Tapu Lele @ Choice Specs
Ability: Psychic Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Thunderbolt/Thunder
- Moonblast
- Psyshock
- Focus Blast/Psychic

Corviknight is usually a solid switchin to specs lele, being able to scout its move and allowing the player to react appropriately from there. However, with a modest nature, the electric move of your choice and good prediction, corv will be taking huge amounts of damage, if not dying outright.

Calcs:
252+ SpA Choice Specs Tapu Lele Thunderbolt vs. 252 HP / 72 SpD Corviknight: 340-402 (85 - 100.5%) -- 6.3% chance to OHKO

252+ SpA Choice Specs Tapu Lele Thunderbolt vs. 252 HP / 72 SpD Corviknight: 340-402 (85 - 100.5%) -- 81.3% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

252+ SpA Choice Specs Tapu Lele Thunder vs. 252 HP / 72 SpD Corviknight: 416-490 (104 - 122.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Usually, rocky helmet Corviknight can usually come in take one and then roost/u-turn. But, now with this addition of sd weavile gaining popular lets bring the big icium back.

Melmetal @ Protective Pads
Ability: Iron Fist
EVs: 164 HP / 252 Atk / 92 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Double Iron Bash
- Thunder Wave
- Thunder Punch
- Earthquake

Corv switches in safely on most Melmetal sets, hoping to chip it down through helmet and/or take away 2 precious DIB PP. It can roost on tpunch and doesn't care about toxic. twave Melmetal destroys corv, 3hkoing (allowing you to spam tpunch until a full para) or even 2HKOing after a DIB flinch (about 63% including para).

252+ Atk Iron Fist Melmetal Thunder Punch vs. 252 HP / 184+ Def Corviknight: 170-202 (42.5 - 50.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Iron Fist Melmetal Double Iron Bash (2 hits) vs. 252 HP / 184+ Def Corviknight: 102-120 (25.5 - 30%) -- approx. 0% chance to 4HKO after Leftovers recovery

Now, if you know your type effectiveness chart, you might be thinking that bird up there is looking to make a snack out of this here good bug.
But if you've read the Pokédex, you'd know this here beetle's got some "Herculean powers" and no shortage of feats.

How this works is very simple, but hidden in plain sight, so pay attention or you might miss it:
Step 1. Press Swords Dance.
Step 2. Press Close Combat.

+2 252+ Atk Heracross-Mega Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Corviknight: 391-462 (97.7 - 115.5%) -- 87.5% chance to OHKO
+2 252+ Atk Heracross-Mega Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Toxapex: 334-394 (109.8 - 129.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+2 252+ Atk Heracross-Mega Rock Blast (5 hits) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Clefable: 345-410 (87.5 - 104%) -- approx. 6.3% chance to OHKO

Congratulations, you have successfully knocked out every Corviknight ever!
Go crack open a cold one with the boys to celebrate.

Kartana @ Fightinium Z
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Leaf Blade
- Sacred Sword
- Knock Off

Corviknight is one of the best kartana answers, and doesn't think twice about inviting itself into kartana's house. Even if it comes in on SD kart thinking it's choice locked, it can pivot out to a teammate that can offensively deal with it. This set is great for surprising corviknight, because kartana not only invited corviknight to it's house, it brought a trick up its sleeve.

+2 252 Atk Kartana All-Out Pummeling (175 BP) vs. 252 HP / 184+ Def Corviknight: 360-424 (90 - 106%) -- 37.5% chance to OHKO

With rocks up, +2 pummel is guaranteed to kill corviknight.
Honestly less useful than Normalium Z but we aren't luring zapdos, we're luring corv

Power went out yesterday, so I’m a bit late on this. We have a tie between Melmetal and Tapu Lele! I’ll give someone 24 hours to break thetie before letting adem do so.

Week 9: Rocky Helmet Tangrowth

Banned deucer.
:ss/Azumarill:

Azumarill @ Leftovers
Ability: Sap Sipper
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Whirlpool
- Toxic
- Perish Song
- Protect

Sap Sipper Azumarill lures in Tangrowth because they usually expect the Belly Drum set and try to come in and take a hit only to be trapped and killed by Whirlpool and Perish Song. They can't touch you back because you're immune to Grass and resist their other attacks so you just kill it.

You also do the same to all the other Grass types except Rillaboom and Mega Venusaur.

Landorus-Therian (M) @ Flyinium Z
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 108 HP / 188 Atk / 212 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Fly
- Smack Down

188+ Atk Landorus-Therian Supersonic Skystrike (175 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Tangrowth: 404-476 (100 - 117.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO

I've been advocating for this Landorus-T set for quite a while now, it gets rocks up vs every single viable defogger, as well as being nigh impossible to switch into. Flying + Ground is perfect coverage barring opposing flying types, and Smack Down allows you to EQ them into the dust, as Adamant Lando with its 400+ Atk stat hits incredibly hard. Also, absolutely nothing can take the combination of Earthquake + Supersonic Skystrike, so this Lando set ends up netting you at least one kill every single game.

- Rock Slide

+2 252+ Atk Excadrill Corkscrew Crash (160 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Tangrowth: 364-429 (90 - 106.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock

Ok so, most people may problably know about that but yeah Z drill ohko tang after sd, most players switch tang into drill so just click sd and smoke it. you can also try Z giga impact to lure zap but the theme here is lute tang KEKWL

:ss/swampert-mega:

Swampert-Mega @ Swampertite
Ability: Damp
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Earth Power
- Ice Beam
- Flip Turn

The surprise factor is what's going for swampert here, considering it doesn't have the best special attack when compared to its gargantuan physical attack. It special attack is still pretty good for a swift swimmer, launching very powerful hydro pumps that can't be intimidated.

252+ SpA Swampert-Mega Ice Beam vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Tangrowth: 298-352 (73.7 - 87.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

If hit on the switch with hydro/ep, or with stealth rocks + chip, it can finish off tangrowth.

not a good set tho, gets walled by more than if it were just physical. could pair with barraskewda to put on pressure for special walls.

By running intimidate, most people will assume that your gyarados will be mega, as normal gyarados will be running moxie (for good reason) and as such are more than happy to go into tang, not expecting a supersonic skystrike on the switch.

+1 252 Atk Gyarados Supersonic Skystrike (160 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Tangrowth: 470-554 (116.3 - 137.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Pretty basic lure, Tangrowth comes in on the usual sd sets and then you click your red button, with a guarenteed ohko after stealth rocks, so keep that in mind
