no he is staying for the club, he said when he started he wanted to knock liverpool off thier perch, that means winning the champions league 3 more times
We won't do that in Fergie's time, but his plan is to leave a young squad that will still challenge on all fronts, for whoever his successor is. To say Fergie is in it for the money is a ridiculous statement though. He'll be here for another 3-4 years dependant on his health. But he still looks in fine condition for a man of such an age, so I'm hopeful he'll be here a while yet.
Also, agree with akuchi! International breaks do my head in sometimes, and while I'm glad to see this one over, I wasn't as disappointed as I usually am. Some of the United players needed a rest and players like Vidic, Cleverley, and Smalling will have had time to recover from injury. I hope they're all ready for Liverpool, though I only see Vidic actually starting.
I heard that Evra got crocked though, and Young even had to come off. I hope they're both fit since our left side has been brilliant when those two have played together. If they both miss Liverpool, I'll be quite worried. It'll likely mean Evans at left back - but at least we'd have a few options on the left side of the attack. Also, Fletcher is ill again so it's possible he won't make it (I was hoping he'd start at Anfield, but he always seems to get injured / ill just before we face them there)... A lot of United fans seem to be gunning for Welbeck to start at Anfield on Saturday, but the last three times we started 442 there we got beat (3-1, 2-0, 2-1). Might be different this time, but I'd rather see a 433:
de Gea
Jones Ferdinand Vidic Evra
Fletcher Carrick Anderson
Nani Rooney Young
I think I'd go with that if everyone is fit. But we could end up seeing Smalling, Evans, Giggs, Park, Valencia, Welbeck, or Hernández having to start instead if our injury problems are at their worst still (not a bad set of back-up players, though)!
