Yeah, the ref got in the way 2-3 times but we won't know how much that mattered. Yeah, the penalty was soft, but it was still a penalty. The penalty they got was as much of a penalty as the one United didn't get, but that's just a 50/50 thing that didn't go United's way.
In a way it was our own fault for an uncharacteristic lapse in concentration for about 15-20 minutes in the second half. The Da Silva twins now worry me, they seem really fragile. They hardly ever last 90 minutes it seems, Valencia works hard at right back but we'd obviously rather not see him there.
I was impressed with Basel's forwards though, they caused a lot of problems for the United defence. The game was very open and for some reason we didn't control the midfield like I thought we would have. Perhaps Fletcher should have played but who knows?
Basel deserved a draw for the way they played, but United really shouldn't have slipped up there, no matter which players were missing. Have to play the strongest side now and win 3/4 remaining games IMO. Probably going to have to win all the remaining games to finish first depending on other results.
