UU Entei

Stoward

Ah, you're finally awake
[OVERVIEW]
Unfortunately, Entei's place in UU is non-existent. Although Entei boasts a relatively impressive Attack stat, a reasonable Speed tier, access to the incredible move Sacred Fire, which has a 50% chance to burn opposing targets, and a solid priority option in Extreme Speed, that's where its good traits end. Sacred Fire, Stone Edge, and Extreme Speed aren't nearly as spammable as Entei would like due to their small PP number, and Entei's lack of a boosting move or generally impressive coverage means that it's entirely outclassed as a Fire-type wallbreaker by Infernape, which can more effectively run a Choice Band set thanks to it having a better Speed tier and STAB priority options, which allow it to adequately revenge kill faster threats such as Mega Sharpedo and Choice Scarf Krookodile and Hydreigon. Furthermore, unlike Entei, Infernape only takes neutral damage from Stealth Rock, meaning that it has more opportunities to be brought into the battlefield. Furthermore, thanks to having decent mixed offensive stats and access to Nasty Plot and Swords Dance, Infernape is able to run multiple sets, making it much less one-dimensional than Entei.

[SET]
name: Choice Band
move 1: Sacred Fire
move 2: Extreme Speed
move 3: Stone Edge
move 4: Flare Blitz
item: Choice Band
ability: Pressure
nature: Adamant
evs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
This set attempts to utilize Entei's impressive Attack as effectively as possible by providing it with a Choice Band to boost its Attack by one stage. Due to its limited movepool, however, it is unable to effectively do so, and as a result, it is walled by common Pokemon such as Mega Altaria, defensive Primarina, Latias, and Rhyperior that are all able to pivot into it with ease. The former two are also able to remove or utilize the burn from Sacred Fire, as Mega Altaria can run a Facade set or remove the burn with Refresh, while Primarina is able to fully recover with Rest. Ultimately, even as a Choice Band Fire-type wallbreaker, Entei is outclassed by Infernape, which boasts a more diverse movepool, a better Speed stat, and a lack of a Stealth Rock weakness, providing it with more wallbreaking opportunities.

This set attempts to utilize Entei's impressive Attack Stat as effectively as possible Just say it wants to use its attack stat to attempt to wallbreak but its limited movepool makes it unable to effectively do so and is thus walled by common Pokemon like Mega Altaria, defensive Primarina, Latias, and Rhyperior that pivot into it with relative ease, the former two even being able to remove the Sacred Fire burn. by providing it with a Choice Band to boost it's Attack by one stage. While it boasts a higher Attack stat, even as a Choice Band Fire-type Wallbreaker, it’s outclassed by Infernape, who boasts a more diverse movepool, a better Speed stat and a lack of a Stealth Rock Weakness providing it with more opportunities to enter the battlefield wall-breaking opportunities. This makes more sense cos that is essentially what all three of these points allow Infernape to do.
