Pokemon Day Presents 2024 - Pokemon LZA 2025

I think it just means that it will be released at the same time in every country, rather than the separate Japanese and non-Japanese release dates they used to have. Not sure why they had to mention that, though, they've been operating on single release dates for years now.

Pokemon Day Presents 2024 - Pokemon LZA 2025

Based on what happened last gen, I'm assuming Legends: ZA will be released sometime around January or February 2025 like how Legends: Arceus was released in January 2022, then the Gen 10 games will come out in November 2025, following the pattern of new mainline games releasing in November every...

Metagame SV OU Metagame Discussion v4 [NEW TIERING RESULTS POST 11597]

The effect chances on multiple hits don't add together; to get the total effect chance, multiply the chance for the effect to not proc on each hit by the number of hits and subtract that number from 1, then convert to percentages if you want. For a 10-hit Population Bomb with King's Rock, the...

Thankfully, the council's voting on a new slate, so there should be an update within a few days

For Pokemon that become available in the middle of a month, their usage stats for that month won't affect their tier placements (perhaps unless they dropped very early in the month)

It hasn't been released in SV yet, only appearing in Legends: Arceus (which is technically Gen 8). Until Home drops, it's only legal in NatDex formats, since it's currently not obtainable in any flagship main-series game (e.g. SV, SS, etc.).

You'll need to make a second account and send a challenge to it from a different computer or through an incognito window. Thankfully, it's really easy to make an account, so it shouldn't be too much work to set up (aside from copying/exporting one team over)

Yeah, it's been legal since XY since weather has no longer been permanent since Gen 5

Metagame Terastallization Tiering Discussion [ UPDATE POST #1293]

According to this post, it applies after Technician, but before STAB. It also doesn't affect priority moves or multi-hit moves, so no luck with Bullet Punch

I think that refers to the move Sandstorm, rather than the weather condition we call "sandstorm". The effects aren't a move, so I doubt it would activate Brambleghast's ability; it would just be activated by the setting of manual Sandstorm, since that requires the move Sandstorm to be used.

Metagame Terastallization Tiering Discussion [ UPDATE POST #1293]

I agree, and that's why I think ranked-choice voting with 3+ options (likely full ban, no action, type preview, and one or two others) is the way to go. It seems likely we can't get the majority to favor one option, but it'd be good to come to a result most are at least okay with.

SPOILERS! Datamine Thread - Pokemon Information - Some Datamines

Transfer moves are no longer a thing. Transferred mons get their moves replaced with level-up moves (so no No Guard Fissure Machamp and Technician Curse Scizor)

I assume that Legends: Arceus would be its own metagame like LGPE, but BDSP would probably be compatible with the current Gen 8 meta.

Yeah, I reset. I've only played two games on the new alt (same team as before), but I did win both, so that's a good start

Interesting, I didn't think of changing teams part of the way through. On my first alt, I used a balance team, but I only went 22-15 with it and, after others' suggestions, reset with a new alt. You're definitely right about low ladder (a low-ladder like me had to get to 11-1 somehow), but yeah...

Ok, thanks. I definitely feel comfortable with my team and think that it's really fun to use, mostly just because sweeping with Volc or Bisharp is very satisfying.

I'm using a screens offense team with Koko and 5 setup sweepers (Bisharp, Volcarona, Dragapult, Zama-C, and Garchomp); would such a team still be effective at 1500-1600 Elo? At my current position at 1300 or so I usually just blitz through unprepared teams, but I assume at higher Elo people...

Thanks Finch and ausma! I'll try to keep going; this is my first time trying to get reqs, and this suspect is one I'm interested in.

I'm trying to get reqs for the current suspect test; is 11-1 a good enough start? If it matters, the loss was game #9.

Metagame SS OU Metagame Discussion Thread v7 (Usage Stats in post #3539)

From my 37-game experience using Volcarona (the physically bulky set), I don't think it's unhealthy. Don't get me wrong, it's still quite good, but not at all banworthy. If bulky, it often can't have enough coverage to beat some mons (I ran Psychic over Bug Buzz, so the Slowtwins walled Volc)...
