fuck off blatter. as soon as england actually benefit for once from not having goal-line technology he says that it's a 'necessity'.

when chelsea won by penalties in the cl final, platini wanted to use another to settle matches.

the guys at the top can't help it when they see the english teams dominating. absolute clowns with their fines too (bendtner and manchester city's 1 minute late arrival to the second half of a match saw them get fined more than racism fines).

Czech Republic vs Portugal (The Czech just don't have enough fire power to get past Alves and Pepe imo)

Germany vs Greece (Greece barely qualified from their group despite the fact that it was nowhere near as hard as Germany's.I believe I have justified my prediction)

Spain vs France (France's midfield is nothing compared to that of Spain and Torres is looking good too)

England vs Italy (The trickiest to predict but my gut tells me Italy will scrape a goal past the British bus)

portugal
germany
spain
tossup

I have no idea how czechs got out of the group, and as much as portugal don't deserve to make the semi's, they will.

germany is a given, greece will just be outclassed, simple as, no chance of a 2004 repeat

france will have had their confidence dented by the loss to sweden, and spain will be looking to crank it up a notch

last match I really don't know how it will go, england can defend very well, or they can be sloppy, it really depends on what theyre feeling on the day, italy will be a tough test, and are a much more solid side than 2 years ago, this could go either way imo

By the way, am I the only one who thinks that the Spain coach is crazy for benching Fabregas? Fabregas could easily replace Xabi Alonso and just perform better.

Fabregas operates in a more offensive role than that of Xabi's.The only person in that midfield he could replace is Xavi and even then I'd rather start with Xavi and then bring Fabregas on later in the game when he's tired.

So I was extremely damn bored and I decided to see what FIFA 12 had to say regarding the knockout matches. Editted the squads to perfectly replicate the ones in the tournament and simulated the games to see who the PC thinks would win.

Events:

Minute 29: Germany scores. Corner kick goes straight to Hummels' head, who heads the ball and hits the left corner, leaving Khedira completely unmarked and in-front of the goal, with a beaten Sifakis on the other side. (1-0 - Scorer: Khedira, Assist: Hummels)

Minute 37: Greece scores. Run down the left flank by Karagounis, who passes the ball to Gekas. Gekas does a body feint, leaving Badstuber behind and leaving himself one on one with Neuer, who cant do anything. (1-1 - Scorer: Gekas, Assist: Karagounis)

Minute 45: Karagounis booked for a slide on Ozil.

Minute 52: Germany scores. Podolski switches sides and drops the ball to an unmarked Ozil, who proceeds to pass the ball to Gomez, the latter who shoots from the penalty spot inbetween 2 defenders, beating Sifakis. (2-1 - Scorer: Gomez, Assist: Ozil)

Minute 71: Khedira out - Bender in, Maniatis out - Makos in.

Minute 77: Karagounis out - Ninis in.

Minute 80: Germany scores. Similar play as the last one, this time by Muller, who gives the ball perfectly to Gomez, who then shoots from the border of the box, hitting the opposite post with the ball then going in. (3-1 - Scorer: Gomez, Assist: Muller)

Man of the Match: Mario Gomez

god you can tell im bored... lets see how right this thing was. hopefully wrong because my whole defense is german lol

Also I just realized Karagounis is suspended... smh im dumb, shall repeat it tomorrow without him, then

Is it just me or did it seem like everytime Meireles was passed the ball he instantly gave it away or wasted it? His crossing wasn't very good either and his shooting was even worse.

Ronaldo was unreal, everything else was just a prelude to Ronaldo, he was the team. Portugal never looked like doing anything until Ronaldo gets on the ball, and he was excellent - couldn't really have asked much more of him.

The Czechs looked good in spells, obviously I was secretly hoping the underdogs would pull a surprise but Portugal played much better overall and deserved the win. I can't wait to see Spain vs France and BOSScielny gonna own Spain!

I was really hoping Czech would take the win, but perhaps that was a bit too much to hope for. They held themselves quite well against a rather decent Portugal. The first half was pretty damn boring, but the match started to come alive in the second half when Portugal started getting more chances at goal.

Ronaldo has hit form, they're going to need him to play like that and probably convert two or three chances to beat Spain, though (assuming Spain get through which I think they will). Germany I reckon will go through convincingly tonight, by three or more goals.

England vs Italy is the knife edge game. Fancy England at the moment though depending on the formation chosen, I just hope Milner doesn't start, or if he has to, maybe put him in the middle and bench Welbeck (although I'd be less inclined to do this than just start Ox or Walcott).

Interesting lineup by Germany; Klose, Schurrle, and Reus replacing Gomez, Podolski, and Muller. I don't blame Low for changing up Podolski and Muller, they were pretty poor in my opinion (despite Podolski's goal against Denmark), but I find it a bit arrogant to put Klose over Gomez.

Löw probably wants Gomez, Podolski and Muller to be fit for the semi-finals, and even a German b-grade team should be able to beat Greece. At least, that's what Löw seems to think. I'm expecting a 2-0, since Germany doesn't play with their full base-team.

I would like to say with Ronaldo its yet again just a case of him bullying small teams(poor holland team, czechs) as he wasn't that good against Germany. Unfortunately the greasy prick is good enough to prove me wrong i can see his pace causing Spain all types of problems.

fuck you low, first time i get gomez for fantasy and you bench him. just fuck you man.

reus is great though hopefully he proves his worth. was also wishing to see gotze over schurrle but oh well

Schurrle is doing a Robben.

Reus...what an intelligent player. To this day I curse Wenger for not going in for him. Dortmund got as good a replacement as they could have for Kagawa, and at a bargain bin price too.
