Good morning gamers, it's been a great PL now get ready for some Charm Weirdness. I don't think any of this is especially good but some of it is underrated, if that makes sense. Also it's my civic duty to contribute to the gen8 hellscape where every mon can beat every other mon so have some insane lures.

Diancie is actually so good just for having a typing that matches up well against regidrago+togekiss+pz+fires and then having the customizability to snag all sorts of matchups alongside it. This was a set I was a big fan of in PL, luring garchomp/gdarm/rhyperior with air balloon and fairy typing that gives dragon immunity / fighting neutrality. Rock Tomb/Trick Room + Encore does usual speed trapping stuff that helps vs stuff like cresselia, and Earth Power + Clear Body gives a koko matchup that's not afraid of eerie impulse (though you still need to win a 50/50 vs cm roost). You can even beat non-Iron Tail landoT by encoring their t1 knock off/smack down and then 3hkoing them with a surprisingly hard-hitting stab move (clear body = no intim drop) that probably gives you the defense boost to live an EQ even if it doesn't quite get the roll. Evs to tank band rhyp rock wrecker, rest in spa.
Also if you're gonna use specs diancie please reduce speed to tank custap ferro's gyro ball.

I don't really know what motivated me here, actually that's I lie, I do know, and it was beating dracovish/volcanion/whimsicott/spectrier with a slot that really needed a ground type. Taunt + Counter has some fun interactions but this is not very good. Tanks adaband haxorus and an itemless volcanion that fsr clicked overheat, rest in attack, this means you can just go knock + earthquake into volc and not worry about anything but burns (or nascar sets).

I'm a known shuca berry heatran propagandist (the stuff balloon beats is all individual sets of bad matchups while this actually beats rilla reliably) and this is more of that, anyway this beats scarf cress by spamming dark pulse and stall cress with metal sound into the same (misses might screw w this). Idk the point of the EVs so innovate those.

Spd urshifu is unexplored territory in general, helping against specs magnezone, moonblast cresselia and ninetales without having to give up the utility of bulk up, and by using black glasses you retain enough power to beat stuff like chople kyurem and custap/haban regidrago (!). Spread tanks a 252 spa draco meteor from regidrago on all but a max roll, outspeeds corv, rest in attack for the 2hko against 252 def drago.

I know anything can run lum+knock and call itself a spectrier answer, but spectrier+fairy+steel is easy mode building and it's nice to be able to break that. EVs live two shadow balls from specstrier after the knock, rest in physical bulk for body press damage, 1 IV to beat other ferros.

Dracovish @ Custap Berry
Ability: Strong Jaw

I warmed a lot to vish during this PL, and this is probably the set I used the most. Jolly custap rock tomb vish gains a ton of reliability against opposing custap mons, ranging from gzap to sawk to magnezone, and can additionally outspeed and kill mons like protect zapdos and non-LO spectrier after a single tomb. Actually outspeeding entei or stall zapdos after a rock tomb, unlike the current custap set, is neat as well. The lost bulk means regieleki now always wins by clicking thunder cage, but beating two very relevant electrics in turn more than makes up for it. EVs make band gzap a 6.3% roll and survive 2 rounds of burn + default spread sitrus spectrier hex so you can tomb->rend->rend that.

Tapu Fini @ Weakness Policy

Not really a set, just me complaining, but why did the compendium WP fini stop running stored power? It massively helped vs stall azu. Anyway here's a maxmax fini set that tanks modspecs naga, ran it with telepathy to scare NP nagas and venus into clicking their poison attacks instead of the move that wins.

Apparently mish was warned I might bring this going into finals so at least I'm establishing the brand. Pretty simple koko, does koko things while luring garchomp, landoI, modest naganadel, and band gdarm, and the raw spa is actually high enough to 3hko trick cresselia. Endure also allows for a lot of antics versus custap mons, crustle, pz, aggron, and disablepult. Grass Knot can be used to lure rhyp but doesn't do much else.

Lures koko by tanking anything up to default LO tbolt and killing with a +2 surging strikes that ignores the seed boost. Slapped on endure and pjab to end up with an alright matchup against prim and sylveon and the like. Beats custap zone, and has a good matchup into things like psychic scarfcress, gmolt, certain lele, kyurem, even LO zapdos if they click what they are 'supposed' to click into an unknown ursh-rapid. I know I'm hardly the first person to slap a WP on a shifu but I do think this deserves to get mentioned.
Assorted optimizations that don't get a whole set but are worth mentioning anyway:
-Foul Play on tyranitar can help against WP outrage dragapults that would ordinarily win the matchup, but it doesn't do much else and you can't really afford to drop crunch so you're running two dark moves.
-Specs kyurem actually beats pp stall entei with hyper voice (252+ SpA Choice Specs Kyurem Hyper Voice vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Entei: 205-242 (55.2 - 65.2%), the move does nothing in any other matchup and is not really useful enough to warrant running over the other 4th move slot options. Call it a way to pressure entei/prim cores.
-The goodra set I used in finals was actually band, with power whip serving to beat problematic prim/azu/rhyp sets, bulldoze for entei, iron tail for seed lele, outrage to surprise kill spectriers that went for CM. A bit less walled by sub than normal goodra, but outrage confusion means that those scenarios are still pretty bad.
-Another specs kyurem I ran carried rock tomb, to beat volcarona and nothing else.
-Trace p2 is genuinely a mon with potential: while the core matchup gained is aromatisse (not insignificant of course), you also improve odds vs trick togekiss (20% freeze ice beam annihilates its odds of stalling you out), zeraora (pfist immunity which also allows for safe hyper beaming), and certain garchomp/landoT/dragapult sets. I also half-considered a conversion PZ to beat regidrago.
-I brought a WP prim that's basically just WP fini but with enough spa to kill volcanion without being forced to run CM, can also run aqua jet or encore as fourth moves if those happen to cover matchups you need.
-Toxic crustle beats charm chansey and stall azumarill.
-Poison Jab crustle actually beats bulu, which seems worth it in the same way that running heavy slam for just aroma is worth it.
