:ludicolo: Ludicolo @ Assault Vest
Ability: Rain Dish
EVs: 204 HP / 52 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Giga Drain
- Ice Beam
- Hydro Pump
- Knock Off / Fake Out / Scald
What's a better way to beat Ludicolo by using the same mon to beat it!? Introducing: Assault Vest, Rain Dish Ludicolo.
LO Ludicolo can't 4HKO against it (adding Rain Dish in), and AV Ludicolo's Giga Drain does more damage than receiving it from LO Ludicolo.
RD and Giga Drain recovers you around 18-20% back.
With Knock Off to get rid of Life Orb, the Ludicolo can't even 5hko, barely 6HKO it. Not like it matters anyway as life orb puts Ludicolo in range of getting 3HKO. So you can run Fake Out to stall out rain or scald for utility.

This is why I nominate AV Ludicolo as a soft(?) counter.

LO Ludicolo
252+ SpA Life Orb Ludicolo Giga Drain vs. 204 HP / 0 SpD Assault Vest Ludicolo: 91-109 (25.8 - 30.9%) -- 4.1% chance to 4HKO after Rain Dish recovery (15.2 - 18.2% recovered)
252+ SpA Life Orb Ludicolo Giga Drain vs. 204 HP / 0 SpD Assault Vest Ludicolo: 91-109 (25.8 - 30.9%) -- guaranteed 4HKO
252+ SpA Ludicolo Giga Drain vs. 204 HP / 0 SpD Assault Vest Ludicolo: 70-84 (19.8 - 23.8%) -- possible 6HKO after Rain Dish recovery
(11.6 - 13.9% recovered)
252+ SpA Ludicolo Giga Drain vs. 204 HP / 0 SpD Assault Vest Ludicolo: 70-84 (19.8 - 23.8%) -- possible 5HKO

AV Ludicolo
52+ SpA Ludicolo Giga Drain vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Ludicolo: 85-102 (28.2 - 33.8%) -- 0.5% chance to 3HKO (12.2 - 14.4% recovered)

Silvally-Dragon @ Dragon Memory
Ability: RKS System
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Multi-Attack
- Iron Head
- Flamethrower

Check. Eats up Hydros and Gigas from Ludicolo but cannot take 2 Ice Beams:

252+ SpA Life Orb Ludicolo Ice Beam vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Silvally-Dragon: 229-270 (69.1 - 81.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

That's why it's listed as a check, however. Should it come in safely, it can SD up on one turn and then OHKO with Multi-Attack the next or it can just Multi-Attack two times in a row, either method will get the job done since it can (at most) take 1 Ice Beam:

252 Atk Silvally-Dragon Multi-Attack vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Ludicolo: 211-250 (70 - 83%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

dragonvally is a really bad check; assuming ludicolo is at full and under rain, you dont even ohko ludi after it the recoil it takes from life orb. if you're lucky and get a max roll you trade with ludi after life orb recoil, but honestly i wouldnt even consider it a check. if ludi gets a high roll on ice beam, dragonvally is in range of giga, which means you dont even beat it.

anyway, voting for fraxure and munchlax as checks and sliggo and av ludi as counters (btw u still beat opposing ludis even if you run swift swim on av)

I kinda asked Oath about this earlier as well. If rain is not up it wins though, so that's okay in a way because you assume the free switchin doesn't feature the turn where ludi sets up rain. But otherwise you're definitely correct. Ludicolo is really limited, so this week was pretty much first come first serve, as the most obvious mons such as null and munchlax immediately got picked straight away. Good job to squash for scouting out glaceon late into the week, which i didnt even think of.

Agree that Shed should probably be blacklisted, not to discredit how it can actually counter Ludi. Just that it's either the best counter to a mon or it isn't one at all. It would water down future votw's unfortunately.

Voting for Null & Glaceon for checks
Also only voting for Sliggoo as a counter

Well, since Silvally-Dragon got promoted, no sense in voting for him. But...

Checks: Fraxure, Glaceon
Counters: Shedinja (though I do agree he should be blacklisted as too easy of an out), Sliggoo

After some careful consideration from a few votes as well as a conversation with TL Akir, Shedinja is officially banned/blacklisted from being used as a submission. Kind of has that Bronzor feel from last gen when I blacklisted it then. Anyway, onto the results....

So yeah, my submission of Dragonvally seemed like a good idea in my head but gum was right and I do feel stupid for making a rash submission lol. It looks like it didn't matter in the end since it went up to NU by usage anyway.

This was a great amount of votes people, I LOVE IT!!! 19 people altogether voted and I want to see this consistently, this was great!!

Honorable mentions: None, the more notable ones were already picked

Fraxure - 11

Week 4
The mon that is being targeted this time is........

Raichu @ Life Orb
Ability: Lightning Rod
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Thunderbolt
- Focus Blast
- Surf / Grass Knot

I nominate Roselia (again) as a counter this time.
Roselia @ Eviolite
Calm Nature
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpA / 252 SpD
- Sludge Bomb
- Giga Drain
- Spikes
- Synthesis

Roselia is the true Raichu counter. It barely takes any damage, has a chance to 2HKO in return, and can even Synthesize damage back. I couldve done Appletun but I wanted to do Roselia again cuz I want to succeed with this thing lol. You can even set up spikes on Raichu if you want.

252 SpA Life Orb Raichu Thunderbolt vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Eviolite Roselia: 42-49 (13.8 - 16.1%) -- possible 7HKO (Yes this is the most it can do)

8 SpA Roselia Sludge Bomb vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Raichu: 118-139 (45.2 - 53.2%) -- 32.8% chance to 2HKO
8 SpA Roselia Giga Drain vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Raichu: 99-117 (37.9 - 44.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
