2019-20 NBA Season

Lakers comfortably sweep the Dallas/OKC road back to back missing AD for the first game and AD, Bron, and Green for the second.

We're 39 games into the season, have we played any tough opponents yet?
@ me when you play one of the clippers / bucks / raptors. oh wait

What's the easiest mark of a good team? Beating up on bad opponents. Lakers are undefeated against teams under .500 (at the time of the matchup) besides quality wins over winning teams like the Heat, Nuggets, Mavs and Jazz.

What I dont understand is why everyone seems to be giving the Blazers a pass. They're eight games under even, eight! I could have listed them as a quality win but I dont consider them a quality team unlike 99% of the media and fans.

Also fuck off spurs, you hot garbage, time to trade Aldridge and DeRozen and tebuild

lol, but make that 8-4 with only Leonard after the loss vs Denver

anyone else liking the grizzlies this season? thought they'd be bottom 10 but ja and ghe supporting cast (dillon brooks and jv in particular) have been killing it. definitely a team to watch

Definitely surprised by the Grizz and OKC holding the 8th and 7th spots currently. Curious to see if they'll be buyers or sellers at the deadline, and whether or not they want to hold onto the playoff spot or drop into the lottery tbh.

I blame you for the Orlando loss
Fair enough, though I havent been able to figure out why Orlando is always such a pain in our ass. Certain east teams over the years just always muck up the Lakers even if they're a generally bad team. During Kobe-Pau years it was the Bobcats and that sonofabitch Henderson. Recently it's been the Magic. They swept the series last season I believe

lakers fans: it doesn't matter that we're only beating teams below .500, certainly that success will translate when facing playoff contenders.
>lets the quadfecta get 20 each, lets kanter get a double-double, and loses by >30 to the kinda overrated celtics.

also good to see that the race for 2nd seed in tbe east is still alive and well, though I still think it's a dead heat between the raptors, and, well, the heat. the raptors did cut it a little too close for my liking today (although I blame the refs giving trae something like 20 trips to the line, also bad 3-pt shooting but that happens) but still wins are wins and norman powell continuing his insane scoring streak is fun. lowkey I think norm could make a dark horse mip pick, even considering the competition he's made jumps across the board, has made the best case to be the closer that the team needs after losing kawhi and he's averaging 16 ppg despite not even having a guaranteed starting spot! jesus the raptors truly are the team of the future.

Classic trap game where we went 4-1 without one of our stars, going into a game vs a team that had just lost 3 in a row. Good to see we're still employing the "lose to them twice in the regular season and beat them in the Finals" tactic we used vs the Magic in 2009-10. But hey our lead in the loss column is still 4 after missing Davis for 5 games lmao.

"lose to them twice in the regular season and beat them in the Finals"

wait do you really think boston is coming out of the east lmfao, or is this just lakers exceptionalism trying to spin the bucks blowout and the home loss to a banged up raptors team (to say nothing of the beatdown that they took today or the fact that kawhi owns lebron's soul) into something more palatable than 'yeah sorry we can't win against teams that are actually gunning for a championship'. jc

lmfao do you really think I'm being serious with that?

I havent watched the whole game, only caught portions of the first half. Either our perimeter defense went to absolute shit, or the C's caught fire from the arc. Tatum has been streaky this season but had one of his best games this season tonight.

But tbh I'm more concerned about getting wins over playoff teams in the west, because that's who the Lakers will have to match up against en route to the Finals.

East All Star Starters: Kemba Walker, Trae Young, Giannis Antetokounmpo (captain), Pascal Siakam, Joel Embiid

West All Star Starters: Luka Doncic, James Harden, Kawhi Leonard, LeBron James (captain), Anthony Davis

I need Bron and Giannis to keep Luka and Trae on opposite teams.

Rip to the great Kobe Bryant.. He was no doubt, an huge inspiration to me. As a kid, I always thought I had severe limitation for what I can do physically (As I always had problems injuring ankles and knees as a kid). However my uncle wanted me to watch game 3 of NBA 2010 finals with him. At the moment of time, I had no real interest in basketball. Not only did I grew a unique interest in basketball as a whole, but he inspired me to better myself and helped me get into relatively good shape. Knowing that maybe one day, I'll be able to play like the Black Mamba at some point of my life in the big stage. (Which never happened, but boy did I had some good moments because of that motivation lol)

I just realized that his 13 year old daughter also died as well.. Rip Gianna.. May Vanessa Bryant and her family find peace from such an awful tragedy.

I'm in absolute fucking shock.

Rip to my #1 childhood hero Kobe Bryant and to his 13 year old daughter Gianna. Kobe was the biggest reason that I became a Lakers fan and more importantly, one of the biggest reasons why I became a lifelong basketball fan.

Love you forever Mamba.

Fuck. There's no easy way to say this. I'm not a Lakers fan but Kobe was one of my favorite players as a kid. Him, LeBron, DWade, Duncan, KG, Ray etc were all important to my childhood. Just one day after LeBron passes him in career points, he's gone from this world. It's hard to believe. Prayers up for Vanessa as she lost her husband and 13 year old daughter at the same time. May he rest in peace
