5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

Hi there.

I have 0 experience with wild pokemon CPs (Well, I do, but only with pokemon who appear 100% of the time), so I just would like to know how Encounter Slots work. I have the link to them, and I saw numbers next to the pokemon in parenthesis. Example: In the row for Desert Resort, it says "Sandile (19". Does that mean that on frame 19, a Sandile will appear?

Here is the encounter slot table I'm looking at. Thanks in advance.

Those encounter slots rely on the PIDRNG, which can't be predicted without knowing non-C-Gear seeds.

In the desert, the weather is always changing the PIDRNG anyway so it's all a crapshoot.

ok i have a question. if i download the new RNG reporter im guessing i click the link on the first page does it matter if i use english white? is the link ready to use? sorry if i seem stupid but iv never really RNGd that much.

Uh.. it's pretty much ready to use. For CGear, English is the same as Japanese, so you'll be fine.

Have you and the others made a Non-C gear guide yet?

And when the 5th gen rng help thread has the new RNG reporter 9, does that mean that reporter can help me and the others to rng abuse on the 5th gen at 100%?

I was wondering if the PIDRNG is accurate with the encounter slots. It's a coincidence that whenever I find a esv that matches for Rufflet, instead a Heatmor appears. It's been two days for me and all I've been getting is that thing.

Just a simple question how long does it usually take to RNG for catching a pokemon with good IV's? Since it seems like RNG abusing can take a lot of time to do throughout the day and I usually don't have time.

Honestly, it varies from person to person and also depends on how much preparation/practice you've done. It could take anywhere from a few minutes to an hour, to several days to catch the Pokemon you want.

It should get much better once the next RNG Reporter is released, though.

@Princess of Johto
Those numbers are encounter slot values. Each encounter slot (0-11) contains a range of encounter slot values. The slots themselves determine which pokemon you will encounter in a specific place. The sandile you mention will appear if the seed determines the ESV (encounter slot value) to be 19 (Slot 0).

Those encounter slots rely on the PIDRNG, which can't be predicted without knowing non-C-Gear seeds.

Ok, from that, I think I understand ESVs now :] I think I'll wait until the next RNG Reporter to worry about that ;) Thanks!

I would like a confirmation on Victory Road: Are the encounter slots wrong? I tested some out and it seems to be wrong. I'll test some more out.

Never mind, PIDRNG is listing them complete wrong. The old version seems to list them correctly. Damn... (goes to re-look a whole bunch of PIDs)

Alright so I have finally managed to hit my delay perfectly, but I found the nature to be modest on my Zekrom rather than what I want. My spread is on frame 3 and I've noticed I've been getting the same few natures even though I've RNGed about 100 times. Does this mean I need to do somethin else to get a different nature?

lol 100 times. Advance the PID RNG. Either by letting C-Gear on and wait a few seconds or saving. Wait/save more if the first time didn't get you the desired nature. Btw use synchronizers if you haven't done so.

How do you find your low frame shiny spreads in Black/White?

Well, so far, we can only do that for C-Gear seeds. Open up RNG Reporter 9 Beta 1 and click Time Finder. Go to the Capture tab and where it says "Method", choose Method 5 (C-Gear). Make sure you have entered your MAC address. Make sure you have the right year entered. Enter a Max Frame (So, if you want a low frame, enter a maximum. I use 40, even though that's a bit high, you'll find the best spreads that way). And a min. and max. delay. I suggest a min. of 1500, since that will be easiest to hit. Pick the IV spread you want and then press Generate :D It might take a while to generate, though.

Have you tried using a Synchronizer? If not then try advancing the PID RNG and hope to get lucky.

Edit: Ninja'd :P And, yeah, you're just going to have to hope for the best and get lucky :/

The problem is I am already in front of Zekrom and I don't think I can leave anymore.

Edit: found a timid Zekrom on the spread i want now ~.~ maybe I can still access a syncronizer, can anyone confirm?
