Schurrle is doing a Robben.

Reus...what an intelligent player. To this day I curse Wenger for not going in for him. Dortmund got as good a replacement as they could have for Kagawa, and at a bargain bin price too.

Reus > Kagawa imo, from what ive seen in the Bundes at least.

If Germany score another one im gonna be creeped out. The FIFA 12 simulation I made predicted a 3-1 with a Khedira goal too.

LOL SPOKE TOO SOON, FUCKIN FIFA 12 IF THIS STAYS LIKE THIS.

and spoke too soon once more, germany too strongth for fifa 12 to measure it

Yeah I've never been a fan of Boateng and he was at fault for both goals..I would put Bender over him in the next game tbh

not impressed by Germany, their defense was really lacking against a pitiful Greece

deserved win obviously, but it was Greece after all

shinji kagawa with his new kitchen towel!

I had completely forgotten about Utd's new shirt. Man that is hideous, what were they thinking? And I thought Arsenal's new one was a bit iffy. On the other hand Liverpool's one actually looks pretty decent.

it's not the third kit...

thank god

i think it's this one

an @rey: i wouldn't ''kill'' to have him but i would definitely take him. he's a quality player and wasn't just bought in for shirt sales like some people think.

You wouldnt just take him. He has proven he has what it takes, he is a top midfielder in the world that any single team, including the very best, would love to have.

Predicting a France win by 2 tomorrow. Benz to finally score a rocket.

If any team can beat Spain, its France. Their style matches up well versus Spain's. And if France are smart, they will let Giroud have time because he is the man that will hit Spain right where it hurts them the most, cross + aerial threat. Ribery and even Ben Arfa if he starts and steps his game up, or Nasri if they decide to play him in the wing, all have the sheer speed and first touch needed to put the ball right in the head of a 6'4 striker. Barcelona have shown that is the way to beat them, and Madrid arent too much better in that zone. So logic tells you that if Giroud comes in theres a hiiiiigh chance of a goal.

Speaking of him, he has confirmed the Arsenal transfer. Damn, Arsenal actually look p scary right now lol.

If RVP stays imagine a:

Giroud
Podolski - RVP - Walcott / Gervinho
Song - Wilshere / Arteta / Rosicky / whoever the hell
Gibbs - Vermaelen - Koscielny - Sagna
Sczcesny

If they manage to sign someone safer than Gibbs, and somehow get Vertonghen to reinforce depth, we may be seeing a title contending team. The only problem might be how they play together. There would be a big amount of newcomers and new faces around and ability to play the game =/= ability to fit in.

The middle of the park is where Wenger has some serious depth. First choice probably has to be Wilshere, Song and Arteta but there's Rosicky, Ramsey, Diaby, Coquelin and Frimpong who are all available in that position. Then there's a few from the reserves who are looking promising too like Ozyakup and Eisfeld who was signed last January. Not even mentioning the likes of Lansbury and Eastmond who seem to be perrenially out on loan. And Wenger wants to sign M'Vila! Sometimes I just don't get it.

I think Wenger will keep with Gibbs and Santos; Gibbs is an ongoing project and it feels like Wenger is determined to see them succeed (much like Van Persie, Fabregas, Toure, Clichy... Bendtner, Djourou etc). Arsenal could really do with some backup in the fullback area but Wenger probably feels he has enough and has a fetish for young midfielders anyway. I really feel like the right back is the weakest area because we have Sagna (who is class)... and then Jenkinson. But Wenger seems to trust him, again inexplicably to my eyes, but I trust Wenger enough that I remind myself not to think about that horrible deficiency too much.

So basically I'd like to see another right back signed and another top quality central defender to replace Djourou. But Wenger has a thing for his academy products so I have a feeling Djourou is staying put. The attack and midfield are looking very nice though if RVP stays.

Giroud would likely rotate with RVP and perhaps occasionally play with him. Don't really get why we're so eager to force all 3 of Podolski, Giroud, and RVP into the same team, because that jsut leaves us without any bench options again. Don't see why we shoudl move RVP to SS also. I mean, he's played there before and did fairly well, but why move him out of the position where he's played the best football of his career just to accomodate some newcomer?

Also don't want to see both Walcott and Podolski playing out wide at the same time. 2 speedy strikers with little creativity playing together is just asking to get bussed. Might work if we had world class creativity from midfield, but we don't have anybody close. Not even Wilshere. tbh if you ask me Podolski has no business playing as a winger in a possession based setup like ours. He's a threat on the counter when out wide, nothing else.

Think our defense is fine, we've got 3 pretty good CBs and the best right back in the league, and I trust Jenkinson more than most do (had a pretty decent run early on apart from 8-2). The main problem wasn't their quality, it's that there's too much of a gap between midfield and defense. Song's too eager to get forward these days thanks to his newfound penchant for Hollywood balls, and it leaves our defenders exposed into playing 1v1 against the opposition too much. Do it repeatedly, and individual errors are almost inevitable. The M'Vila interest is probably Wenger trying to fix that without sacrificing Song's offense, although tbh I think Song is at his best as a purely defensive midfielder that sits deep, instead of this box to box role he has right now. Oh and of course, whoever taught Gibbs and Santos basic defensive positioning should be fired right away. Can't count the number of times Vermaelen has to cover for them because they're 20 yards too far up.

But for now, assuming Podolski and Giroud are done, if we bring in M'Vila and a creative force (I'd like Belhanda) then we're cool I think.

THE FRANCE GREAT WALL

Lloris
Reveillere - Rami - Koscielny - Clichy
Cabaye - Mvila - Malouda
Debuchy --------------------------- Ribéry
------------- Benzéma-----------------

ugh

^ wtf am i looking at? what is blanc thinking with two right backs on the right flank. iirc, aston villa tried it against spurs to stop bale and it failed miserably because he kept coming inside. iniesta will DEFINITELY not stay wide.

doesn't look too good for france. their defence has been terrible thus far though their forward have decent synergy when attacking. too bad they won't have the ball.
