5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

First "successfull" 5th Gen abuse, just about 1h after I started trying.

It's not totally successfull, because I couldn't get the exact pokemon I wanted. Instead of a Petilil, I got a Sewaddle... modest.

But the IVs and the nature were right. So, I know I can do it. Thanks to all of you who worked on the guide, on the RNG Reporter, and those who patiently answered each and every question here.

You guys rock.

I have a question about Calibration for C-Gear seeds: Do you have to calibrate every time you want to RNG, or just once? And, how many times should you catch a pokemon/check its IVs when you calibrate?

Explain exactly what you're trying to do. Calibration is not done as it was in Gen IV. It is instead done by trying to hit your seed.

I'm not trying to do anything atm, I just would like to know ahead of time, because I'd like to RNG Zekrom :]

Yes, I know that, that's why I'm asking if you have to calibrate every time or just once.

Can you use a seed with a delay of 765 for C-Gear seeds? Thanks! :)

Umm... well, from what I've heard, C-Gear seeds are much easier to hit with a higher delay (Something like 1500+). It's probably going to be way to hard to hit a delay of 765, since it's so low and it will take a while to get into the game. If I'm wrong, someone please correct me :]

Check its Hidden Power in the Mistralton City Pokémon center. Should narrow it down a lot at the very least.

This is seriously one of the best tips so far. I was getting frustrated with the Check IVs feature saying IVs don't match and this tip showed that I very nearly hit my delay. Thanks! Zekrom...will be mine!

With a delay of 1500, you'll have about 1-2 seconds (depending on your calibration) after the game starts to open your C-Gear and get ready to hit Yes. 765 will barely get you to the title screen.

Edit: regarding the Hidden Power guy, since I've answered that question about six times now, maybe a note should be made about it in the OP or something?

the rng reporter seed to times keeps telling me there are no matches for the iv's i put in it,does that mean am not even close to my delay

Ahh ok. Cause occasionally while walking steps I'll run into a shaking area and it completely messes everything up. Pisses me off.
Only way I can see around that is to watch the screen while you're doing it and not walk into them.

Either that or you didn't put in the correct IVs (always a possibility if you're doing it on something below level 100) or you advanced the frame.

No. OD answered this before on here, I don't remember how far back though. For now, just use the adjacents to look for IVs. If you're not within +/- 100 you're doing something pretty wrong.

no they are right am using the ar check code

first i tried with a frame of 5 then a frame of 3 cause i though if its 3 i did'nt need to advance anything

What do you have inputted for calibration? For me when I use an AR, I work with something in the -160's, but without it in the -50's.

Just try with a large search and see what you hit, and adjust. You HAVE to hit something. Unless you're setting the time and date wrong.

If you didn't make any mistakes, it's possible you were just way off somehow. Set the search range to something like +/- 999 and see if you still don't get anything.
