pure Dragon type instead of Fire/Flying, and has the stats: 108/95/75/112/75/76. Here's Charizard's stats for comparison: 78/84/78/109/85/100. So this thing has a little more Sp. Attack and Attack, a lot more HP, but much less speed. Even if it doesn't have ridiculous stats like Faceleech, it makes up for it with it's movepool. It has STAB Dragonbreath, Fly, Dig and
Fire Pump. It is more than just a name change though, it's different than Flamethrower, despite the animation. It has 90 base power, 100 accuracy, and a 40% chance to burn. With that is seems like it would be the far superior move right? I mean Flamethrower is a little stronger, but only has a 10% chance to burn. There's a catch. Fire Pump has 8 PP. No, not 5 with the extra from a PP Max. It literally has 8 PP. It's such a random number. As you can see, I swapped to RockKrabby, who I'll refer to as RKrabby from now on.
Despite the fact that I have type advantage against Fire, because of Dragon's decent Sp. Attack and because of that 40% burn chance, it wasn't a great decision. I only swapped because I thought he would use Fly instead.
Which he just happens to use right after.
I use one of the Full Restores I got from Pickup and counter with Rock Blast as he uses Fly again. Why he keeps using Fly when it does no damage is beyond me.
He finally decides to use something other than Fly, and one-shots me with Dragonbreath.
I swap to Pikachu, out speed and land Thunder Wave. I then swap to Jay.
I'm able to get one strong hit in before he one-shots me with either Fire Pump or Dragonbreath.
I use Double Team as he uses Fly and gets fully paralyzed. I use Quick Attack as he finally uses Dig. I swap to Paras because he resists the move, and because the AI has been making some dumb move selections.
He gets paralyzed again, and I use Scratch to do almost no damage as he goes for Dig instead of Fire Pump.
Seeing how nobody was really doing any damage, and because I was scared that he would use Fly and one-shot Bruno, I revive RKrabby. Meteor also uses a Super Potion, making this fight much harder.
As I heal up RKrabby, the AI remembers that is had 112 Sp. Attack and decides to just use Fire Pump, taking out Paras and Pikachu.
Before sending out RKrabby, I send out Bruno in an attempt to chip him, which didn't matter because Bruno took him out instead. Even with my levels, I probably shouldn't have won that fight. If it wasn't for paralysis and the AI making dumb moves, I would have lost.
Now that that is over, it's time to face Haruko.
This was the aftermath of that fight. That was really close.
That will end part 6. In the next part, I'll beat the second gym and go to Slateport. Have a nice day.
Hello. So I was initially planning on releasing this part tomorrow, and it would be me beating the second gym leader and going to Slateport. However more stuff happened on the way to Slateport that I feel it could be it's own part. I'll still try to get that part up tomorrow. With that out of the way, let's get in to this part.
Edit: Added the to do list because it posted early.
Edit 2: This is part 7, not 6 -_-
So in the last part, I made my way to the end of Solar Caverns and defeated Meteor, the Dragon King, and his fake Charizard. Now that I have found out what was at the end of the cave, I can now fight Haruko, the second gym leader. (Even though this would technically be my 3rd gym badge, but whatever.) Before I entered the gym, I leveled Paras to level 20.
Inside the gym, I meet a new trainer class.
I also almost lose to another Persian. I don't know why, it didn't have an op moveset like the one the pirate had. This isn't looking good.
Because of the fact that Paras had learned Leech Life at level 19, and I was fighting a lot of Dark types, he gained 2 extra levels. It's the first time that Paras has been able to contribute outside of using Stun Spore. I took this screenshot right before Haruko.
wait what was that about and anit-air gun?
oh ok. I guess it wasn't important. Not sure what to think of her sprite. Maybe it's from another game I've never played before. Also she has 6 Pokemon. This is going to be fun isn't it.
I got a crit and one-shot her Poochyena. lmao.
Her second Pokémon is a mawile Sneasel.
A Sneasel that knows Bulk Up. Ok.
It actually lives because of the Bulk Up, but she wastes a Super Potion on it because the potion couldn't heal enough. I totally planned that completely I knew that would happen obviously.
Her next Pokémon is an Absol. Absol is frail and totally isn't an issue.
Never mind. Shadow Swipe is a Ghost type move with 95 base power, 90 accuracy, 15(10?) PP and a high chance to crit.. Coming off of Absol's 130 attack, it hits like a truck.
Now because I have a 23 IQ brain, I swap to RKrabby instead of just attacking it again, causing her to get a free heal. However, RKrabby has Intimidate and good Defense, so he should be just fi-
This is an issue. Now it has +1 Attack, and Shadow Swipe.
And she gets the crit.
Knowing that Absol is most likely slower than Pikachu, I gamble and send her out. I do outspeed and get the para off. Pikachu is taken out in one hit though. Not lucky enough to get 10% chance to miss. I'm pretty sure her Absol also has Quick Attack, so I'm glad she used Shadow Swipe instead.
I get revenge by defeating her Absol with Bruno.
Her next Pokémon is a Carvanha with Bulk Up. I'm pretty sure it only has special moves so Bulk Up is useless.
I take it out with Paras. Paras is really putting in work in this fight. She now only has two Pokémon left.
And her second to last Pokémon is an illegal Luxray. Why do so many trainers have evolved Pokémon at levels they can't be at? Luxio even evolves at the same level in this hack as the original.
After using Stun Spore I swap out to Makuhita. I then sit through multiple turns of attacking her Luxray, getting it to low health, watching her use a potion, spam a bunch of healing items myself. I'm not going to separate these images. They go from right to left. It was kind of a stalemate.
I then sack off both Ramona and Jay to heal up Makuhita.
I sacked them off just to watch Paras take Luxray out himself. Paras is easily the MVP of this fight.
However, even after all of that, she still has one Pokémon left, and it's a Fakemon. At this point it could be anything. It could be a level 36 Pokémon that sweeps my whole team.
Or it could be level 1 as well. Considering this rom hack, I want all of you that have never seen this hack, or know what this thing is to take a second to guess what it's gimmick is. I'll give you a second.
Kingmadio is a Ghost/Dark type Pokémon with the following stats: 1 in everything except speed, which is 255. After seeing that type and it's stats, some of you have probably already figured out it's gimmick. That gimmick is. . .
it has Wonder Guard. Yep that's right. A Ghost/Dark type with Wonder Guard. Nobody has ever thought to create a Fakemon like that.
And now all of you out there are thinking, "What brilliant 3 million IQ play does Smoughon Account have to defeat such and overpowered opponent?" And to that I say, that this foe requires the most well thought out plan I've ever had. That plan is. . .
It's Posionpowder. I know. I know. It is clearly the most brilliant plan anyone has ever had in the history of ever. But on a serious note, this thing isn't a threat at all. It only knows Night Shade. Which does 1 damage. And can't even touch Normals. With this thing, it's just playing the waiting game.
As it tries to defeat me with it's Stand, it's to no avail.
I don't even need to use a potion. I just swap to Bruno and watch it die slowly to poison. Kingmadio is too weak to pose much of a threat. It's more annoying than anything. It also only gave Paras and Bruno 27 exp lmao.
I guess I'm a slayer of dragons now, cool.
why am I getting so little money
Isn't the part about level 30 Pokémon pointless considering I've got the fifth badge?
Oh boy is it a dark type TM?
can't even give me a dark type TM.
I teach Bulk Up to Bruno, he'll be a beast I hope. That was also another fight I barely made it out of.
With that I'll end this part here. In the next part, I'll arrive in Slateport. That part should be out tomorrow. I apologize if the Poisonpowder part was a little cringe, I had a blast writing that part. Have a nice day, again.
Ok, what the hell is wrong with this game's balancing? Illegally leveled Pokemon that aren't even close to what they're supposed to be nor proper for the stage in the game the player is at is one thing, but every fakemon so far has been completely cheesy ass. So far we got overpowered edgy leech, stone crab that is a semi-clone of Rhyhorn and meme trash sphere creature. The creator clearly just made what their likely middle school-aged self thought would be cool/funny without thinking to themselves "Hmm, but does this make for a balanced, enjoyable RPG experience?"
At first I didn't get why you were playing some game that was just a Zombie Apocalypse version of Ruby. I'm starting to understand.
Charizard is Silver in the over world, but as a trainer it's Shiny... I was thinking the hack maker just sucks at sprite making before this, but really? You can't even blame color blindness! It gets even worse if you assume Silver/Black' Charizard's creatively named Green Charizard is the same Charizard, which I do when they can't get their own colors right. I mean, if I made a hack and made it so a character itself attacked you instead of sending out Pokemon, I'd just make them send out them self as a Pokemon. Also, if Charizard has nothing but Charizard resprites, then I interpret that as getting back up after being knocked down. (Please don't argue about any of this, you'd probably be giving maker more credit than they deserve. :P) I'm probably obsessing too much about the colors... I'm not sure if it's because I wanted to share my "fan" theroy, because my mom was an art teacher or I just like thinking about how bad bad stuff is... All of the above?
(Without any spoilers, in case anyone reads this before seeing what it is:) It was pretty easy to guess the gimmick. That level? It has have that. That typing? Yep, it has that. Wait, that move... Did the maker want it to use Struggle? Did they do that and want you to win? I... I don't understand... How much better does this get and is the maker stupid enough to let you catch one before the post game?
Anyway, thank you so much for sharing this "glorious" hack.\
By the way, you never said what the Disease Type's weaknesses and resists are. Considering it's replacing the ??? Type, I'm guessing none.
Hello. I'm here for Part 8. The next few parts may take a little longer to release, because I haven't played any further than this part.
Edit: This is Part 8, not 7.
Yung Dramps: On the download page, the creator mentions that this is their first time making a rom, however, in later posts he mentions some Fakemon are from other hacks. I don't even know anymore. If it wasn't for the fact I've played this game before, I probably would have been swept by most of the difficult fights.
CTNC: Meteor and Dragon are two different beings, so he's a dragon that uses other dragons to fight.
Yeah, you were supposed to wait for it to struggle itself to death to win. You used to be able to find Kingmadio in a cave before post game, but the creator must have realized how dumb stupid overpowered it was. Now you can't find it until postgame.
Also, I'm pretty sure the Disease type is neutral to everything.
Wizard: Yeah, I don't know what it is, but to me, this game has a weird charm to it.
In the last part, I beat Haruko and her wack team. In this part, I'll head over to Slateport.
Why are you saying hello? You know it's going to be Birch.
Told ya.
Everyone has the same dialogue, except for two people.
Cool, guess the desert is next.
Haven't you played Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald before? Come on Wraith, get with the times.
Ok calm down, ya'll ain't Tate and Liza.
Not learnt, because Bruno's moveset is already good.
Another Rock Smash rock. I'll add it to the list. I really need to get Rock Smash already.
This lady has some interesting Pokémon. Also, watch the levels of the trainers I'm fighting.
Let's see if I can got to the ship.
Really? Stupid invisible walls. You can't even give me a good reason, you're just going to use the same line from the beginning of the game?
I'm pretty sure you can come here later. I think. Added to the list.
This guy has this thing. I have no idea why it exists, I don't think you can find it in the game, and it's not the shiny form of Qwilfish, who doesn't even have a shiny in this game. Telson replaces Qwilfish in the index, and Qwilfish replaces Tentacool. The only difference between the two that I could tell, is that Telson doesn't learn Headbutt. This thing has no reason to exist. Nevermind all the other Fakemon, at least they were either zombie versions of an already existing Pokémon, or were unique Fakemon. This thing legitamitlly has NO REASON TO EXIST. IT'S A RECOLORED CLONE. Rant over.
One, if not the first Rare Candy! These will help a lot later in the game. I've already gotten quite a few from Pickup. Yes, that is a Rare Candy. Why they renamed it to something that already exists is beyond me.
This guy decides to be special and use non-water type Pokémon.
That was from Nature Power, however I wouldn't be surprised if it just had Surf.
He also had an illegal Grumpig. SNAKEWOOD WHY.
I don't evolve Paras because in one level he leanrs Spore. Parasect learns Spore at level 27, so it might not have been a good idea. Oh well. Actually, I thought Parasect might have learned Slash at level 24 and I missed it, but I didn't.
Uuuuuuh. . .
(not pictured: he has a Growlithe)
Well, mister, had you phrased your sentence better, this might not have happened.
Another illegal Pokémon. Secretegg evolves from Mysteryegg at level 30. They should have a Mysteryegg.
On the beach, there's a trainer with a level 28. What's level balancing? It also has Strength, which has been changed to be a Hyper Beam clone.
Yeah, well I don't care. #Thuglife.
Before entering the seashore house, Jay evolved. Nice.
First thing I find is a dead kid with a Fire Stone. Fun.
Inside is a zombie chef. ok. He also has a level 30. Haruko had a level 25 Pokémon as her ace, and now after surfing through two routes, trainers now have Pokémon higher leveled than her. Trainers went from having level 22s, to a level 30. I hope that the rest of Slateport isn't as ridiculous as this.
We've met Pestilence already.
Hopefully that means the level curve won't be bad.
Why do I have to buy Soda Pop, there's no one here and it's the zombie apocolypse. Just steal it. I finally enter Slateport
Only to be ambushed by a chef. Nice. His first Pokémon is a level 25 Munchlax.
His second Pokémon is a Double Teaming Kirlia.
I get ambushed by another chef. Although, it looks like it was the same one, he just cam back a second time. He has the same Pokémon.
After defeating the chef(s?) Bruno evolved. Hariyama is Fighting/Normal in this game, an interesting change to day the least.
That will end this part. In the next part I'll explore Slateport. I'd like to take this moment to say that I'm glad that people are enjoying the playthrough. Snakewood really is one of the weirdest Pokémon Rom Hacks out there, and I'm glad that people are interested in the game. Have a nice day.
Hello. I'm here again for part 9, not part 8, not part 8374, part 9. This part will be shorter than other parts.
Yung Dramps: I'm not sure why Telson exists, it really has no reason to be a thing. The level curve kind of chills in the next few parts. And don't worry, a few parts after this one are going to get completely ridiculous.
In the last part, I surfed from Dewford to Slateport, fighting many trainers along the way. In today's part, I'll explore Slateport. I can't go left, so the only way is up. Before I do anything, I evolve Paras because she needed 54 exp to level up.
I get rid of Poisonpowder for Spore. Spore is much better overall, and I won't need Poisonpowder anymore. There won't be a million trainers with Kingmadio. Now that I've evolved Parasect, I'd like to take a second to talk about the starters. More importantly, the final evolution. If you remember, the starters were; Paras, Baltoy, and Koffing. Claydol's stats weren't touched. Weezing got 5 extra HP, and 1 extra to all of it's other stats. Now hearing that, you'd probably assume that Parasect wasn't changed, right? Well actually, it was! Parasect's old stats were: 60/95/80/60/80/30. And Parasect's new stats in this game are: 75/115/95/75/95/45. That's right, it has 15 extra points to everything except for Attack, which got 20 extra points. If only it had stronger offensive moves.
All of these chefs are getting annoying. They always have the same two Pokémon.
WTF is an Arclight Spanner. Lmao. Guess I need to find that. The only way to go is in to the building to the right.
There's nothing up here.
Maybe I can Surf over this water to find something.
Or I could jump into some sort of submarine?
Who is this?
I don't even know who you are.
I still don't know who you are.
Now I look like I'm on the Abandoned Ship.
Another mention of Visbu. Is that from another hack the creator made?
Well, that was quite a lot of text. Down in the ship, there's a rock blocking the path. I'll add it to the list.
Nice
Another blocked path.
Down here is a PC and a bed, so that's nice.
In the water are Magnemites. I catch one, because why not.
So I guess the Arclight Spanner is in this submarine? I would just like to mention, that they give you NO clues on where you're supposed to go, or where anything is. You're supposed to wander around and click on everything.
There are also Luvdisc in the water. Heart Scales are replaced by Blue Rocks in this game, so Luvdisc are even more useless than in the original games.
Got it. Nice.
The good old method of bash it until it works?
You can walk right past this guy. ok. Most games would have him stop you.
I go back to the room with the PC and bed. Now that I have the Spanner, I can go back to this machine and get free Pokeballs from it.
And with that, I'll end this part here. The next part might not be that interesting, but after that, the game will get really crazy. Have a nice day.

I find it difficult to believe that the creator would buff Parasect but not Luvdisc. What are the most notable buffs in this hack that you can tell us about without getting into spoilers?
Yung Dramps: I had forgotten, but it turns out that Luvdisc is different in this game. It has an evolution. I won't say what it evolves into, that's a surprise.
Parasect is probably the Pokémon with the most changes. I believe the reason was because Paras was one of the starters. Doesn't explain why the other two starters are basically the same though. Most Pokémon have the exact same moves, stats and types. At most, they got a new evolution.
In the last part, I managed to stumble onto a submarine named the SS Cangerjo, and I fixed the engine. In this part, I'll head to Mauville.
I don't understand why this is here. It doesn't do anything later, as far as I know.
The upper section of Slateport is completely different. The Pokémon Center, Contest Hall, and the Dock are all gone.
There's also no one in the mart.
Now that I have the Arclight Spanner, I can pass through Slateport much more easily. I do have to click on the crate and break it every time though.
Seems like these guys are at their wit's end. Imagine if there was some sort of escort mission where you fought back chefs so they could escape. But that would be asking too much from this game.
Here we get to see all the different names for the vitamins.
As you can see, Faceleech is obtainable in this game. I'll come back later, because Munclax does evolve into Snorlax in this game. List.
Fortunately, the Name Rater is still in Slateport, so I change Pikachu and Parasects' nicknames. I go with Izzy, because it was the first thing that came to mind, and Mewtwo? because Parasect has a similar cry to Mewtwo. I may change the latter later.
I feel like at least 5% of the screenshots in this playthrough are just me showing off items that had their names changed. This is the Soothe Bell. I don't need it for anyone, so into the PC it goes. I'll also take this opportunity to say that item space is an issue in this game. I've never really had issues with it in the original games, but in this one I have to deposit half the stuff I find.
In the ocean museum, there's something off with one of the water samples. I can come back to this later. List.
Unfortunately, the wild Pokémon haven't had their levels changed. That means the only place to find high leveled Pokémon is in the water. Which is comprised of 90% Qwilfish. Nice.
Nice fourth wall break. I'll deal with that later. First, I'll go left. But before that, I'm going to train Pikachu, because frankly, she's pretty bad. Thunder Wave is good, and I use it a lot, but she really needs to learn Thunderbolt. The place I'll be training is route 134, right next to the Port.
Very nice. Pelipper is a rare encounter, but Izzy can beat them pretty easily with Thundershock. It's a really high level though.
Not as high leveled as this Qwilfish. Remember in part 4 or something when I surfed on the water in route 103 and found a level 19 Qwilfish? It was also when I went on a rant about Qwilfish. You can find them at the exact same level. Yep, after getting Surf, you probably will be about level 20, and you can find level 34 Pokémon. If you can catch one of them and teach it Surf, it will probably carry you for a pretty long time into the game. This is a perfectly balanced rom hack. There are no balancing issues at all. In this instance, I don't stand a chance against this thing, so I run. Or try to anyways.
It takes out Izzy, and three of my Pickup Zigzagoons. This is how I managed to get so many powerful items early in the game. Pickup is overpowered in Ruby and Sapphire.
But I can run from this one. ok
I eventually get Thunderbolt. Izzy can finally do something other than Thunder Wave something and then die.
I wasn't even trying to fight this guy. I beat him, and head west.
I fight yet ANOTHER chef, and he has a Kirlia that spammed Calm Mind and Double Team. I send out Bruno to try to do some damage with Fake Out.
And Fake Out lands, and Crits. Calm Mind + Double Team + Stab Psychic = Death. I got STUPID lucky.
I stupidly decide to be the hero and save this guy.
I don't think he's supposed to have that.
They do have a zombie Electabuzz.
And another of those stupid things.
Max Potions, like regular potions, had their name changed. Why it went from Max to Maxi, I don't know. This was also a pretty difficult fight. These trainers are getting tough, I'm going to need to train soon.
I find out the identity of that weird man who was on the submarine last part. I guess he was a member of the Inquisition, whoever they are.
He also has rock types. I wanted to train Jay, but I guess that's not happening.
why are there so many chefs
they always have the same pokemon
I make it to Mauville, where a fight is about to begin.
There's still a clerk in this mart. They say that they will never abandon their position. That's dedication.
oh no. why are you here. please don't have twenty boxes of dialogue like you always do. (he does, and I didn't separate them because there were so many)
so much dialouge.
That will do it for this part. In the next part, I'll head to New Mauville. You all better get ready, the next few parts are going to be ridiculous. Have a nice day.

You can get a Snorlax evolution in this game. It's pretty good, but you'll have to do the Turmur chain first which IIRC requires you to get to the later parts of the game. Kenshira is easier to obtain and it's even more busted than Skylax; so you're only realistically getting Munchlax for completionist purposes (although I may be wrong, been a while)
Yung Dramps: I had forgotten, but it turns out that Luvdisc is different in this game.
Snakewood's Weezing stats are 70/91/121/86/71/61 (making it the best starter hands down), Claydol is the only starter that has remained the same (but it's still better than Parasect in my opinion). So they're all 500 BST
Sigh. I completed part 11, but it attached images from the next part, even though they weren't in the part, so I deleted them. Copying and pasting didn't work, I'll have to reattach all of the images. I at least have the script. Sorry about that.
Hello, I'm here for part 11. We are now entering some of the most infamous sections of Pokémon Snakewood, so get ready.
Wizard: I knew that Wezing had it's stats changed, but I didn't know all the starters were all 500 BST. That would probably explain it. I can't really give an opinion on the other starters because I didn't really use them once they evolved. I'm sure there good, considering they can learn good TMs, while Parasect doesn't.
Yeah, it's dumb that you have to get really far in the game to get Munchlax. I'll probably get it in some sort of "Sidequest part" or something near the end of the playthrough. I mostly agree about Kenshira, it's kind of rare and has a low catch rate, meaning it's not that easy to get, but it does come a lot earler. I used one in my last playthrough, and it was pretty op.
In the last part I made it to Mauville, where Mr. Text Wall Gleis told me to go to New Mauville, so that's where I'll be going.
Before that, I grind everyone up to level 27. I would like to say that I'm glad that I'm done with water routes, for now, because I am SO tired of seeing Qwilfish.
On my way back, I found this. I had no idea it was even here, I was just looking for hidden items. I haven't played the original games in a while, so it was probably just left there. I'm going to make a little change to how I upload pictures when there are text walls. If there's a bunch of text and I don't have anything to say, I'll upload them right next to each other.
That was a lot of text. So this is now a murder mystery game.
Got another Broken Heart. That makes 3 now.
Probably not a good thing to say when there's a murder bro.
Guess Wattson is still alive.
We got Nurse Joy, even though there's no wild Pokémon to fight.
Every scientists says the same thing. They're suspicious.
Wow! Glad that a gym leader is so helpful!
Me too.
The lady was right, two of the Pokeballs were Voltorb. I catch them because why not. I also get a Thunderstone, but don't use it on Pikachu because I may use it on another Pokémon later, and you don't find many evolution stones in this game.
Fire type Pokémon huh. You can't fight anyone in here, so it's impossible to know if anyone has fire types.
Now the game gives us no hint of where to go or who to talk to next. So who do you think will give us evidence? Wattson? The chef? The suspicious scientists? Nurse Joy? Any other person that didn't say anything important before? That person is. . .
the little girl. That's right the little girl knows something. I've played this game before and actually forgot that she had evidence this time around. The chef seemed pretty defensive when I talked to him earlier, so let's see what he has to say.
Maybe Wattson will be useful this time. I'm going to end this part here. In the next part, this mystery will be solved. Did the chef kill Wilfred? Or is someone else trying to frame an innocent man? Find out in the next part of "Pokémon Snakewood"!
Sorry for the cliffhanger, but there were a lot of images. The next part should be more interesting. Have a nice day.

Update: There will be a hiatus after the next few parts. I lost the save file. It's incredibly frustrating, but I'll have to replay up to the point I'm at. At least I know not to do what I did next time, and I can give a PSA to anybody who might be playing this game as well. Sorry if anyone is upset.
Edit: I'm already back at Dewford, so it shouldn't take me too long to get at least to where I was. The speedup on my computer is A LOT faster than my Phone.
Hello. I'm back after a mini break. I've still got some screenshots from my original save, so I'll be using those. I've gotten back to the part I left off with my old save on my new save. Today we'll be finishing the murder mystery.
In the last part, I went to New Mauville where Dantalion, Gleis's servant informed me that there was a murder, and I had to solve it. At the moment, Wattson's chef seems to be the culprit. Who did it? Let's ask Wattson and find out.
You know you should look at someone when you're talking to them. So the chef is becoming a former one huh? That's not good.
All the evidence seems to point to the chef. Did he do it? The answer is
The magnet, zap plate and electric z crystal all increase the power of electric moves.
Wtf is that. Must be another unnecessary item rename.
Guess Wattson is the one who did it? Let's see what happens.
So Wattson did it, AND he's a part of the Inquisition? Ok then. It's weird that he'd just confess like that.
Let's go Wattson. Show me what you've got.
oh. nevermind. Yep this is a forced loss. I'm not sure why, it's just Wattson, and I'm pretty sure he's not the leader of the Inquisition.
The fight goes about as expected. I actually almost take out his Luxray because of poison, but it really wouldn't have mattered.
Anyone who knows anything about gen 3 New Mauville knows what happens next.
Round 2. Let's do this, for real this time.
Somehow the generator being turned off de-evolved his Luxray? Why am I questioning this game?
His Shinx is no problem at all.
His next Pokémon is a Lanturn. An illegal one as well. It doesn't evolve until level 27. Doesn't even phase me anymore.
His Lanturn is annoying, but isn't at all a problem.
His next Pokémon is a Pikachu that can't even touch me. It goes down easily.
His Jolteon likes to spam Sand-Attack. It can't touch me, but I miss a lot.
I send out Bruno, because he has Vital Throw.
For some reason, I use Arm Thrust instead of Vital Throw. I don't remember why I did this. I did this fight like a week ago, which is why I'm not giving much commentary. Also, unlike some other fights, Wattson is a joke with my team.
I then decide to do the right move and just use Vital Throw. Should have done that from the beginning.
His next Pokémon is a Luxio. Guess if I was able to beat more of his level 100 Pokémon, I would have had two Luxrays.
I one shot it with a lucky 5 hit Rock Blast. Nice.
You know, Wattson has been pretty easy so far, I wonder what his last -
oh. OH. That's got to be a troll, right? Surely he doesn't have -
HE HAS A RAIKOU. WHY DOES WATTSON HAVE A RAIKOU? WHERE DID YOU GET THAT. WHY IS IT SO MUCH HIGHER LEVELED THAT THE REST OF HIS TEAM. ok. This shouldn't be too bad.
welp. rip. he swept me. he had superthunderboltwaveshock and one shot all of my pokemon i don't stand a chance.
but not really. none of that happened.
He doesn't have any super moves, he only has the moves a Raikou at level 33 would have. Which is surprising, I'm surprised it doesn't have some ridiculously op moves. Edit: These images show up as attachments at the bottom, which kind of spoils it, but oh well, what can you do?
And Wattson is done. He was definitely easier than Haruko, in my opinion. Parasect was the MVP of that fight. Still have no idea why the creator gave Wattson a Raikou, that was really dumb.
Looking back at it, that text is really confusing. The Officer is the one who said, "No they didn't", but there was no text indicating that he was the one speaking, making it look like I said that. Again, why am I questioning this game? It also looks like Wattson didn't even catch that Raikou through normal means. What a loser.
Alright, that seems like a good place to stop. Unlike the last few boss battles, I didn't end up with half of my team fainted. In the next part -
what. I kid you not, I moved one step after opening my party, and now Wattson is back? Surely it's just a visual glitch right?
Nope. I'm being 100% serious. If you open anything in the menu and walk one step, he'll respawn, and you can fight him again. With the nurse inside New Mauville, this could be a really good grinding spot. PSA: BE CAREFUL REMATCHING WATTSON, IT CAN MESS UP YOUR SAVE. I REMATCHED HIM WITH OUT COMPLETING THE NEXT AREA AND GOT SOFT-LOCKED. MAKE SURE TO HAVE A BACKUP. PSA OVER. Sorry, but I made the mistake of rematching Wattson before completing the next area in the game, and I could not progress. It's how I lost my save file.
I would also like to mention, that in the rematch, I soloed him with Bruno. lmao.
I return to Mauville, where this part actually ends. In the next part, I'll explore Mauville. I've made it back to where I ended this save, so I can continue this playthrough without any issues, hopefully. except for procrastiniation lol. Have a nice day.

I can't get over the fact this old man with a jolly smile in his sprite is a member of an organization called "The Inquisition".
Also, as if the difficulty spikes weren't idiotic enough, Raikou. I'd make a joke about a future major trainer having a mascot legendary, but honestly it'll probably actually happen.
