Fixing two issues in ADV NU (BP and Luck Items)

I thought I saw a complaint about it in the NU disc, and as I don't really use Bright Powder, I had assumed it was still legal. That's my mistake, and I should have checked more closely.

Fixing two issues in ADV NU (BP and Luck Items)

Full-Pass teams have sorta been hiding in the background of NUPL to try to fish wins when players and builders are feeling particularly lazy during a week. To be clear, they aren't really amazing, and struggle significantly into boom-heavy teams, which are fairly solid in ADVNU, but they exist...

    CAP 32 - Part 4 - Defining Moves Part 1

    1) I'm a huge fan of Eruption. This is, without a doubt, the single strongest move we can click, and lets us punch far above our weight class when it comes to offenses, even at lower spA values. It absolutely requires a lot of working around, as its very dependent on keeping us healthy, but...

    CAP 32 - Part 4 - Defining Moves Part 1

Moderator Hat on. CAP generally is against making decisions on competitive steps based on flavor concerns. To pick on Astrolotl, as its a very well received recent design, its very smooth, and spikes are very rough, and I've seen no complaints about mismatch between flavor and function there.

    CAP 32 - Part 4 - Defining Moves Part 1

I'm definitely in favor of a deliberately broad list in this stage. A lot of moves are going to have very specific interactions with different abilities, and making the list expansive enough to work with a number of different abilities absolutely should be our goal moving forward here. As for...

    CAP 32 - Part 4 - Defining Moves Part 1

CAP 32 So Far ----- In this stage, we will develop sets of moves that will meaningfully affect future stages of the process for this CAP. These moves will need to be addressed in the stat limits and stat submission stages in order to contextualize submitted spreads. For example, a stat...

    Announcement SV CAP C&C Updates

With the conclusion of CAP CL, CAP C&C is now open for analysis work. We'll be doing the same analysis format as last gen, aka Sets + Checks and Counters, as seen in the first post of the reservation index. The rest of this thread will be reserved for major updates on our C&C process.

    CAP32 - Part 3 - Concept Assessment 2

Gotta agree with Ama that defensive pivot fits us well. Fire + Fairy is a pretty great offensive combo if you want to use it to ward off opponents switching in, but it becomes a bit (read, only a bit, its very competent on a wallbreaking profile) worse if you expect it to carry much of your...

    CAP 32 - Part 2 - Typing Discussion

Gonna disagree with bob's post above. Being SR weak is absolutely a minus, but realistically HDB is already such a good item anyways on a large number of roles its not an absurd issue. Beyond that, Knock Off is at its lowest level since gen5, and its really not that hard to just avoid swapping...

    CAP 32 - Part 2 - Typing Discussion

Moderator hat on: Please don't mention specific uncommon move options when justifying a typing for selection. This is generally considered poll jumping, as it justifies a typing based on the results of a later stage.

    CAP 32 - Part 2 - Typing Discussion

Fire / Flying Fire / Flying gives CAP 32 a great mix of defensive prowess, with 6 resistances, including common attacking typings such as Fighting, Fairy, and Fire, as well as an immunity to Ground attacks, as well as two great attacking STABs, both of which offer 100+ BP moves on both sides of...

    CAP 32 - Part 2 - Typing Discussion

This is hella out of context of the rest of the thread, but I'd like to remind folks again. When evaluating a typing, don't look at what types you resist, but rather what threats you resist. Fire/Ground, to pick on an example, objectively does resist (is immune to) Electric, however, as we all...

    CAP 32 - Part 1 - Concept Assessment

I think my issue with Clodsire is that it has excellent HP and Special Defense. Breloom by contrast has excellent Atrack. My filter really is that we should only really have one excellent stat maximum if we wanna ensure that we need to invest to really excel in an area.
