It's one of the best pult soft-checks, spreads status, has naturally high offensive stats, rock blast for sub shenanigans, twave and 4MSS so that the opponent always has to guess which set it is. It'll stick around, even if in the lower realms of OU.

Removal of pursuit, no perma weather, added moves and abilities, different move effects (Defog) are some of the most notable besides the ones you mentioned. Also type changes like Rotom.

I'm not a Doubles players but what I can imagine is that Spore has rather limited distribution and its abusers aren't the quickest/strongest, whereas moves like Dark Void/Hypnosis/Sleep Powder/Sing have wider distribution and more potent abusers.

Good to see Kings Rock banned. It was often very frustrating as your dedicated (soft) checks / counters that could live off 1-2 Skill Link hits that got flinched by pure BS and also the opponent often relied too much on it too which hurts the overall skill level on the high ladder too.
