5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

Alright, I have a question, and I've looked everywhere, but can't seem to really figure it out:

I've done Standard non-C-gear for catching Stationary and wild Pokemon, and bred shinies, but I just can't seem to figure out catching Shiny Pokemon (wild or stationary). This is gonna sound really dumb, but I can't really figure out what sort of search to run. What are the best settings? Is there anything in particular I should do? What is the best IV frame range? PID frame range? What does the "all encounters shiny" in the Encounter Type drop-down mean? Should the IVs in the search be less than perfect (like in 4th gen, where perfect wild Shinies were completely unfeasible?)

Edit: Also, none of my searches ever return any results. And they get about 25% done and then quit. I'm honestly resorting to running searches of x/31/x/31/x/31 because nothing better returns ANY results. But a bunch of people here have gotten many flawless Shinies without abusing their SID. HOW?

For standard non-C-gear RNG Abuse, is the ability of the (wild) Pokemon established? Or can it change with additional saves akin to the ability?

Uhh.. You said ability twice there.. not sure what you were going for. The ability changes depending on your PIDRNG frame, yes. If that's what you were asking.

hey I'm trying to get into rng but, I don't use a normal cartidge so I'm having prolemes and was wondering if anyone could give me some advice so I can get into it or if they could rng for me in return for giving you egg move stuff, dw stuff, ect. for you to rng breed or even ev train pokemon for anyone willing to rng me stuff.

Can someone help me RNGing Bubble Spots? I already caught Exadrill with this method, but the Encounter Slots for Bubble Spots confuse me. Why are there several pokemon listed for 1 Slot? (http://www.eggmove.com/encounterblack.html)

I want to capture a Seadra/Kingdra and as you can see in the table, they are in slot 0, 3 and 4. But there are other Pokemon as well, so is it just luck which pokemon will appear? On Serebii it sais that my chances for getting Seadra should be 60%, so I think i don't need to much luck here (http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-bw/location/117.shtml#black).

When you copy your seed and generate the PIDRNG frames, there's a column that says Encounter Slots. These correspond to the encounter slot data on your first link.
So any frame that lists 0, 3, or 4 will have a Seadra.

This confused me as well... I think it works like this:

P2 Laboratory - Slot 0

Surf - Frillish
Surf (water spot) - Alomola
Fishing - Finneon
Fishing (water spot) - Seadra

So when you hit your PID and surf normally, you will encounter only Frillish... If you hit your PID and surf to the water spot you will encounter only Alomola etc.

I'm having a real tough time with Cobalion. When I calibrate I always end up with either C7E or C7F. I try the one that is most common.

Every time I try that, the Cobalion I catch has the wrong IVs. I try again and I get the same IVs. I consistently catch the same Cobalion over and over, but the IVs are wrong. Then I try the other Timer0. The same exact thing happens, although this time with different IVs. It's still consistent but the IVs are wrong.

I've tried both with keypresses, both without keypresses. I've redone my calibration. I'm doing everything right. I'm setting the right frame, I'm starting the game at the right time, and I'm pressing the right keypresses at the right time. Still, it's wrong. On something as easy as a frame 1 stationary and all I have to do is save in front of it and not even advance the frame, somehow I'm failing. I'm at the point where I don't know what else to try. I've been successful once. Since then, everything I try doesn't work. Has anyone had this happen to them?

Well, I finally RNGed my first wild Shiny :D

Spr_5b_525_s.png

Brave (it's bold so I can synch. it)
31/31/31/30/31/31
Gender Female

And now I'm glad I can finally do this thanks to the help of some friends :)

I have 2 questions:

1- Want to RNG a wild Scraggy on Route 18, did the exact same thin' I did with the boldore but it wasn't shiny and nothin' matched. My guess is the NPC ruinin' things for me .
Now, what do NPCs advance? If they advance the PID, then I can take advantage and calculate the amount of chatot calls I have to do... Or is there a better place to RNG Scraggy with an encounter slot of 4 (maybe Route 4 perhaps?)?

2- When I RNGed the Boldore, I was in Twist Mountain. I made sure that I was on a certain square (the exact same place where I found out my starting frame), so then I RNGed it and the Boldore appeared. Would a different Pokemon appear if I were on another space of the room? Or will it still be Boldore but different gender?

EDIT: Never mind the second question, I havin' a feelin' it'll always be Boldore, but will it be different gender (TBH want to RNG Boldore again this time it being male)

Moving NPCs will advance your PIDRNG frame, though I couldn't tell you by how much. With regards to your second question, if you use the same seed, and advance to the same frame, it will always be a female boldore. You'll need to find a different shiny frame that meets your criteria if you want it to be male. RNGreporter contains a link to the encounter tables for both Black and White, so you can see which encounter slots produce which pokémon in any given area, and you can then use RNGreporter's main window to search based on that. The downside is, you might be searching for a while to find a shiny frame that exactly meets your requirements.

Finally, do you have to substitute the "g" for an apostrophe from every word ending in "ing"? It's quite annoying.

Hmmm.... Alright, now I got to find out what how much they advance the PID. Maybe the advance it by 1 every step.... What do you think? If I walk 1 step (in an area that doesn't have wild pokemon) I advance the PID by 1. Right? Do turns count as well (not walking to another sport, standing in the same spot but just turning).

Ah I see, well time to get searching! After I figure out how to RNG Entralink pokes :-D Want to RNG abuse the DW Espy B)

Sorry, but people do type differently <_<; Sometimes I substitute it, sometimes I don't...

On NPCs messing with you, you could probably do your PID advancements, then see what Pokemon you get. Check to see which frame it's on so you know how much you went over, then adjust to that. It'll take a couple tries, but that seems to work.

They advance inconsistently. I've seen them go from 2 - 6 advancements per turn/step.

o.O You know what? Gonna try that now! :D

To find out what I hit, I match it up to the adjacent list in the time finder after right clicking on my seed or the main RNG reporter with the shiny box unchecked?

EDIT: Alright, took a look at the Dwebble. I know for a fact that I hit my seed knowing that the IVs are 31/31/31/30/31/31. It's Gentle nature and by the looks of things, I could have hit frame 73 (looking at the list of the main RNG Reporter with the shiny box unchecked), the nature, ability, and gender match up perfectly. So do I take my starting frame (51) and subtract it from frame 73?

I think I might have figured it out. Gonna try again and see the result I get B)

Hmmm..... Got a different result. Thought that since I landed on (at least was I think I landed on) was frame 73, 10 digits higher than my seed frame (63) that I should do 2 chatot calls instead of 12. I did the 2 chatot calls and sweet scented, caught a male Scraggy Quirky nature ability 0 Scraggy which I think matches up with frame 59 (but I still hit my seed IV calculator says the IVs are 28-31/30-31/29-31/30-31/31/29-31)... Gonna try it again but I won't do any Chatot calls this time...

Wondering if these are the steps for RNGing a roamer.

Method 5 Standard, Roamer. I've got two flawless seeds; 21 and 24.

1. Save in lady's house.
2. Advance frame with steps. (yawn)
3. Go outside. Dude flies away.
4. Masterballin'.
5. Do it again when the nature is wrong.

I know the nature is going to be a crapshoot, but for hitting the IVs, is this good or do I need to do something else?

I will attempt to RNG Reshiram soon and have one quick question: Are there any NPC's that can advance the PIDRNG for Reshiram's room or is its room considered seperate from the rest of N's castle?

No moving NPC's that can screw your frame.

Also, I have one more question. I already deduced my parameters but for the capture search, can I search with a different number of keypresses in the parameters section without deducing my parameters again? Otherwise, ready to RNG Reshiram

Hello, I got a problem with entralink RNG.. I'm trying to capture an Espeon with target time: 15:50:23 (Delay 3696). In the EonTimer I have now following values:

Calibration: -195
Target Delay: 3696
Target Seconds: 23
C-Gear and High Link have a cross.

I selected the right date and as time I have following in the *DS*: 15:49:00. Then I klick/type Start/A at the same time. As soon es the first timer finishes, I softreset my DS. Then I wait in the screen "(Your name) warped to the Entralink!” and press A as soon as the second timer finishes. After this, I walk to my pokemon, capture it and find out its IVs.

The problem I have now, is that my second (per "Search IVs) is always 25 or 26 (but most of the time 25 - out of 6 tries, it was only once 26). What am I doing wrong? I'm supposed to get second 23 :S

There wasn't a ton of research done into how much it can vary and all that. How was your delay? Close or completely missing?

Um, I'm having trouble with RNG Reporter. Whenever I'm trying to put my new MAC address and I click the generate more times button it says the seed is invalid. Any help? :s

My target delay is 3696, but I'm getting ~3917.

Edit: And I can assure you that my hand/ear coordination isn't too bad xD So I'm pretty sure that I'm more or less correctly pressing A when the EonTimer tells me to.

Ok, your calibration is off on both accounts. Add 150 to the HL calibration and you should hit about right. Update your other calibration from there.

@Mega Metal:
Make sure that you're using a seed that you found using that MAC address.

Ok, thank you very much! How lucky to get help from the creator^^

Edit:
Uhm hey this didn't work.. actually, my seconds are now even higher than before! Before the change, the difference was about 3, but now it is 5 seconds. The delaydifference is about higher as well than before.

Edit2: Ohh ok, I substracted it, I will change that and tell you the results!

Edit3: Ok it did work, the only difference is now the delay, but as I understand, it should be so anyways. Thank you again!

Got Reshiram in one go. I have 2 more questions: Does sweet scent have any effect on the PID or IV RNG? Also, I plan to RNG Tornadus next, will there be weather and will it throw off the PIDRNG? A syncher I'm sure is useless for Tornadus
