5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

According to the RNG reporter, if I hit this seed right I'll actually get a shiny, synchronized solosis with ability slot one, which is hopefully magic guard and not the terrible overcoat.

What's your seed's information? IV frame, PID frame, etc.

That said, I understand all of these features are based on the PID frame not the IV frame, and since this is IV frame 4 I have to advance the IV frame by 3 steps which I've been doing by having 3 party members and moving ~130 steps. However, this requires leaving the grass, and according to the OP the act of moving into a grass square will increase my PID frame by 2... probably nuking my shiny.

Shoot for an IV frame of 1, it's always a good thing.
Where are you trying to get your Pokemon. Duosion are available on Route 9 with no NPCs that advance the PIDRNG, and if you do your IV frame advancements outside of the grass, you might be able to work this out.

I don't see how, because like I said the only meaningful way of increasing the IV frame would also increase my PID frame, but if there was some way to do it I'd love to hear it.

Perhaps use a different date. Some people prefer to abuse their ID/SID (which isn't a difficult task) to get flawless shiny spreads that are extremely easy to hit.

That said, while I'm at it, how can I tell what the PID frame should be to begin with? How can I get the RNG Reporter to tell me which PID frame I should have to ensure shininess, etc?

To find your initial PID, you catch a Pokemon without advancing the PIDRNG, record its stats, do it again after one advancement, and so on.
RNG Reporter has a button to find it for you without doing the advancements, if I'm correct.

I don't quite understand the second question, but...
Do you have the Shiny box checked off? It gives you what frame it's on. If not, not all of the spreads will have one in your PID range. But again, if it does, it should be clearly shown.

Another question: How far offscreen does a moving NPC have to be to keep it from messing with the PID?

Doesn't matter where they are, if they're in the same location as you, they'll advance.
I can't confirm all of the routes, but as mentioned above, I do know Route 9 with the bikers is safe.

Edit: One last question. When messing with the timer like this I understand you run the risk of losing people in White Forest / Black City. If I stay within the same day, as I've done today, do I still run this risk? Is there any way of mitigating it beyond avoiding large time slot changes and not saving every time you mess with the time? Or am I just being overly paranoid here?

Well, I advanced my year from 2011 to 2099 and absolutely no one left, no matter how far I advanced the date. Which wasn't what I wanted, I wanted some people to leave to test something.
You should be fine.

Is RNGing for wild Pokemon the same as RNGing for stationary legends? Also, after doing the 128 steps for advancing the frame, do you have to make sure you land in the grass on your last step of the 128? Then I use Sweet Scent and the Pokemon should have the IVs I want, correct?

The only difference from legends is that you use Sweet Scent instead of talking to them, and you have to deal with encounter slots. Yes, you want your 128th step to be on grass.

i need help learning how to rng.

what i actually want to rng is entralink pokemon.

I have already read the topic about how to do but i am still clueless in just about every aspect of it. I dont get most of the numbers etc.. perhaps someone with lots of patience can help me out?

i already downloaded 9.81

In an area with one more than type of Pokémon, it determines which one you encounter.

How do you know the Pokemon's encounter slot? Also, Method 5 (Standard Seed) cannot be used due to the option of encounter slot not being available, correct? So does PIDRNG work the same way as Standard Seed meaning, same initial seed finding process?

Your name is somewhat inappropriate. Also, try to look for a video on it. If that doesn't help, someone on here will probably help.

i suppose videos would be of more help if i were able to hear..

there is only a couple of videos on how to rng c-gear , and the ones that i came across i cant really see what they type in the boxes

I have a question about PID. I am saved right inside the house before you encounter Thundurus and i know i can actually abuse its nature because I can make it fly away before it rains. I have my starting PID frame and to get it Timid I need to advance it 15 times according to the RNG reporter. However whenever I hit my seed and advance accordingly I get a Naughty nature 25 frames away from my start. I have confirmed it keeps hitting naughty when I save 15 times but I don't know why its doing it. The rain isn't randomly advancing it and there is no NPCs interfering. My full seed is 36A19B2F1F8E8223. Can someone help me?

No one has answered me in 2 whole pages. Can someone help me with this so I can finally RNG this Thundurus.

When you do Method 5 (PIDRNG) on the main page, encounter slots for each frame will be listed along with the other information. There is a button to calculate your starting frame, but it won't be accurate if there are wandering NPCs (in which case you'll have to figure it out manually).

These happen simultaneously. You're always using both. The PIDRNG controls PID, nature, encounter slot, etc. The one marked "standard seed" is used for IVs.

I know this sounds dumb, but have you guys ever considered an RNG Abuse tool for IPhone and IPod Touch? I travel a lot, and RNGing on the go would be convenient. I,d even be willing to pay a good amount for the app.

When I go into RNG Reporter 9.81's Time Finder and click on the "5th Gen DS Parameters Setup" tab, all the information there is correct, except for my DS MAC address. However, that field is grayed out, so I can't change it there. How can I change it so that I get relevant results in my searches?

Also, can someone please confirm or deny whether the "Roamer Released" checkbox is for 5th gen? I figured it was (since it appeared on a 5th-gen-only method), but voodoo pimp told me that he is pretty sure it's for prior generations.

It wouldn't be practical. Even on a high-end computer, it takes around an hour to do a search. A phone's hardware would take substantially longer.

You have to set it to Method 5 first.

Okay, I have no idea what is going on here. I've been trying to RNG my Vaporeon on the Entry Forest. So far it's been a bitch, but I've slowly been narrowing my delay down and getting closer. But now nothing I catch shows up in the IV finder when I plug it in to find my adjacent delays. I can't believe that I suddenly went from being 10 delay away on the right second to outside of +-999 delay and 9 second range. Has anyone else experienced an issue like this?

What is your min/max frame range on RNG Reporter?
Sephirona Guide says some players have experienced the shift of your starting frame from 21 to 8.

also the screenshots in the first page are somewhat irrelevant i cant find what it says in the entralink post.

this is godam frustrating

Ok, so I'm trying to capture a non-shiny litwick in celestial tower 2F, using standard non c-gear seeds, with pokemon black on a ds lite.
My seed produces a spread 31/2/30/31/31/31, and I'm able to hit the seed consistently. However, I'm looking for a timid nature, and I'm having trouble locating my starting PID frame. My starting frame for the MTIVRNG is 1, so moving around isn't the problem (and there are no moving npcs, anyway).
I have tried chattering up to 4 times, with the following results (each with correct IV's):
0: bashful
1: mild
2: hasty
3: brave
4: naughty
I can't find this sequence in my PIDRNG search anywhere. I was under the impression that as long as I didnt do anything that would advance the PIDRNG initially, it would start at around frame 40-60, but i can't find a sequence that even remotely resembles this anywhere in the first 1000 frames. help?

EDIT: what's really confusing is that I just used the same method to get flawless IV's on my Terrakion and Cobalion, and i was able to find my nature sequence within two tries.
