Something I did only five minutes ago: raise Hatterene to Lv. 64 with candies so it learns Magic Powder go to Split-Decision Ruins select electric pattern send out Hatterene to use Magic Powder on Regieleki, so I can then use Thunder Wave on it realise I did not bring a Pokémon with Thunder...

Little things you like about Pokémon

Don't forget about Dream Radar, which gave access to a bunch of legendaries at levels as low as 5! I have particularly fond memories of this feature since it was the foundation of one of the most enjoyable playthroughs I've ever done, a White 2 run with a Landorus and Giratina on my team.

    Unpopular opinions

Given that the CT datamine thread is having some kind of day, here's what appears to be an unpopular opinion: I like and am broadly satisfied with the Crown Tundra

Let's Play! Jordan Plays Pokemon Omicron (In Kivu Town)

Just FYI, this can be fixed by using the "Run as administrator" or "Install for all users" function to launch the game - once you complete this screen in that mode it'll lock it in permanently. Have fun with the playthrough! Looking forward to updates

    Orange Islands SQSA Thread

Using items that I tend to end up with a lot of, these should work: Upgrade: Pecha Berry + Everstone + Wishing Piece + Wishing Piece Dubious Disc: Pecha Berry + Rare Candy + Rare Candy + Wishing Piece (Wishing Pieces can themselves be made by combining four Dynamax Candies to get a Dragon Fang...

Sword & Shield **Official news only** DLC Crown Tundra 22nd October

Rewatched the Direct just to be sure, and the exact quote is "Both areas are in fact seamless maps, much like the Wild Area you can already experience in the Galar region, where players are able to move around freely and control the camera"; there's apparently also "more to do" in the expansion...

Nothing like a complete list, but there's a graphic on the website that shows some of the species returning in each expansion: Isle of Armor: Horsea line, Larvesta line, Magnemite line, Rockruff line, Zorua line, Azurill line, Happiny line, Dedenne Crown Tundra: Beldum line, Amaura line...

what just happened Seriously though, if this is the way Game Freak is breaking their no-DLC-for-Pokémon rule, I'm all in - the new areas look glorious (and I'm very excited for fully mobile cameras all the way through), a bunch of legendaries are coming back, and it looks like we're just...

Dracovish, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways: head tail head attached directly to tail torso is Just There™ (cool typing, interesting signature move, etc.)

Sword & Shield **Official news only** DLC Crown Tundra 22nd October

Well this definitely doesn't look ominous at all (from 1:59 in the video): I have to say, I do respect how much they committed to the mediaeval aesthetic in the tapestries here, complete with awkward profiles and dorky expressions - and I'm intrigued by the fact that Zacian and Zamazenta only...

Sword & Shield **Official news only** DLC Crown Tundra 22nd October

The whole Breath of the Wild map is a bit over 60 km², and there are fifteen regions in its Hyrule, so two regions is about 8 or 9 km² (somewhat over three square miles). That is... not an insubstantial Wild Area.

I'm largely unimpressed by these new Gigantamaxes, which makes the following piece of trivia less interesting to me than it might otherwise be: at 33 metres / 108'3", Gigantamax Meowth is currently the tallest known Pokémon form

The high, piping synth also reminds me a bit of the Marine Tube theme in B2W2.

There is a precedent for different forms of a Pokémon species being different classifications, though - Hoopa Confined is the "Mischief Pokémon", whereas Hoopa Unbound is the "Djinn Pokémon". Have to say, I'm a little bit disappointed that Galarian Ponyta isn't a Fairy-type - that design would...

I guess a possible counterargument to this would be that the regional variants of Sandshrew and Sandslash got retyped to Ice/Steel, despite their names pretty obviously marking them as Ground-types (not just in English, but in Japanese and most other translations too). That said, I'd be...
