I think leave the deepwolf to catch till last though if it exists. It is a lot more likely to hit scum in the scummy pool, but if someone who shouldn't be in lylo is there starting considering a deepwolf.
 
I agree with the sentiment Caff but equally personal preference is not to read back through past games to ascertain meta cos I always feel like the conclusions are off.

You sorta need to be there to really suss out meta imo

re: shub that post was unclear but iirc if you look at the post i'm referring to, #172 and #173, by 'responded well' i mean that they actually understood it was mainly a shitpost and responded to it in kind, rather than not understanding it. the 'same with shubaka' was abt the buddying up, not the townread on celever -- i think i didn't have a read on shubaka at this point. i don't think i had a read on him on the next post you're referring to either.

re: former -- i was against the former vote initially because it's dangerous to vote off an experienced player first round and leave only one other experienced player there. celever and dusk went in hard on former and at that point i townread them both and had a lot of doubts abt everything so i think my opinion was swayed here more against former, but the reasoning celever and dusk used was solid i didn't think former's defence held up well at all (it didn't). by the time it got to dusk vs former at EoD i was weirded out by how confident dusk was that former was maf when literally no-one else was that confident, so i had it down as one of them had to be maf, and based on logic and celever going in on him too and how susceptible i am to other people's opinions feeding my own i thought it was more likely to be former. i think you can see as you watch my post progression that i'm less and less confident on it being former over dusk but idunno if i kept that in my head

but more importantly,

have you forgotten your own EoD? you voted former too? i actually noted down at EoD how you were sort of buddying up to me, trying to get a mindmeld read, based on 1) vocally hating how EoD was going (#460, #474), 2) hedging bets on former vs dusk (#498) and then eventually voting former relatively out the blue (#614) -- but then you go 'oh thinking back i gave tommy too much of a pass' (#798) -- imo you come off really bad this whole interaction (former also noted this iirc)

I get changing opinions in general ftr and agree this game is hard, ftr, so its not that you're changing opinions that bothers me as much as *why* you're doing it.

Ftr you literally said you were townread shubaka here (a page before the one you linked I think, just going by post numbers) so like... do you just not remember having this read?

Wrt Former fair enough, I can see why that would make you less confident over time but uh, forcing it into a 1v1 I'm less sure of.

I don't think hating how the EOD was going means much considering we had two players selfvoting and 3 competing wagons which almost nobody had any confidence on + I was the person who could swing the wagons in any direction and I fucking hate that position dude because I don't wanna be the one who throws. I started to worry about Tommy because I was wondering if there was something I was missing with everyone else starting to express worries about him making me reexamine my own read and thinking it probably wasn't as strong as I previously t

I voted Former in the end because I read shub as townier and I felt like BGB had given me enough by the end of the day that I was willing to keep them alive over Former after I kept questioning them. Also ngl all the shit like "I'd never do this as mafia" just made me paranoid and also not want to pass up lynching it in case Former was literally open wolfing because I would feel like a fucking dumbass later on.

I think I did consider Former/Tommy as a potentially TvS interaction, but I don't think I ever said I was super confident and tried to convince others to go with me on it and I dropped the idea after my reread because I felt like there was something wrong with the answer I had with scum!Tommy. You're kind of right but the context is different tbh because when someone says "if X is town we're just fucked", when town is already scrambling it's appealing to just agree with someone who appears to know what they're talking about bc having direction is a lot nicer than feeling lost.

I know there's more to respond to but I assume I'm super behind on posts atm so uh gimme a min

Tho on second thought it’d be really bad for maf Caff to sit on the guy pushing his bud all day so prob not

Maybe if Caff flips town we can be more sus of bgb but even then I’m not sure cos I was sus of bgb too and kinda changed my mind
