Porygon-Z @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 4 HP / 64 Def / 252 SpA / 188 Spe
Modest Nature
- Hyper Beam
- Reflect
- Recover
- Nasty Plot

Steel-types such as Metagross, Steelix, and Aggron are usually great checks to Porygon-Z in 1v1, but a slight mix-up can turn the tables! After setting Reflect, Porygon-Z chips them down with the Rocky Helmet while stalling with Recover until they're in range of Hyper Beam. With the EV spread provided, Porygon-Z can tank Aggron's Heavy Slams with Reflect and Recover until it's in Hyper Beam range, and it outspeeds non-Choice Scarf Metagross. Nasty Plot maintains many of Porygon-Z's core winning matchups, such as non-Choice Scarf Tapu Fini, non-Substitute Celesteela, and Tapu Lele. Consider running Rocky Helmet Porygon-Z with a Fairy-type like Aromatisse or Sylveon, as they defeat many Pokemon that Porygon-Z does not, such as both Urshifu formes, Dragapult, Spectrier, and Zeraora.

Steel type Pokémon are usually great checks to Porygon-Z in 1v1, since they resist Hyper Beam and take little damage from Porygon-Z's coverage. However, with a slight mix-up, Porygon-Z can lure many physical Steel-types, such as Metagross, Steelix, and Aggron! Steel-types such as Metagross, Steelix, and Aggron are usually great checks to Porygon-Z in 1v1, but a slight mix-up can turn the tables! After setting Reflect, Porygon-Z chips them down with the Rocky Helmet while using Recover to nullify the damage until they are stalling with Recover until they're in range of Hyper Beam. With the EV spread provided, Porygon-Z lives 3 Heavy Slams from Aggron through Reflect with Recover. Porygon-Z outspeeds non-Choice Scarf Metagross, and has maximum Special Attack. Porygon-Z can tank Aggron's Heavy Slams with Reflect and Recover until it's in Hyper Beam range, and it outspeeds non-Choice Scarf Metagross. (the previous wording about aggron was unclear. if what i wrote isn't right or ideal, pls be more specific. we can talk if needed) Nasty Plot secures important matchups for Porygon-Z, maintains many of Porygon-Z's core winning matchups, such as non-Choice Scarf Tapu Fini, non-Substitute Celesteela, and Tapu Lele, allowing Porygon-Z to maintain many of its core matchups. If you want to try Rocky Helmet Porygon-Z out for yourself, consider running it Lele. Consider running Rocky Helmet Porygon-Z with a Fairy-type like Aromatisse or Sylveon, as they defeat many Pokemon that Porygon-Z does not, such as both Urshifu formes, Dragapult, Spectrier, (AC) and Zeraora.
