2012/2013 Soccer/Football thread

shades of last season's home matches. luck just wasn't going our way.

just gonna say that liverpool have assembled a nice little squad that will only improve with time. west brom on the other hand, epitomize everything that is wrong with british football. they parked the bus and would constantly make cynical fouls.

edit: two more points:
-glad the penalty didn't go in because suarez dived. the consequences would have been disastrous.
-worst display at right back i've seen in my life from glen johnson. i hope i never get to see another horror show like this. odd because he's been very reliable this season in attack and defence.

the double game week.... the one time i need liverpool to not suck (apart from matches against city and chelsea obviously)
great....

I definitely wouldn't say Liverpool are shit. Their style of play is enticing and creates plenty of chances that unfortunately today they were not able to finish. Every team, even Barcelona, has games like this. Will Liverpool finish in the top 6? Probably not, I think it's too far out of reach, but they are an ever-improving team at the moment, so I just hope for the sake of Liverpool fans that Rodgers does not get sacked.

well i set my fantasy captain to michu last week.
success \o/ was hoping liverpool would get me some points here

considering i work in a bookies it'd be pretty impossible for me not to watch football.. and if you don't get how it's been 'just one of those days, we played well but our shots went awry' for two seasons now (seriously, that was wheeled out every fucking week last season) then I guess you don't pay too much attention to your club; every time you thump someone 'its finally all starting to come together' and every time you lose 'i dont know what happened it just wasnt our day'.. brendan going on about 'up until now we'd been on a great run'.. yeah. this was touted last time Dubby, it just wasn't a 'project' or a 'philosophy' like it is now but every time they just went on about what shit uninspiring football theyd been playing under Roy and how Dalglish had made things better, they were just profligate in front of goal.. but don't worry pool fans, next year could be your year!

it's the first time this season that we've said that this season. Dubby is spot on. we've actually been pretty lucky in most of our matches.

and yes it was wheeled out every week last season because that's how it was. hence why i precisely said "shades of last season". we missed a penalty, had more than 10 goal scoring opportunities, foster had a great game in goal and they nicked it at the end with 2 goals from a set-piece and a counter attack.

The key is to score early or it might get complicated. They will try to counter attack us to death and wait for us to make mistakes. I just hope Sturridge is fit.

more looking forward to next week to be honest, while it'd be fkn lovely to beat rodgers (again) LEAGUE CUP LEAGUE CUP LEAGUE CUP

basically slate me as much as you want if we lose this weekend and thats fine but if we lose to bradford im actually going to be devastated

IMO, the Man utd team should be:

-------------------De Gea

--Rafael----Vidic------------Ferdinand---Evra

--Valencia---Jones-------Carrick---Cleverley
------------------Rooney

------------------RVP

edit: ferguson with a horrible team selection. i hope they get embarassed now.

Ramos is lucky the ref didnt see his elbow on jones, sure looked intentional, and at the least that would have excluded him from the second leg...
