The deadline is Sunday, May 31st, at 11:59 PM Eastern time.
A few quick notes/reminders:
  • Congratulations to the Six Island Shitposters! They have achieved the 1st seed in the playoffs and will be awaiting the winner of this matchup in the finals.
  • Follow Smogon's Tournament rules (no ghosting, no leaking teams/sets in chat, etc)
  • All matches are Best of 1
  • All replays must be posted - the same policy regarding replays used in Seasonals will be used here. All matches without a replay will be treated as a double game loss.
  • I will grant activity wins or extensions if I have to, but only as a last resort. Do your best to get your games done on time!
  • Substitutions are allowed, but be sure to let the host, opposing player, and opposing manager know ASAP if one needs to happen. If both managers agree to switching matchups around in the same tier to accommodate timezone issues that is fine, but send me a PM on Smogon including both managers so that I know it's legit.
  • Predict against Croven
  • If any of the rosters are incorrect, PM me on discord asap and I will edit

Semifinals predictions breakdown:

Squirtles: 11 / Ghosters: 10 / Tiebreaker: 6

  • Spurrific: 10 / emforbes: 17

it's semis man let's get some HYPE! I'll post my predictions itt:

SS1: qsns vs Ezrael - qsns can definitely win here, but I simply expect Jon to keep winning.

SS2: YoBuddy vs EternalSnowman - I actually predicted this match the other way around last time. However I don't think esm has it in himself to bring a viable team two weeks in a row. As long as yobuddy doesn't rock slide the Incineroar again, that should be all he needs to take this one.

SS3: talkingtree vs frania - I flipped my predict on this one too. Both of these players are good but very susceptible to nerves, so on a big stage like DPL playoffs, playing fifth or sixth, this is probably going to be a clown fiesta of a match. In the end, I just predicted frania because I think these players are too close in skill to not split sets.

SM: Spurrific vs emforbes - This is my boldest call of the week for sure, and I don't have any justification. Emilio is really good at getting into people's heads, and for someone he knows well like Justin, that will probably happen even moreso (it sure does to me...). But for some reason I am expecting Justin to have matchup and ignore Emilio's mindgames as he coasts to a victory on safe plays.

XY: Level 51 vs DLT JRL BELL - Sorry JRL but Level 51 has been absolutely crushing the competition in XY unless his competition was also undefeated. Just good play coming from 51 every week. I'm really excited to see what crazy pick 51 brings out this week.

BW: Mizuhime vs DaWoblefet - Mizu's been playing some fine Pokemon—better than the crust rule would have predicted, really—but the List is fundamentally solid and I think Mizu's teams have not been. This is an even match on the playing field, but I think Wob will outbuild.


Overall: tie - simply a safe play. I can afford to lose 25 points on a wrong call, but I can't afford to lose 50 on a wrong call + wrong tiebreaker call.
