Metagame NP: NU Stage 2- Don't Start Now (Gallade Banned)

Right off the bat, Decidueye is looking to be the most influential, or at least most versatile, of these drops by far. It has a large variety of effective sets, with really solid STABs such as Leaf Blade, Poltergeist, Shadow Sneak, and even Leaf Storm/Shadow Ball, that it can use that range from...

Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald In-Game Tier List Discussion

This is weird to me because from my testing experiences, Electrode actually performs significantly better than Magneton and Manectric vs Glacia due to one crucial factor: a reliably speedy Light Screen, which Magneton might not be fast enough for while Manectric doesn't even get. This gives...

Pokemon RBY In-Game Tiers - Mark III

Considering a Vulpix obtained at that point has literally nothing but unfavorable/inadequate boss matchups left for it, I think it's safe to say it would have little bearing on its tiering.

SPOILERS! Pokemon Sword and Shield Datamine Thread

Probably the most damning example of this is how I no longer see High Horsepower in Azumarill's TR list.

Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald In-Game Tier List Discussion

You know it's interesting that Electrike and Taillow are brought up, because they have one thing in common: they come far earlier than their significant competition (Electrike vs Magnemite/Voltorb/Pikachu, Taillow vs Doduo), but don't exactly have a significant enough track record against the...

Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald In-Game Tier List Discussion

E to F I believed I ran Lileep more or less the best way I could think of; I made use of its access to Confuse Ray, the nearby Toxic TM in Fiery Path, and its Normal resistance to get the upper hand against Norman, taught it SunnyBeam afterward to give it a primary form of offense, and finally...

Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald In-Game Tier List Discussion

Well for one thing, it's not quite fair to harp on Ralts's babying period when Abra also has its own babying period where it needs to evolve before it can even fight Brawly, while Ralts can use Brawly's gym trainers for experience to fuel itself in the meantime. Here's my reasoning for S Rank...

Metagame NP: NU Stage 1- Criminal (Indeedee-F and Porygon2 banned)

In light of the recent bans, I would like to bring up some interesting threats. DarkVally is likely going to be the premier offensive Dark-type in the tier, as it doesn't pick up very far from where Sneasel left off. It has very powerful Dark-type STAB in Multi-Attack which is strong enough to...

Metagame NP: RU Stage 1 - I Lost Something in the Hills (Indeedee-M banned)

Over the past couple of days, I have been excited in trying out Centi in RU since it has a fantastic boosting move, great resists + overall bulk, and access to all kinds of coverage to boot. The bulky sets especially are arguably meta-defining due to how much more necessary Rock coverage becomes...

Metagame NP: NU Stage 1- Criminal (Indeedee-F and Porygon2 banned)

Anyway... This will probably be the most immediate Kingler replacement that people will be drawn to, given that it shares many traits such as Swords Dance, potent Water-, Rock-, & Ground-type coverage, Superpower, and similar speed. Drednaw even has 'pseudo-Agility' in the form of Rain Dance +...

Data Usage-Based Tier Update for February 2020 (NU time!)

LC does not operate on the usage stats of the usage-based tiers. Being LC-eligible has nothing to do with whether the mon is newly released or not; they just follow two simple criteria (can it evolve and can it be obtained at/below level 5). A newly released mon can be eligible for LC but STILL...

Data Usage-Based Tier Update for February 2020 (NU time!)

Simple response here: it doesn't matter if Slowpoke could evolve or not. Newly released Pokemon will start off in OU and drop tier by tier like any other Pokemon, NFE or not. Slowpoke-Galar is not even the first example of this: USUM Poipole also had to start out in OU and drop slowly down the...

Metagame SWSH RU Alpha - Metagame Thread

Can I just talk about Salazzle and just how good it is in this meta? It has great power and by far the most important Speed benchmark in RU which would already secure it a solid position in the tier, but it also has a +2 boosting move and a divine enough typing to find setup opportunities...

Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald In-Game Tier List Discussion

It honestly really doesn't help; the most common Rock-types are the Aron line and the Geodude line, but the former isn't weak to Steel and the latter is likely to kill Taillow/Swellow before vice-versa (that or blow up). Only Skarmory is able to make use of Steel Wing to actually beat these...

Merritt , can we get a summary of all the written analyses so far? You could compile them onto your reserved post on the front page, which is what I presume it's for. Name: Pikachu Availability: Pikachu can be found in the southern areas of the Safari Zone with a 15% encounter rate. Stats...

It was already buffed from 14 BP 85 acc to 25 BP 95 acc come Gen 6; it's solid enough as is without need for a further buff. Unless they decide to make it perfectly accurate like Icicle Spear and Bullet Seed, but I don't see that being likely since these two started out perfectly accurate...

The time origins of the regional variants aren't set in stone anyways; Galarian Zigzagoon is said to be the oldest known variant, while Galarian Corsola is implied to result from 'coral bleaching' caused by human pollution.

Would just like to point out that "Jet Plane Face Dragon" is based on the Diplocaulus, a prehistoric animal that actually existed. So yeah the fact that you didn't even know about Dragapult's origins speaks a lot more about its subtlety than your comparison to "Land Shark" Garchomp.
