Howard Webb showing why he is an awful referee.
For me, there are several reasons as to why we lost today:
1) The difference in quality of the back-up goalkeepers. Fabianski >> Brad Jones. Without Fabianski, I'm sure this would have been another 5-0, his saves were out of this world. He won all his one on ones vs Sturridge and produced a world class save to deny Suarez in the first minute of the second half.
On the other hand, both of Arsenal's goals should have been saved. Both were more or less in the middle of the goal and Jones showed why he is a league one standard goalkeeper.
2) Sturridge and Suarez lacking the killer instinct they are known to have. We had so many chances to score but our finishing was not good enough and Fabianski was excellent.
3) Howard Webb. Stone-wall penalty denied when Oxlade-Chamberlain fouled Suarez. I also agree that he should have sent off Gerrard but disagree with those saying that he ''evened things up''. A penalty award would have changed everything and we would have gone on to win for sure.
Overall, we were unlucky to not win but I'd rather lose this match than a premier league match. We outplayed them once again but came out with nothing.
Arsenal were very good on the counter attack and would have gotten more goals if they didn't have the french Carlton Cole up-front.

a penalty = 90% a goal (make that 99% with steven), ofc you will whine if you don't get awarded one when you deserve it. there's nothing desperate about it, especially the one yesterday. The daily mail has 5-6 articles about the penalty incident criticizing webb. it was scandalous. his angle wasn't the best and suarez's theatrics didn't help too but still shocking from the so called best referee who has screwed us over and over again.
sturridge was shit in front of goal and was more responsible for the result yesterday but i don't want to blame him because i kinda like him. let's just say howard webb isn't my favourite person in the world.

are you serious? a foul in the box is a penalty, a penalty is usually a goal. who gives a fuck how honourable it is.
