for albums i'd recommend king knight by salem and black earth that made me by white ring. it requires a fair amount of work to find the meat in this genre but i assure you it is quite tender.

I got into it when I heard Salem on a Paul Devro mix.

Google led me to some shit and I found Mater Suspira Vision. The Zombie Rave stuff they do I can dig but that droney dragged out shit is unbearable for me. I also hate how their releases are all limited :\

oooOoO and Tearist are probably the only stuff outside of Salem, MSR, and forward slashes triangles forward slashes I like.

Kinda weird that Witch House came to be after the whole Chillwave craze.

all night all i've done is just put on a salem playlist and the general witch house playlist that came from youtube, and damn. relaxing as hell stuff. some videos can't be played in playlists for some reason or a few minutes of silence are tacked on to the end of things, though. whatever, this stuff rules, i've only found one track i didn't like so far !

much like chillwave (which sprung up as a 'genre' around the same time witch haus did) i never tried too all that hard to get into this. a lot of my friends are into it, and i definitely see the appeal -- it's just not my cup of tea. i have a couple of songs to share though:

balam acab -- see birds (moon)

this little ep is about the only thing out of witch house that's ever stuck out in any sort of way for me... and, well, these songs aren't even that great in my opinion. i'm not saying i'm not a fan of anguished, brooding, 'patient' music but most of this stuff is just boring to me. but that's only my opinion, and it's relatively uneducated.

so rather than playing witch house this halloween i'll probably either turn the heat to blazing and blast early swans or turn the ac to freezing and play the la vampires/zola jesus split.
