Greninja seems like a safe bet, it’s super popular and poison sort of fits thematically since it’s a frog. My only other guess is one of the PLA mons, since that weekend is the anniversary of its release. Dunno what would fit with poison though.

Nope. I think it was Area 4 though - south/southeast of the bug gym, I didn’t find any on the beaches near the player’s house. They were like lv18-20.

You can catch them at any of the beaches. I found a couple south of the bug gym and there should be more near the electric one.
