We’re slowly working our way back to the Dexit Flame War so let’s maybe shift gears? I have a feeling we’re going to be seeing starter evolutions soon. Any hopes for designs or typings? I can see Grokey getting another stick (so he’s a proper drummer) or a little block to hit it against. I...

Sounds like we’re going to be getting game news almost every week in the last few months, just like with Sun and Moon. Speaking of, wasn’t it around this time that we got the starter evolutions for that gen?

I did not know this. It’s been implied that we’d have to Dynamax to get to Gigantamax in the past and I guess it just stuck. -A better question then might be: If I have a Poke that’s able to Gigantamax, do I have to Gigantamax it or can I choose to Dynamax it? I have a feeling Gigantamaxing...

Things I’d like to know about the new gimmick, given what we know so far: -Can you Gigantamax and Dynamax two different Pokémon during the same battle, or is the progression Base Form -> Dynamax Form -> Gigantamax Form (if applicable)? -Do you have to Dynamax your Pokémon before Gigantamaxing...

My hope would be that they just reuse the Mega-X evo for the gigantamax form. It’s different enough from the base form and looks good. Why waste time and resources on designing a new form? Also, do we know how long Gigantamax lasts? Is it the same amount as Dynamax (3 turns)?

Are we getting version exclusive gyms this generation? Bea (fighting type) had a Sword logo in her intro and Allistar (Ghost) had the shield logo. Would be a good way to shake up the games imo.

I imagine that they are among the first four. If we’re getting grass and water gyms, I assume we are also getting a fire one, to round out the trio. If the map is accurate I think we could also get steel, rock, and ice gyms based on stadium locations. Maybe dragon as well with that giant castle...

One of my hopes, with Yamper and it’s supposed evolution looking like physical electric types, is a new physical electric move. Thunder Fang and Thunder Punch have bad distribution, and the former is underpowered. Meanwhile Wild Charge dealing recoil is not ideal for an archetype not known for...

A part of me is wondering what will happen with Gen IX at this point. As was pointed out earlier, we've all come around to the idea then Dynamaxing is this gen's gimmick, and that it won't be present 3 years from now. A gimmick GF cut dozens, if not hundreds, of Pokemon out for. The fans accept...

The Cincinno line, Noctowl line, Braviary line, Sawk, Dusknoir line, Mudsdale line, Seismitoad line, Vanilluxe line, Glalie line, and Golisopod line are all confirmed for SwSh, according to Serebii. I think what really determines popularity would be a mix of profitable merchandise, online...

I've been thinking about what Pokemon, out of the current ones, I would exclude in the Galar Dex if I were Game Freak. Assuming we get about 90 Galarian Pokemon, and wanting to keep the Pokedex manageable and the game on schedule, I have a feeling we'll wind up somewhere in the ballpark of...

This is going to be my last post on this topic, as it looks like we're getting more and more evidence that Pokemon absence is going to be the official policy going forward. Pokemon is a 24 year old franchise. So far there are 820-ish Pokemon. Just Pokemon, not forms, not megas, not shinies, and...

Kind of? We don't know what Home will do yet, or GF plans for the future with it. If they're going to do the rotating dex thing going forward as Pikachu315111 suggests (which I think would be a smart move) this seems like the best option, especially when you have to tie in spin-off games. Maybe...

Well, that was an interesting update. First, to address the elephant in the room (the removed Pokemon), all I can say is patience. The announcement was made today, and we'll probably get more info in the coming weeks. Throwing all things Pokemon into a pit and setting them on fire while we're...

There was also an area in the trailer with a bunch of Snover, which I assume will be in the northern area. This area seems to be a lot bigger than what we initially thought, which I think is a good thing. Also, I guess the trains are a sort of fast travel that allows us to bypass the Wild Areas?

Yea, the angle made him look to have three horns for a sec. So maybe no Megas as well?

Well now I'm getting Sword so that I can get Great Wolf Sif....I mean Zacian The Champion has a Mega-Charizard Y so I guess Megas are present. Now I wonder if they can also Dynamax (Which looks pretty good and seems to replace Z moves)

(This is a bit off topic, so mods if you want to delete this post feel free.) I kinda feel like the usual formula for Pokemon was screwed up due to the 20th anniversary. Usually we would get a sequel(s) to a region after remakes, usually two years after the initial release of a new generation...

Woo! It's good to be back in speculation mode! So here we are, Gen 8! Galar sounds like an interesting region, and the UK has a lot of history to draw upon for inspiration, so I'm approaching the game with tepid optimism. Anyway, here are my first impressions: The Map: The region does seem a...
