I think that in the games, mimikyu is terrifying because it’s ghost max move lowers the opponents defense by one and it’s fairy max move setting up misty terrain, which makes mimikyu not be statused, which makes it a terrifying sweeper (not to mention that because Fire/normal, poison/normal, ghost/steel Pokémon aren’t in gen 8, it’s stab combination goes through teams.)

In the showdown OU, however, mimikyu struggles to faster attackers, physical walls and u-turn/voltswitch users that break its rags. It also is a target for any status (sleep let’s it unable to move, paralyzing causes it to be slower than things like Bisharp and clef, burn halves it’s attack, and poison cripples mimikyu because it doesn’t have reliable recovery methods).
