5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

Just to confirm, I successfully C-Gear RNG'd on a US version Pokemon White using a US version DSi XL. Using ZomgTimer I tweaked the calibration to -43 and was able to RNG a Victini.

My recommendation is to use C-Gear delays over 1500, since it takes a god awful long time for the game to load to enable you to actually turn on C-Gear.

thats cool, but im confused, it seems to me you did not need your ds parameters found out as it seems ds parameters are only for non- cgear, and us parameters can not be found out yet, is this so?

As far as I know, this is correct, you need your DS parameters for Non C-Gear RNG Abuse. Hence why I used C-Gear, since it's basically identical to 4th Gen RNGing.

Yes. C-gear seeds can be done without parameters. All you need is your mac address. Non C-gear won't be possible until the new RNG reporter is out probably next Sunday.

Yes and no. They're as easy to RNG abuse as any other stationary Legendary. However verifying you hit your IV spread is a pain in the ass if you fight them in N's Castle and not Dragonspiral Tower. Immediately after you catch them in N's Castle, you are forced into a plot fight.

Take as few Pokémon as possible and lose on purpose :o

Calibrate on something easier to catch first, using Seed to Time to compare your IVs with those of nearby seeds. Then you can use those calibrations and go after Tornadus.

Woo thanks dude, that's exactly what I'll try to do. Will be part of my proper team unless I make any significant changes, so it's kind of really important to get this as well.

So it sounds like RNG is possible now, just not totally figured out. Am I right in thinking I can test it on Victini now?

You shouldn't have too many difficulties with Victini if you use the C-Gear, other than the initial calibration.

Thanks, was going to try for perfect anyway. If I don't need my SID for it's IVs then I can wait til I reach the GTS for my SID. Is there a pokesav for black and white yet, so I can check that?

Decimal to Hex converter. Windows calculator does it.

Possible, yes. Difficult, yes. I'm not sure you'll have access to non-cgear since a code is usually used for finding some of the parameters and cgear abuse requires finding IVs. It's going to be hard, but it can be done.

If you have a way of checking IVs, yes.
Can´t be IVs checked with the stat calculator?
And another queation:
Is there any connection between being able to trade via wifi and RNG abuse in the 5th generation?
I can´t trade with the nintendo wfc, the signal light is always red/off. But if I open the C gear, it has the full power. I could also check and write down my Mac adress. So is it now possible for me to breed/catch perfect Pokemon even if I can´t trade via wfc?

There are such programs although I don't think they're supposed to be discussed in an open forum.

Stat calculator will work, but they were referring to early in the game when you don't get precise IVs.

There is no connection with not being able to connect. If you're somewhere that blocks ports, this would make sense. I had a similar problem in 4th gen with that.

The way I checked my Victini's IVs is used a stat calculator to calculate Shaymin's stats at lvl 15 with the IVs I want (Shaymin and Victini have the same base stats). And I got the exact result when I succeeded in RNGing Victini.

Where is that stat calculator?

Serebii.net also has a comprehensive IV calculator, and it supports input of multiple levels, to help you narrow down the list of possibilities. Very helpful when you're trying to calibrate.

Hey, I got white version and I saved right in front of Zekrom. I'm trying to RNG it, can someone give me like an ENTIRE general procedure for doing this? BTW, I'm kinda a noob, but I know how to RNG (for gen4), eggs, shininess, stationary legendary. So could someone list for me the differences that I should be aware of between gen4 and gen5 (please do not refer me to the first page :/ ) stuff like
1) how do i pick a spread with the time finder? (there is like non-c-gear and c-gear et cetera).
2) I got my game in north america. should i pay attention to the "version" in the bottom right corner for the time finder?
3) does zekrom use method 5 (again, if so, which method 5 do i use? - still refering to the new time finder)
4) how do i advance frames in this gen?
5) how does the roaming pokemon check box affect the frame/spreads? (i did not catch the tornado guy)
6) how do the delays work in this generation?

again, i'm kinda a noob and don't really understand most of the stuff on page 1

thanks!

http://www.smogon.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3305556&postcount=9 Try this for now. (there is a short guide at the bottom)
1) Have the Time Finder set to C-gear, and make sure you have your mac address. Basically you then put in your desired Ivs,delay range, etc like normal.
2) No. That only matters for non c-gear (which you can't do right now)
3) It's method 5 c-gear. Then for PID you use method 5 natures theoretical on the main page.
4) IVs-Battling (hard to do, I wouldn't), walking 128 steps advances the IV frame by the amount of pokemon in your party, and moving pokemon in the PC advances by 7 (best for breeding).
PID- NPCs(random), saving advances PID by 1, walking in areas where you can run into pokemon advances something like 2,4,6 and is also random, and weather. (I think that's it...)
6) delays can alternate from odd to even, so you can hit either.

Hope this helped. :) Someone else will have to answer the roamer question...
