Wow, a legendary Pokémon! This is my first time seeing one in battle. I guess legendaries aren't immune to some good ol' trickery, however. While Cobalion does manage to lay Stealth Rock on its opponents side of the field, Gardevoir liked that so much that it wanted to see Cobalion do it again. Cobalion obliged, but these arenas have a hard cap of how many sharp rocks you can lay at your opponents feet and promptly rejected these new ones. Gardevoir took the chance to burn Cobalion, and then began waiting patiently for its response. Well Cobalion wasn't too fond of being set on fire, so it went to restore itself. Its attempts were in vain though, as Gardevoir swooped in and took Cobalion's Iron Defense for itself. To make matters worse for Cobalion, it didn't get any value out of its Focus Sash.

When you think of the ParaFlinch strategy, something like Togekiss may come to mind before Cobalion does. I doubt this particular case was even intentional, as I imagine Bounce was ordered for its evasive properties first and foremost. At least Gardevoir's Synchronize comes in handy, rendering Cobalion paralyzed as well. Unfortunately, Cobalion was able to act through its paralysis while Gardevoir got flinched and then was stuck fully paralyzed. Also, why does Cobalion learn Bounce?

Gardevoir finally goes down, and it took a little help from all three of nightblitz's Pokemon to score the KO. Gardevoir did attempt to brace for the impact, but Lopunny told it to do it again, and it was just too tired, so it struggled instead. Note: I think recoil applies before Shell Bell's healing, but in the case that it doesn't, Shell Bell only heals 1 HP, meaning 2 recoil damage is enough to knock Gardevoir out regardless.
